The product has a user-friendly UI, and it provides good support, but it is expensive and difficult to setup
We are partners with the product. We use it for end-to-end automation. We can automate server-based and web-based applications. We can also do continuous integration and continuous delivery It is a low-code/no-code automation tool. The UI is user-friendly. It supports web-based and browser-based…

Provides real-time application monitoring, but the technical support services need improvement
They could improve the platform's customer support services. Many users, including myself, have experienced significant delays in response times and unsatisfactory resolutions when reaching out for assistance. The support team often provides generic recommendations that do not address the specific issues raised, leading to prolonged downtime. Additionally, there needs to be more proactive communication and follow-up on reported problems. Another area for improvement is keeping pace with updates to the latest libraries and technologies. For example, Sauce Labs' proprietary driver and Saucectl need to be updated more frequently to support the latest versions of popular testing frameworks like Playwright. This lag in compatibility means that users may miss out on critical features and improvements available in newer versions, necessitating workarounds or compromises in their testing workflows.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The UI is user-friendly."
"The most valuable of this solution is the no code option. It offers drag and drop when it comes to development and removes the need for a developer."
"It provides automated testing. Instead of us doing manual testing, we can utilize Leapwork, and it tests most of our critical processes. In the next phase, we also plan to do some process work with it, such as using Leapwork to create reports or provide certain extracts of data."
"Sauce labs is an easy to use hosted infrastructure for managing/launch all browser versions, mobile web browsers, and native mobile applications for seamless integration testing."
"It runs on the cloud, so you don't have physical setups to run all of this."
"From an infrastructure support perspective, the number of VMs, browsers installations and versions that we would be maintaining without Sauce Labs would be a lot. This includes not only the infrastructure costs, but also the maintenance costs and people's time. The labor cost associated with maintaining all of that would be considerably high. In terms of efficiency, having concurrent VMs with various browser combinations available has allowed us to run multiple executions by all our teams."
"The best feature though is the fact that they use the WebDriver protocol for executing actions on their service."
"Free and unlimited access to a variety of browsers to test your website in a real environment, not just simulating behavior."
"This service allowed me to get tests running within an hour of signing up!"
"The abundance of device, platform, and browser combinations/versions that can be used in parallel."
"We haven't had any issues with stability."

Cons

"This solution could be improved by offering better reporting related to the integration into Azure DevOps."
"It is a very comprehensive tool, and there is a significant learning curve to being able to adopt the tool. Because it does so much, there is only so much that you can learn. You can, however, do some simpler things right away. They do have a kind of boot camp where some of their experts engage with you, and during that time, you can work on the top initiatives that you want to do, and that's a good process. After you start using the tool, there is a lot more that you would want to do."
"The initial setup is difficult."
"The only thing that I don't like about the product is the need to deploy agents on the laptops of people doing the testing. So, you have an agent on a server, then you have an agent on the laptop of the person who is doing the testing, and that seems like a lot of stuff and a kind of anti-cloud. Why do I have to deploy agents on people's machines in order to do something in the cloud? I'm sure they're doing that so they can monitor their licensing and all that stuff, but it is not necessarily a friendly process."
"We had some specific features that we opened tickets on, although they were not earth-shattering. For example, the way the menus scroll could be improved because it does not have a bar, the way that people are used to, where you can move up and down."
"With the desktop browser, we can inspect any screen with the web developer option, but they should provide something for mobiles so that we can quickly inspect elements on the device. To write the Selenium scripts, we require web locators. We have to capture them from the local and execute the script on Sauce Labs. If Sauce Labs can provide a solution where we can inspect any of the mobile devices online, it will be very helpful for us."
"Sauce Labs can include new technologies like generative AI capabilities."
"I think their logging could be improved a bit, possibly to include the output that I see on my command line (print statements, etc.) which help pin-point the error (if one happens) more easily."
"Sauce Labs' dashboard could be improved by adding more filters and allowing more customization options. There was one instance where the dashboard on the Sauce Labs UI didn't meet our requirements, so we had to use the Sauce Labs API to create some apps and dashboards on our own. The API endpoints could be a little more robust and customizable."
"I can't remove team members that have left the organization. I can only set them as inactive. It would be really nice to clean up my data and delete them from the team management."
"Another aspect that could be improved is having the virtual devices boot up a little quicker. Sometimes we wait up to a minute before a device is available. It would be nice if that was 30 seconds or so."
"I think it should be a longer trial period with more parallel tests available."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The product is not cheap."
"We got a deal on it for the first year. We're paying $8,000."
"The pricing is reasonable due to the amount of diversity that they provide. However, I feel they might be more flexible to bargain based on their relationship with our organization."
"With respect to pricing, they did a bundled discount because we went with Sauce Labs for both mobile and browser. They were very competitive on pricing and provided a bundle discount for us as a larger customer."
"Go ahead please. Try it at a smaller scale."
"Compared with other services, Sauce Labs is a bit expensive."
"The pricing is definitely on the higher end, and there are other options that are more cost-effective."
"Cost-wise, it's decent. If you have to get the base version out of it, it's the best solution to go with. As compared to other cloud service providers, the pricing of Sauce Labs is decent."
"The number of concurrent VMs that Sauce Labs provides depends on your purchase license level."
"They could improve on the pricing because it seems pretty expensive. I'm sure it's justified, but it's expensive."
