Automates processes efficiently with cost-effective scaling and robust customer support
Web scraping is quite good since it offers a lot of possibilities. Another important feature for me is its compatibility with MBI, the Power that is ISEQUADO Centers. I appreciate the ability to scale and increase the number of bots or studios without additional expense. Automate's non-reliance on additional orchestrators makes it quite cost-effective.

The tool needs to improve in the areas of security, though it is a versatile product
Inflectra Rapise needs to expand its ability. I spoke with Inflectra's executive account rep on the need to expand the tool's ability. The problem with Inflectra Rapise is that a lot of companies are still using SAP GUI. Inflectra has no intention of building Rapise in a way that allows it to interact with SAP GUI. Inflectra Rapise has very limited value for the companies I work with because they they still use SAP GUI since their top priority is SAP testing, and they want to get into automation, for which they need a tool that cannot only used to automate processes, but can also do end-to-end testing where you are not only using SAP GUI, but you are using the interface with old legacy systems that are still in use or with today's more modern technologies. In the future, the tool needs to increase its versatility. If I am at a company that uses 23 different technologies, like .NET Visual Basic, Oracle, SQL, or whatever, Inflectra Rapise needs to be made as a product that is an out-of-the-box usable tool for any technology.

Automation streamlines onboarding and reduces the load on customer service agents
As the head of the division, I do not use UiPath myself. However, I am the decision-maker, so I review the features. The combination of both full-attended and half-attended automation, where you can automate tasks and still interact when required, is very useful. It provides efficiency by freeing staff from unnecessary tasks, resulting in a balanced workload and more productive use of an employee's time. The tool has a noticeable ROI, and the investment is worth every penny as it reduces tedious tasks and improves scalability. It is very easy to use. During the COVID lockdown, my son who was 11 at the time attended a UiPath and Automation Anywhere training with me. He has already automated his school tasks requiring saving data and uploading some documents to the portal. If a kid can do this, it shows how easy it is.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The best feature of Automate is its ease of use, which is a major selling point."
"I find the ease of use from a programming perspective very valuable."
"Automate increases efficiency and eliminates errors during documentation and invoicing processes."
"The most valuable features of Fortra's Automate include its FTP functionality and file manipulation capabilities."
"I like the interface; it makes managing automation easy. We can set different schedules and templates for each task."
"Web scraping is quite good since it offers a lot of possibilities."
"I find it very user-friendly. Our IT department and other departments can seamlessly collaborate without requiring extensive training. As a business department, we particularly value this aspect, as our team doesn't consist of many IT users. However, we couldn't solely rely on a drag-and-drop approach to implement and utilize the solution within our departments."
"The product effectively handles all the tasks we require."
"We always use the product for end-to-end automation test cases."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its versatility."
"It's pretty straightforward to set up."
"It integrates naturally with environments in most scenarios, which is good from an implementation standpoint."
"The ability that this solution has to work with Excel is really good."
"The solution has improved our organization, specifically around all the operational aspects of the bot. Once we deploy them through the orchestrator we use insights to see how the bots are performing, what errors are referring, and just the general health insights would be the biggest lift that we've gotten out of the solution. Building the automation is a little bit easier and quicker on the platform than where we were at before."
"The most valuable feature of UiPath is the complete queue system-based framework because it is robust for all clients."
"I appreciate the orchestration capabilities and document processing integrations."
"UiPath has helped reduce human error."
"The product has freed up employee time - and it's not just the employee time. We do have some triggers that run. Some jobs are run that people use to manually do at night and weekends. We also don't have to hire additional people just to learn 80 different types of things in a claim and identify correctness manually. The robots will go through and then they can identify if there are specific things that are wrong. That part will go to our experts and they'll review those exact issues."
"The document extraction or document understanding feature of UiPath is valuable. It basically extracts data from the PDF."

