Endpoint monitoring has become faster and has reduced alert response time for our clients
The best features that Alert Logic MDR offers include AI and behavior analysis, which I find most valuable. AI and behavior analysis mean that within AI there is static AI analysis and behavior analysis with subtypes. For example, if there is any file or a certain subtype, or if ransomware is happening, or any tool or app is being used, there are subtypes of AI. I appreciate that Alert Logic MDR has a separate AI for each type. Alert Logic MDR has positively impacted our organization by minimizing the alert SLA timing. When we used our other endpoint detection and response solution, we required at least fifteen minutes to raise one alert. After using Alert Logic MDR, we integrated it with SOAR technology, so within five minutes, the alert is raised to the client. Efficiency-wise, reducing the alert SLA timing to five minutes has been very beneficial. Whenever we receive an alert from endpoint detection and response from an endpoint to the Alert Logic MDR console, the system directly has the protect mode, conducting the kill and quarantine process itself. We only have to perform static analysis, and we have the playbooks, so they conduct some static analysis from there and directly raise the alert to the respective team.

Customers have found quick incident response and proactive security management through effective threat detection
Secureworks Taegis Managed XDR MDR is a great product that has not posed any challenges from my perspective. I am extremely happy with the quick response from the Secureworks team. After the Sophos merger, I look forward to seeing a better and more enhanced version of the product. The team does a phenomenal job with automatic maintenance.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
"My advice would be to go ahead with the product because it really is a very good tool that adds a lot of value."
"We receive infrastructure security warnings from it. So, we know what is going on and what needs to be addressed."
"I would definitely recommend Alert Logic because it is a good product that constantly adds new features and changes interfaces."
"Alert Logic MDR has positively impacted my organization as it has helped in detection of incidents and responding through our security team, who work around the clock."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is endpoint management...The solution's support team is quite good at giving us feedback if there is an issue."
"It implemented pretty quickly; we have everything you need, and while it would typically take a lot of other solutions weeks to set up, this set up within fifteen minutes, which is pretty slick, and it has a lot of different interfaces."
"The quick reaction and the ability to restore the state before within a short time are significant."
"The most valuable feature is the fast alerting and response time."
"The solution is great for managing alerts and dealing with them as they arise."
"We don't have a full SOC, so it's helpful to have them sifting through our alerts and only bringing actionable items to us."
"The advantage of using this solution is that the setup is done quickly and can be done in-house."
"We can easily isolate affected machines in the network."
"The knowledge base is up to date and easy to use."
"There are some patent pending detectors within the platform that provides a lot of value."
"Solved a fundamental problem that lets us all sleep well at night!"

Cons

"I think Alert Logic MDR could be improved."
"They have ideas and email you whatever they find, but they don't have a dedicated security team who will work on an attack or a specific security instance."
"This product needs to mature more. While it is a good product, there are some areas where it needs work."
"It would be great to see more of an endpoint protector."
"As a user involved with the user interface, I believe there is a need to continue improving it based on feedback from our customers."
"Our ROI would probably be zero. We don't even use it."
"If the language barrier was addressed, it would lower the barrier for a number of German customers. It would take away a unique selling point for our own specialist managed service."
"One major missing feature was the ability to see if vulnerabilities were exploitable, which required extra effort for us."
"In the next release of this solution, I would like to see file integrity monitoring."
"GUI for resolving tickets is terrible. Non-intuitive, offering a dizzying array of options, often none of which made sense even for common problems."
"The deployment could definitely be improved."
"The integration would look better with other products, with other EDRs, with other firewalls, with other older versions of firewalls, and the versions of software and hardware."
"In terms of ROI, I'd be surprised if there is any investment return on the SIM."
"This solution could be improved with a higher degree of automation such as automated emails, triggers and defining the severity of the cases."
"Tamper-proofing or tamper protection is still pending in Secureworks. Tamper protection will make it more secure. If I'm an admin of a device, I can uninstall an agent without the knowledge of the security or Secureworks admin. If someone gets hold of one endpoint with admin credentials, he can remove anything, and an organization will lose visibility. They need to work on providing more visibility across endpoints. A couple of times it has happened that the cloak agent is there, but it did not get activated, or there were some issues. The machine was restarted, but the cloak agent didn't run. In such cases, you have to troubleshoot. It is a big issue if a cyber attack is happening, and your machine is rebooted, but the events are not captured."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR's query language and stability need improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Our ROI would probably be zero. We don't even use it. It sits in there. We get emails and just delete them. Around the world, we don't even use it."
"Alert Logic has better competitive pricing than some of its competitors."
"Its pricing is very reasonable considering what you get for what you pay. There is quite a good value there. Its licensing is also very logical. They've got the licensing price points at a reasonable level. It is on a monthly license but a yearly contract. There are no additional costs to the standard licensing fees."
"Almost any product that is on the AWS Marketplace is super easy to subscribe to."
"Price-wise, Cybereason Managed Detection & Response is effective for larger companies, but if you have a small company with less than 1,000 employees, then it gets expensive."
"Price of the solution was very reasonable considering the size of our organization at the time, and so it worked out perfectly."
"It is expensive but there is no better product than this."
"The Red Cloak agent is free."
"Initially, the cost was going to be something around $160 or $170. And eventually, I think they brought it down to $110 and they also threw in some endpoint protection platforms."
"The pricing for this solution is reasonable. One agent costs approximately 270 dirhams/70 USD for one year. There is a reduction in cost per licence as the number of licences used increases."
"The pricing of Dell Secureworks is very reasonable."
"The price is kind of on par. The licensing was comparable to other solutions. It's not particularly high or low."
"Secureworks Taegis ManagedXDR is very expensive and could be more cost-effective."
