The solution provides dynamic reports while being easy to use
There is not much training for Jedox. There was no training available in the beginning at all. I had to reach out to them so they would give us something. I think they're getting better, though. The other issue is the dependence on the partner network. We used to deal directly with Jedox, but now it is all through partners, and Jedox's representatives are not in the picture anymore. It's not that partners are not doing a good job, but you're not dealing with the company directly since it's a partner most of the time. If you build your know-how within the company, it's good. Otherwise, the dependence on partners could end up being more costly. Suppose you do your development or don't need to develop constantly by starting with a sprint, deciding what you want to do, and setting up the cubes, databases, and everything correctly. In that case, you only need to develop different reports using the same data. However, it could be costly if you constantly need to develop reports or different cubes and store different systems without the in-house know-how.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"With Jedox, those kinds of pain points have been removed, and now if I create my dashboard once, people just need to add the data or pull the data, or the data just comes in on a scheduled basis from various systems, and my dashboards are ready."
"The Excel interface is designed to retrieve data from the database and send it back, which is a significant advantage."
"The ETL itself was pretty useful and it's integrated in the tenant itself. So the Olap service technology was impressive to me. In order to extract that and load it in the tube in the same tenant or the same tool that was something magnificent because I actually missed this in SEB. SEB requires another tool, and you have to integrate all the tools together. But for Jedox, it was in the one tool."
"We can configure and have complete freedom while creating solutions."
"The EPM is the most valuable feature."
"The solution is quick with analysis and calculation. The tool offers high digitalization which helps us to run the controlling department with less number of people. If the software wasn't there, I would need two to three people extra to run the department."
"The data entry point is most valuable, and the way we can customize our report or do data entry is very good."
"The customer porting is the most valuable feature."
"It has enabled us to cut the budgeting process by 50% as well as making the budgets more acute."
"Customer Service: It's excellent."
"Definitely take a look at this product and its offerings as it has a lot of useful features and could be used to simplify processes and day to day activities."
"I would say US$80K/year as it has automated the process and saved us from hiring a new analyst."
"The time saved by building variables to drive accounts inside the budgeting system, along with balancing accounts to spread increases or decreases based on different accounts or versions, more than makes up for the pricing of the software."
"The ability to budget on individual levels, i.e. by person for payroll, by vehicle for transportation, etc."
"The biggest achievement is that now we do not have to use spreadsheets"
"Easy to use Rich functionality Complete corporate performance management solution Based on modern technology Cloud-ready All of them allow me to manage my business."

Cons

"There is not much training for Jedox."
"It is also not that easy as an implementation piece. It takes time to convert the business requirement into the proper solutions in the tool, which is time-consuming."
"The solution should enable a modern look and feel in the front end."
"There is room for improvement in the scalability. It is a very massive tool. It's not easy to just build everything yourself."
"I don't find it particularly user-friendly."
"Visualization is something they need to improve. We have already told them about this, and they should be working on it."
"From a development perspective, there's room for improvement in the area called the designer, where you actually build your reports to make it easier to manage the process."
"Online pixel-perfect reporting is an aspect that has room for improvement."
"Discovery was not in depth enough for our deployment to be successful – we had a lot of problems and had to take short-cuts due to a lack of planning."
"There were problems in a certain version with the speed, but they have fixed this in later versions."
"With the report writing there are some issues."
"The process speed and integration with sources of transaction detail needs work."
"Areas where you load your CapEx still need a lot of improvements. The Excel add-in is not as good as Hyperions."
"BI analytics Few related Ad Hoc Analyses in one window Sorting and filtering in Data View"
"The Microsoft multidimensional cubes does have several disadvantages in write back solutions which results in poor performance."
"The user interface could be improved as it is not an intuitive product for every type of user."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution's pricing is specific to your requirements."
"Excellent value for money."
"Jedox was a bit cheaper compared to Calumo."
"If you are using SAP, then you will have to take an SAP Connector license. The license across the tool is paying for the people who are using it as an admin or as a normal user. They can work out those costs in a manner that can help. This can also be a point of improvement where they can work out the costing, and the developers have a specific licensing cost. The normal users, who are going to do probably data entry or just going to view the dashboard, can have a separate license cost."
"We paid a one-time fee, which included product purchase, licensing, and first-time implementation. We are paying for the maintenance regularly."
"The product’s pricing will not be suitable for setting up a small solution."
