Enables management of multiple operating systems with a single license
The best feature is that it's a Microsoft product, so if anything goes wrong, we get quick support for anything required. Remote system functionality allows us to sit anywhere and take control of any device via remote management. We can enhance security for clients' laptops with built-in Microsoft Defender, which is available with the Microsoft Intune license. We use it for reporting purposes through endpoint analytics. When pushing scripting, there are two types available: remediation script and reservation script. Through endpoint analytics, you can push defender policies to clients. It helps with reporting, inventory updates, and monitoring tenant status health.

Has consistently offered in-depth customization and reliable patch management across environments
The most valuable features of Ivanti Endpoint Manager are its customization options for the agent, as you can customize patching cycle settings, maintenance windows, and reboot policies. Within a device group, all these settings can be customized based on the agents. The user interface of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is very practical and easy to understand, providing comprehensive information without clutter. It is simple enough for me to conduct a knowledge session for teammates, and they quickly grasp where each option is located. Regarding automated patch management, it allows me to download patches without manual intervention. Whenever a fresh list of patches is available on the server, I can schedule a task that automatically pulls all the new patches, but I prefer to manually control the deployment of these patches. Reporting in Ivanti Endpoint Manager allows me to create LDAP-based queries, and once I have a bit of knowledge, I can build my queries to determine what version of Chrome is installed on how many devices. It provides CSV files that serve as raw data for building reports, and I can set it to automatically email reports on a weekly or monthly basis as per my schedule.

Offers reliability and efficiency to users
The real-time visibility offered by the product has impacted our company's IT operations, and I can say that it is a user-friendly or admin-friendly product. I recommend the product to others since it is a powerful solution. The product is reliable and efficient. The product vendors are helpful, and they try to engage with the customers and improve the product. In terms of the benefits offered by the product, it is a powerful tool where the vendor offers support to users. I rate the tool a nine out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Intune can wipe devices. For example, if a disgruntled employee wants to leak the data on their company phone, Intune can terminate their access and wipe the entire device with a click."
"Intune significantly simplifies application deployment, mobile application management, and policy enforcement, such as restricting user access to specific applications, thereby enhancing overall environment security."
"Windows Autopatch is the most valuable because it removes the burden of patch management."
"It's very informative when there is an error. It allows us to backtrace where the error is and resolve that ourselves. It's a bit of a Swiss Army penknife. We find that it fixes most issues."
"When a user receives the machine, sets it up, and turns it on, it connects to the domain and begins installing software, becoming ready within approximately half an hour, which represents a significant time savings for IT departments."
"The many policies available in Microsoft Intune for managing our devices are valuable."
"It's really easy to access."
"The security posture is very good. It's very customizable."
"What I appreciate most about Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it's easy to enroll the device, the patch is very impressive, and the patching part of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is much easier compared to InTune, where in InTune, you have to create the app deployment, but Ivanti Endpoint Manager makes it much easier to update any patch, patch updates, and application updates."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The most beneficial aspect of Ivanti Endpoint Manager is that it is cost-friendly."
"The product saves time and money."
"The Ivanti Endpoint Manager allows us to perform rollouts, starting small with a group of devices and expanding to a larger set of devices, and it provides the ability to download updates while pinpointing which updates we need and don't need."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager has served us well over the years, supporting operating systems from Windows XP to Windows 10."
"The best features of Ivanti Endpoint Manager are that the agents are very light, and the deployment monitoring is very good."
"Ivanti is a great product from a security perspective."
"The solution's technical support is very responsive."

Cons

"I rate Microsoft customer service six out of 10. While some technicians go above and beyond, there is inconsistency, and connecting with the most helpful representatives is occasionally challenging."
"I have a lot of Apple products in my environment. It would be nice to have an improved integration of Apple products with Microsoft Intune without Jam."
"Reporting can be better. Only global administrators can see detailed reports at the moment, and I don't want to use the global admin."
"Sometimes, the process is unsuccessful when we attempt to reset a device and wipe the data using Intune."
"The solution needs to improve reporting. Sometimes, it shows double or triple entries of the same thing, which affects the count's accuracy. Also, some applications onboarded in Microsoft Intune do not get updated. When we look for solutions online, there is often no clear answer."
"Since the devices are configured over the Internet, whatever policy we apply from the compliance portal does not reflect immediately on the endpoint."
"I wish Microsoft would keep up with their documentation. They make changes so quickly to these platforms that they do not update the documentation properly in a timely manner."
"Certificate management within Microsoft Intune's Suite is still under development. It's not very reliable compared to other certificate tools, though it has made good progress within a couple of years."
"When we offboard a user, sending the wipe command or lock command is slightly slower than Workspace ONE, as Workspace ONE automatically processes the lock or device wipe command instantly, while InTune is similar too."
"They should create instructional videos for every feature such as software management and patch management to help beginners who are new to Ivanti Endpoint Manager."
"When it comes to the reporting part, it needs to be improved. The executive reports and the deployment reports can be more improvised."
"Setting up the solution on-premises is difficult and needs improvement."
"The product's implementation process is in areas of concern where improvements are required."
"Ivanti Endpoint Manager is not user-friendly and feels outdated, which affects usability."
"The reporting functionality and user interface could be improved. The options to generate reports should be more dynamic rather than static."
"For larger environments such as ours, the pricing for the Ivanti Endpoint Manager should be more competitive considering how much we pay every year, making it a constant challenge to get the product and license renewed."
"There are some bugs in the product. The tool needs to improve in the area of reporting."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you're ever going to buy an Office 365 environment, then pricing is reasonable given all that it does, but if you're not, then you might find the pricing expensive."
"Microsoft Intune is included in the E5 license at no additional cost."
"The Intune license model is costly."
"I rate Intune five out of 10 for pricing. It's expensive."
"It is reasonable for the features it has."
"It's affordable. It's cheaper if you have an Office 365, E5, or E3 subscription because everything is there."
"It's a bit expensive from a licensing perspective, especially as we look to have organizations with tenants across the globe."
"Its licensing model is not complex, but it is very expensive compared to other solutions. They can bring more models and reduce the pricing. They should allow customers to select the features they want and price it accordingly."
