Dashboard is intuitive and mature, guiding you through the backup steps required
The feature I find most valuable is the backup configuration, particularly in Google Workspace. It's pretty much the same as for Office 365, but it shows you a list of the mailbox or account holders in an organization. If you want to back somebody up, it's literally just a checkbox to choose that individual. It's super simple to say, "I want to back up these mailboxes, but I will leave these other people, who are temporary, unchecked." I can't make a mistake. You can recover emails, documents, SharePoint. You can restore any of those cloud services. In addition, the Infrascale Dashboard is very intuitive and very easy to use. It takes you step-by-step through the things you need to do to back up your Google Workspace or Office 365 platform. It has been implemented really well; it's pretty top-notch. It seems like a very mature feature, where a lot of thought was put into the user interface to make it easy for managed service providers to provide easy backup for multiple customers. It's well laid out. And when I have restored files or just emails, the speed of the restore has been very good. It has only taken minutes to complete.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Pros

"I don't think you could do much better than using Infrascale."
"The feature I find most valuable is the backup configuration, particularly in Google Workspace. It's pretty much the same as for Office 365, but it shows you a list of the mailbox or account holders in an organization. If you want to back somebody up, it's literally just a checkbox to choose that individual. "The solution is easy to use; it's very simple and clients find it very easy to find all objects and things they need with the Veeam Explorer."
"The program has been working really well for us."
"Veaam Backup has recently added MS Teams to the programs they cover, which was a big improvement."
"Overall, it's a very good product."
"The solution is stable."
"It helps to ensure that you can always have your data restored."
"The solution is stable and, with the options available, it's the only one we've used."
"Veeam technical support, from my perspective, is one of the best technical support I've ever engaged with."

Cons

"The barrier to entry should be smaller. Their ICB (Infrascale Cloud Backup) requires a minimum of one terabyte and the IBDR (Infrascale Backup & Disaster Recovery) requires one terabyte. It would be better if they could do 500 gigabytes. I don't always want to purchase terabytes at a time, although those are different products than what we've been talking about."
"The support for deduplication appliances is an area to consider for improvement."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 can improve by adding more features with Microsoft Teams. We have many files that we are working on with Microsoft Teams and there should be more integration and features."
"They can provide a dashboard for sizing."
"Support is quite bad. They advise too late. When we call for support, it really does take far too long for a response."
"It requires quite an amount of infrastructure. You have to set up the instance, and you need to know quite a bit about Microsoft 365 authentication. For some customers, it is a challenge."
"It would be a great improvement to be able to recover cover a VM straight to on-prem."
"The price could be reduced to make it more competitive."
"I'm very satisfied with Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 and would continue using it if it were up to me. However, my management is considering alternative solutions due to issues with our storage solutions."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's only in the cloud and there are no extra fees. You just pay for your storage, for the space that you need to use. As an MSP, you can allocate space to clients as you need to."
"We decided on Altaro because, from the point of view of the total cost, Altaro looks cheaper than Veeam. Veeam has a lot of costs that are not clear when you start it, which makes it less flexible than Altaro, but only after half a year, you can be really sure that you made a good decision."
"The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive."
"From our perspective in South Africa, our biggest challenge is the exchange rate from the South African currency to the US dollar. This makes it a bit pricey for us. However, compared to other backup solutions available, I would rate the pricing at a nine out of ten. For the servers, features, and functionality you get, it's worth the money. Of course, we'd always prefer things to be cheaper, but we also understand that you have to pay for proper functionality. So overall, it's not badly priced at all."
"It is an expensive product, and there is an additional cost involved in purchasing hardware. I rate the pricing an eight out of ten."
"Its price is a little bit high, but it is a fantastic solution. It is more expensive than NetApp."
"Veaam Backup is licensed per mailbox, which customers like because it's per user and so they don't have to pay for shared mailboxes."
"Its cost is pretty high. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
"This is not a stand-alone product and requires a standard Veeam license for your organization in addition to the cost of the solution."
