Centralized device management has transformed security and streamlined remote provisioning
One area where Microsoft Intune can improve is the user interface. Sometimes the portal feels a bit complex and not very intuitive, especially for new users, and it can take time to find specific settings. Another point is troubleshooting. While logs are available, the diagnostic policies and sync issues can still be time-consuming and not very straightforward. I also feel that reporting could be more detailed and customizable. The built-in reports are helpful, but for deeper insights, I often need to rely on additional tools. Overall, it is a strong solution, but improving usability and troubleshooting experience would make it even better. While Microsoft Intune works very well within the Microsoft ecosystem, the integration of some third-party tools could be smoother and require less customization. Support is another area that could improve, as sometimes response times can be slow, and resolving complex issues may take longer than expected. In terms of features, I think more advanced automation and built-in remediation options would be helpful since common issues can be fixed automatically without manual intervention.

Has simplified remote software delivery and script management but needs improved reporting flexibility and better Mac support
NinjaOne's best features include ease of use regarding enablement and deployment, a broad selection and ability of software enablement, and API deliveries. Using CrowdStrike, we are able to tie in NinjaOne's API to have these automatically deliver to endpoints upon addition of those devices to a group with that policy deployed to it. NinjaOne has positively impacted our organization by making delivery easier for our end users and improving the ability to create scripts, manage scripts, and check status of devices and their compliance. This easier delivery with NinjaOne gives us oversight on devices without having to be on the call or remoted in directly to a device.

Centralized policies have improved remote endpoint control and have simplified data visibility
The integration is not simple and easy. It requires experienced users or people who have done the implementation. When certain policies are applied, they do not immediately push the policies. For example, we manage endpoint device USB access. We set a policy to block it, but it does not come into effect immediately. Sometimes it takes three or four days for it to reflect. That is a pain point. I have raised this issue with support as well, but they said that I need to limit the number of devices in the policy. In terms of application deployment, for us, it was seamless.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We were trying to solve many issues, mainly the lack of centralized management. Before Microsoft Intune, we had to manually support devices one by one, installing applications and configuring policies individually. When we implemented the tool, it became much easier to manage our devices. We enroll them in Microsoft Intune and can manage all devices with a few clicks. For application management, it's the same process. If we want to deploy applications to hundreds or thousands of devices, we can do it easily with just a few clicks. This also applies to policies."
"It is a very helpful solution."
"The ability to (somewhat) manage full Windows 10 computers including EXE-based or MSI-based application deployments using Azure Active Directory as Identity."
"It is a stable solution."
"Previously, we used on-prem SCCM to deploy applications we built manually. After migrating to Intune, we automated and streamlined the process of deploying applications with autopilot. I can do more with my day. I can manage more applications and ensure that they're updated without monitoring and manually starting that process all over again."
"The policy and compliance monitoring of devices and the software deployment are most valuable."
"Microsoft Intune brings all endpoint and security management tools into one place, and for app discovery, deployment, and automatic updating, it's reliable."
"If a client is using a lot of Microsoft, it's a great product to have."
"The tool's most valuable feature is third-party application updates."
"The customer support at NinjaOne is excellent, rated ten out of ten."
"The most relevant feature is the monitoring, which provides built-in tools for sending commands."
"A significant feature of NinjaOne is its remote access capability, which is essential for my clients’ home office usage."
"It helps us to be able to have visibility into the overall performance of the servers, laptops, and desktops that we are managing currently."
"The software's automation tools have solved critical deployment problems for small businesses."
"The installation is easy, it only took two minutes."
"The most valuable features of NinjaOne include remote desktop management, support and assistive tools, and screen sharing."
"The solution is scalable and helps to understand how infrastructure works. It helps to improve the health of the organization."
"I like the fact that you can create patching campaigns depending on the area of your network that you want to address first."
"I'm not so familiar with the tool but I like the interaction of the console to the picture. Patching is the primary model I have been focusing on for the last couple of weeks. So I have created a proof of concept environment and have been checking the available features."
"Tanium has made the process of detecting threats more proactive with its detection, so the process is easier and more efficient."
"The security features are very valuable."
"Tanium is a very good product and I would rate it eight or nine out of ten."
"Tanium’s best features include support for any Windows, Linux, or Mac endpoint, regardless of where it is, and the ability to do IT operations and security operations."
"The most valuable features of this solution are the consolidation of all historical data on device endpoints, security drivers, firmware, and Software version gaps."

