Real-time monitoring and dashboards with cost-saving licensing
SysTrack requires significant improvements. Sometimes clients experience broken links where the service doesn't run on the user's machine, causing outdated data to display. For instance, a machine's last reboot might be inaccurately shown as seven days ago instead of two days ago. Additionally, real-time data syncing issues lead to delays, requiring this to be addressed, as data might be several hours old.

ThousandEyes needs to specify unit consumption forecasting or scaling testing and deeper app analytics. It needs deeper out-of-the-box Layer 7 code or database-level insights. Additionally, it should unify the GUI with broader Cisco platforms and flatten the learning curve, adding better correlation with local laptop system metrics such as endpoint depth, CPU, RAM, or processes. ThousandEyes isn't designed to be a full-blown SNMP monitoring tool for on-premises infrastructure. While it tracks network paths effectively, it doesn't provide deep local device telemetry such as switch port buffer utilization, fan status, or power supply health. For full internal device monitoring, you'll still need to pair it with traditional tools such as SolarWinds or Cisco Catalyst Center.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I am impressed with the huge amount of information that you can get from the infrastructure."
"The visualizer feature provides end-to-end analysis on all the machines."
"SysTrack provides unique, real-time data."
"This is a powerful digital experience monitoring tool and it tracks everything."
"SysTrack gathers a lot of different metrics on every single device including performance metrics and application-related metrics such as application usage and resource utilization by applications. It collects a wide range of different metrics, and from that perspective, it's a really good tool."
"It is a very powerful tool that will make your life easier."
"From a telemetry data standpoint, it's a perfect tool."
"SysTrack saves significant time for our personnel by reducing the ticket handling time by approximately seventy percent."
"The solution's most valuable feature is the path analyzer, which identifies the node causing the errors."
"The most valuable features are integration and ease of use."
"The solution's initial setup process was straightforward...In terms of ROI, the solution is worth the money."
"The support from ThousandEyes has been the best I have had."
"The features I like the most about ThousandEyes are the visualizations that let you see how the call flow went and how many hops it took and everything."
"ThousandEyes has positively impacted our organization by enabling us to know if a third-party hosted application isn't functioning properly, allowing us to determine what's actually going on and whether the issue lies on our side or with the application provider."
"The most valuable feature of ThousandEyes is user-friendliness. It has been essential for us to have a solution that is easy to use."
"One feature I liked is end-user monitoring."

Cons

"If they can integrate some kind of remote administration tool, like the LogMeIn tool, it would be helpful for the DDS team members, as well as for the global team members. We need not search for an additional tool for troubleshooting purposes. Currently, we are using one tool for governance and then we have SysTrack for monitoring the endpoints. There are two tools, and we are spending money on both."
"The licensing model is problematic."
"When I create a dashboard for a computer-based GPO or user-based GPO, I get details of all the GPOs, but the feature that we found missing is that SysTrack doesn't state how many seconds were required to apply a GPO. It doesn't tell us how many nanoseconds, seconds, or minutes it is taking to process or apply a GPO on a machine. This feature is not there. When there are major issues, if we have the processing time in place, it will help us to identify whether it could be an issue with the domain controller or something else. It would give us a clear understanding to engage other teams for resolving the issue."
"SysTrack requires significant improvements. Sometimes clients experience broken links where the service doesn't run on the user's machine, causing outdated data to display."
"Their dashboard could be better. They did it custom, which is the main problem."
"There are a lot of issues with the solution and certain features such as the survey feature and sensors, that don't work well and need to be improved."
"Their dashboard could be better. They did it custom, which is the main problem. They should have given an option to integrate it with some of the tools such as Power BI. Unfortunately, they are developing their own native dashboarding capabilities, which is killing them, in my view. The product is good, but dashboarding has been a pain area. I have to literally learn a new BI or dashboarding solution just for a system. We have 100 such kinds of solutions in our environment. If every solution has its custom solution for dashboarding, we can't survive. It is going to be crazy."
"The interface needs to be improved because it looks ancient. If you have been working in IT for a long time, over 20 years, you might remember products from the start of your career that look almost identical to the way SysTrack looks now. The user interface is not user-friendly. When you first see the solution, it overwhelms you with everything. It's not easy to use, and it's not that intuitive."
"The tool does not provide features for application-level monitoring."
"For ThousandEyes, I am looking for AI integration, which would help us to auto-correct the problem and fix it before it creates any issues."
"ThousandEyes can be improved by making the installation procedure less time-consuming and enhancing the interface to be more user-friendly."
"Stability issues are present in the solution."
"ThousandEyes could improve by implementing a similar incident management system like BigPanda or ServiceNow."
"They only offer synthetic requests."
"Regarding needed improvements, I think the user interface could be better. It is sometimes a little confusing and should be very user-friendly, including a guide for how alerts are configured to assist first-time users."
"The solution's network and reporting could be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"If you compare cloud solutions to SysTrack, which is on-premises, then SysTrack is cheaper. If you compare the cost of SysTrack with that of other similar solutions, the cost is similar. For each master server, there's a license. In terms of end user devices, the licenses are sold in multiplications of 10. That's one upfront cost. Once you procure the license, you can use the software for as long as you like. The maintenance is sold on an annual basis. Additional costs are related to hosting and include a SQL server license and Windows server licenses."
"Cost-wise, SysTrack has a higher rate than other products, such as Nanoheal, but the features that SysTrack has aren't there in any other product available in the market."
"It is on a per-device basis. It is not on a per-user basis. I was not much engaged in the licensing piece. I was only a part of the conversation about how we are going to scale up or down, but its price, for sure, is competitive."
"It is somewhat expensive."
"I would rate the solution's pricing a six out of ten."
"In our company, we incur a yearly expense in our company for the licensing part. I rate the solution's pricing a seven out of ten since it is expensive."
"The solution is cheap."
"It is a quite expensive solution."
"The solution costs several thousand dollars per year."
"The solution's pricing is cheap; I rate it a five out of ten."