Cons

"The OCR for Hebrew text needs to be improved."
"The intelligent automation feature could be improved. It's interesting because it's simple, but the automation quality isn't always good. It's easy to use, but sometimes you need to make a slight improvement to the automation, and that's not so easy."
"I would like the updates to be easier to deploy. Integration with Amazon S3 is somewhat lacking."
"The workflow for variables could be better. The input and output of task-level variables could be made a little clearer in terms of passing those around from one task to another upon success, etc. Things like that could be a little easier potentially."
"I believe we need to test various OCR tools that assist in evaluating, let's say, six different customer resyncs. We analyze their spending patterns and documentations, but current OCR support has limitations, requiring highly standardized documents, which isn't always the case. With a more advanced OCR system, we could improve processes related to credit risk management and legal matters. We're exploring how to integrate Fortra's Automate with our CRM platform, taking cues from instances where Salesforce seamlessly merged with Automate. However, we use a different CRM, Insight for New Enterprise, and we're seeking ways to connect the automation process within our CRM. We aim for the automation to continue smoothly, even in instances where traditional automation methods might face hurdles."
"The documentation is not that great."
"I currently have three bugs open with them that I don't know if they are addressed in the new release."
"Error messages should be better. For error status, there should be better documentation because a lot of times, error messages that you get are quite vague. For example, you get a message saying that the workflow has run into an unknown status, which is vague. It just tells you that it failed, but you don't know how or why it failed. It makes debugging difficult."
"It would be good if there could be more integration of Inflectra Rapise, since not all customers use the same tool for test management and automation integration."
"Inflectra Rapise needs to expand its ability."
"The maintenance is very difficult. We've only been using the platform for three months, so I'm not sure if that will continue, but right now it's an observation I've had."
"More videos are required. There are basic videos that can help you learn about the product, however, there need to be more in-depth videos to help you through certain tasks."
"UiPath needs to incorporate French and Portuguese language-based training. It is not easy for people without an IT background."
"UiPath should offer an on-demand cloud-type model where you can get bots for five minutes, ten minutes, an hour, or whatever duration you need."
"While doing web automation, I am facing a selector issue. In the web portal, we need to capture a screen element. For capturing the screen element, when I run the job the next time, it fails because the limit is not recognized. It is very difficult to make the selector stable. It is not easy."
"The vendor can improve the solution by building up the BA path included in the UI Academy courses. There's too much focus on development, but not enough on BAs, scrum masters, and project managers alike."
"The pricing of particularly on the bot licenses is placed to maximize revenue forUiPath and is not in the best interests of the customer. For example, if I have 150 robots, our utilization of that is about 27% as my demands come in spikes. Most of the robots sit there doing nothing, and I paid for them."
"I would suggest that UiPath be released for use on other platforms."
"UiPath can improve its AI and optical character recognition or OCR."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"While solutions like UiPath and Blue Prism cost around $11,000-$12,000 for each license, this product costs around $7,000 and you can keep it forever."
"The pricing is quite reasonable. We can run the process with one bot. The limitation is at the server level because they have some resources, and sometimes that is enough. It isn't too expensive, so you can get a good return off of one, and you can also have a pack of five bots that is quite competitive."
"It comes with a package that costs approximately $20,000 USD per year."
"It has gone up in price. The price of Fortra's Automate has increased since we first started using it. It does a lot but also costs a lot. It was a lot more affordable before Fortra owned the software."
"The cost is a bit high for a small business like ours, but we manage with Fortra's Automate."
"I'm only involved in running the product and maintaining the systems, so I can't speak to the cost."
"Once you buy the software, you just pay for the support for backend help."
"From a distributor's perspective, one of the biggest selling points of Automate is its price point."
"I rate the product's price an eight on a scale of one to ten, where ten means very good pricing."
"We pay no more than $50 annually for support of each one of the licenses."
"Given how cheap it is to initially buy the product, the licensing methodology that they have in terms of renewing every year is appropriate. Later on, if they start charging more early on, for deployment, buying the license, and deploying it initially, then having a lower maintenance fee might be more appropriate. Now, with the scale they are at, it is an appropriate way to do the licensing."
"UiPath is a little more costly than competing solutions such as Automation Anywhere."
"UiPath's cost is moderate."
"UiPath is an expensive solution but it is worth the money. You have a lot of features."
"This solution is not cheap but the price is worth it because by following the documentation and using the support, you get good robotic processes that are stable."
"No matter how much you complain about the price of a SaaS product, it's still cheaper than building your own data center and other infrastructure. That's my perspective as someone who works for a company that does digital transformation. The price is cheaper than building and deploying your own solutions."
"We looked at Blue Prism and two other vendors. Based on our comparison, UiPath was the better solution with better licensing."
"The pricing differs on the requirements. If there is a huge purchase, then we get a discount. There is not a fixed pricing of the product."
