A stable and reliable product that provides a variety of features for data integration
The solution is not for newcomers. It has an old touch. The solution must improve the integration with new services. It was part of the program at Informatica when they moved to their cloud platform. It is integrated. However, from an on-premise perspective, we need to buy licenses for PowerExchange. If we want a native driver to access a special service, we need to extend our license to those services. It is expensive. I don't like that it's not all included in the solution.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"It reduces a lot of legacy coding."
"The most complex task, in this case, was to read and transform BLOB data, and Java transformation in Informatica Power Center was a great solution."
"The most valuable features are the dynamic reading of the file metadata profile, and the ability to define business rules that are used to verify and validate the uploaded files."
"It works with any multi-databases, so it works with Sybase, SQL Server. Also, the performance is really good and it is easy to use."
"Informatica PowerCenter has been implementing mapping design, data flow, and workflow execution for years."
"If the systems get migrated or upgraded, the amount of resources required are very minimal. We can change the connections and establish a new connection. It's very helpful."
"I found the map links, work links, and workflows valuable. They are important features."
"It has a Data Catalog that uses the Model repository."
"This product provides good reports using a single pane of glass."
"What I like best about this solution is that it is built into the SAP line, making it easier to integrate with other SAP products."
"For report scheduling, I always prefer SAP because it has the most powerful scheduling features, like sending reports to more than 1,000 customers per day. That option is not as good in Microsoft BI and in Tableau it only exists as an add-on option."
"The platform's main benefit is its integration with SAP ERP data. It’s effective for data integration and integrity."
"Data consistency is also a notable feature; the system takes care of data consistency, so you don't need to handle it manually."
"SAP Analytics Hub offers a user-friendly interface with effortless configuration, seamless updates, and real-time availability of information. It avoids the complexities associated with batch processing, providing a smooth and efficient experience."

Cons

"Lacks ability to calculate cost of the product."
"I would like to see an improvement in the digital adoption."
"Its interface can be modernized. It is an old product. I have been working with it for 14 years, and it still looks the same. It hasn't been modernized much. It also needs to handle more modern formats, such as JSON files. It works with the old text files and databases, but it does not always work with the newer, modern stuff. You need to make your own programs to support that kind of stuff. Support is also a kind of difficult with Informatica. They don't do direct support and rely on using their distributors around the globe for support, which means that you kind of have to go through this layer of different companies before you get help."
"We had stability issues, mostly with JVM size."
"While on-premises is a better product, we really need to move to the cloud and need the cloud to be as robust as this product."
"The initial setup is not straightforward. You need expertise to do it."
"Its licensing can be improved. It should be features-wise and not bundle-wise. A bundle will definitely be costly. In addition, we might use one or two features. That's why the pricing model should be based on the features. The model should be flexible enough based on the features. Their support should also be more responsive to premium customers."
"They should release new versions for the solution's on-premises setup."
"The technical support for Analytics Hub is limited and could be improved."
"The platform could easily integrate with other ERP data solutions. Additionally, it should be faster compared to competitors in the cloud space."
"The analytics part of SAP has not been that good up until now. They're still in the infant stage and development is still going on. SAP has some cloud analytics and they're trying to configure it in Lumira, but it's not that good at this point."
"Faster implementation of new functions for the new product is an area of improvement in SAP Analytics Hub."
"Pricing and support are integrated into the system. However, the support process can be challenging, particularly when navigating the SAP support site, which lacks user-friendliness and ease of access."
"The interface can be simplified because it is not a user-friendly experience."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We have found the pricing very cost-effective. The licensing is CPU and data source-based."
"The license model is CPU based."
"We are satisfied with the pricing."
"I rate the solution's pricing a four out of ten. The price is very high, and it doesn't understand the market now."
"The price of this solution is high."
"Informatica PowerCenter is reasonably priced. It is less expensive than Pentaho. There is a standard version fee in Taiwan. It is a one-time yearly subscription price that is approximately $3,010 US dollars for three users."
"According to what I've heard and read on various blogs, it's quite expensive when compared to similar competitive products."
"The pricing is a little expensive, but in the same range as IBM and other competitors."
"The product is expensive."
"They are pursuing a highly assertive approach to target businesses of all sizes within the industry."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"It is an expensive solution."
