We use Ivanti Tunnel to provide and publish access to on-premise applications The product's interface needs improvement. I rate the product's stability a ten out of ten. One of our Ivanti Tunnel's customers manages 300 end users, and another customer manages 200 end users. I rate its…

An area for improvement is the pricing model. The concurrent user licenses get expensive pretty quickly as your organization grows, so more flexible pricing options would be a huge plus. Another area is configurational disconnect. While the admin web UI handles about 90% of what you need, the moment you have to do deep, advanced routing customization, you still have to drop back to the command line interface to make those changes. It would be great to see those deeper configurations completely integrated into the web portal. Lastly, it would be awesome to see native support for newer, lighter protocols through WireGuard built straight into the platform alongside standard OpenVPN for better performance efficiency.

Pros

"The technical support team provides good services and faster response times."
"OpenVPN Access Server has positively impacted my organization by helping us design a reliable infrastructure and even providing definite SLA metrics to our clients."
"It can securely do remote product updates... just as if it was on our LAN."
"The best thing is that it is open source and free of cost."
"I have set the default routes to the VPN server so that all traffic is encrypted."
"The most valuable thing about OpenVPN Access Server is its ease of use."
"It is easy to use."
"The most valuable feature is that I can access my local network remotely and avoid doing all the port forwarding and redirections, and so on."
"For those looking into OpenVPN Access Server, I recommend it for its strong security, user-friendly access management, and operational scale."

Cons

"The product's interface needs improvement."
"I think OpenVPN Access Server's setup can be just one click; currently, it takes multiple steps, and when you forget the admin password, you are locked in."
"The product’s connectivity is very slow. It could be faster."
"If we had to create something for someone who was not necessarily tech savvy, I had to set that up on their computer, I had to write "read me's" and other things so that they could install their client and then connect to the VPN by themselves. So it was hard to set up for people who are not tech savvy."
"I would like to see a GUI or Web UI to manage users. Today these features are in the Pro Edition or are done by scripts."
"OpenVPN Access Server could be improved in several areas. The encryption strength is inevitably lower compared with the latest technologies, and when I try to add features like two-factor authentication, the needed plugins and so on often are not really available or do not fit well."
"The concurrent user licenses get expensive pretty quickly as your organization grows, so more flexible pricing options would be a huge plus."
"The main area for OpenVPN Access Server improvement is its pricing model, as the concurrent user license gets expensive quickly as the organization grows, so more flexible pricing options would be a huge plus for AVIARC."
"There sometimes is an incompatibility between some VPNs."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product has average pricing."
"The product offers yearly as well as monthly subscription plans. It has moderate pricing."
"OpenVPN Access Server was free for students. I don't know if you have to pay for an advanced version."
"OpenVPN Access Server is a cheap corporate solution."
"The solution is free of cost."
"OpenVPN is a free and open-source solution."
"The price point is fantastic since it is free."
"It is free, you buy support."
"I would say the product's pricing is a good value. I would recommend to other companies to implement it. I've seen other software, in tandem with the service, to be very expensive."