Cons

"For migrations, sometimes we experience some issues with OS deployment and the user experience side."
"A new Intune feature allows application packaging, but it incurs additional licensing costs for a significant number of applications."
"I also hope the cost of Remote Help will decrease because it's a much-needed Intune function."
"I would like more clarity on how Intune is migrating control from Active Directory group policies, especially as we move over to Windows 11. It seems inefficient to manage some settings in Active Directory and others in Intune."
"Customer service used to be better. In the last couple of years, support has not been very good, even with Premier and Premium support. It's been very hit-or-miss."
"The synchronization of devices takes a significant amount of time, between 15 minutes and two hours. Microsoft should work on reducing this sync time to improve efficiency."
"There is room for improvement in server patch management and allowing direct uploads of EXE applications instead of needing to convert them to Intune format, which would save time."
"Microsoft Intune needs to improve the initial login process."
"The reporting is lackluster. NinjaOne is great for maintaining systems, but it's hard to use it to understand the state that systems are in without going in and mining the information myself. I rate the reporting two out of 10."
"Customer support is active and proactive, but not reachable 24/7, which is an issue."
"NinjaOne can be improved by making mobile usage on the system cheaper because it becomes an expensive commodity."
"I want NinjaOne to improve the reports."
"NinjaOne's dashboard could be easier to use."
"The graphical user interface could be improved."
"The ticketing system in NinjaOne is not the best."
"I would like to see the software reduced to focus on inventory or remote help tools since many of its current functionalities are not needed."
"The most painful thing is the interface. It's a bit unclear sometimes."
"The solution lacks mobility."
"The main issues are the network connection because different customers have issues with their networks. It's difficult implementing this type of solution because the network is the main feature in the architecture for these types of solutions. Tanium could improve by creating some network optimization."
"When working with Tanium, there are some older devices that haven't been patched for a long time, and certain patches are not included in Tanium."
"When working with Tanium, there are some older devices that haven't been patched for a long time, and certain patches are not included in Tanium. I have to search outside to download patches, create bundles, and then perform the task."
"We had some issues with the solution's OS upgrade."
"Most of the time, agent-relative issues have to be more equipped with self-healing features."
"We set a policy to block USB access. The moment a device is being set up on the network, I apply the policy, but it does not come into effect immediately."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Its price is quite okay. I wish they provide certain additional features with the same license."
"Microsoft licenses are costly."
"Intune is moderately expensive. You can get the license bundled with Office 365 E3 or E5 licenses. The E5s are a bit expensive, but you get some cheaper solutions with Intune."
"It's reasonable. They're not giving it away, but it's reasonable."
"I would rate the price a four out of ten with ten being the most expensive."
"The pricing is inherently reasonable, as Microsoft leverages market insights to maintain the total cost of ownership at around ninety to ninety-five percent of what would be incurred in an on-premise scenario."
"Its price is fair. It's a normal price. It isn't too expensive or too cheap."
"While Microsoft charges for actual usage, it lacks discount options."
"I rate the solution’s pricing a five out of ten, where one is the lowest and ten is the most expensive."
"NinjaRMM uses a subscription model."
"It roughly costs $400 a month. It provides a good value because of the number of tools that you get in the solution. I would rate it a four out of five in terms of pricing. There are no additional costs other than the standard licensing fees."
"NinjaOne's price is fine since my workplace is an educational institution, so we get the product at a really good price considering that we do not pay taxes, making the prices very fair and worth the product."
"Its pricing is great."
"The product's pricing depends on the number of PCs or devices."
"We got a pretty good deal. It was fairly affordable."
"The pricing is reasonable and cheaper than ConnectWise."
"The product's pricing differs from region to region depending on negotiations and the number of endpoints."
"It is higher than some competitors in the market."
"The solution offers value for money."
"There is an annual license required to use this solution."
"It's an expensive solution. It would be nice if the cost were lower."
"Tanium is a more expensive solution in Latin America than some of the competitors, such as BigFix."
"The solution is expensive but it's a good investment."
