Network management and diagnostics improved through effective monitoring and reporting capabilities
The solution is handy. I have not used that particular feature. Maintenance is required for the system. If you want to use something on the endpoints or end-user devices, then using LiveAction LiveNX in place of other tools would be quite beneficial. The solution impacts operational costs and resources. On a scale of 1-10, I rate LiveAction LiveNX a nine.

Significant enhancement in operations with powerful discovery and analytics, yet pricing structure poses challenges
ServiceNow IT Operations Management provides out-of-the-box dashboards. Along with the dashboard, it also provides the Operations Workspace, which is very useful for operations teams. There is a functionality called Performance Analytics, which we are also using to develop some dashboards for the senior leadership and operations team where they can perform trend analysis of alerts and events happening across the infrastructure and application landscape. These dashboards are really useful here. ServiceNow IT Operations Management's biggest plus point is that it is a platform. ITOM is just one module that ServiceNow IT Operations Management offers, but they provide seamless integration of ITOM with their other modules such as ITSM, where we can leverage the AIs for discovery, perform impact analysis, which essentially helps to enhance the overall IT operations and reduce the downtime and MTTR.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The product has a very good graphical interface."
"All in all, LiveAction LiveNX has become an indispensable tool for maintaining and improving our network's reliability and performance, ultimately supporting our organization's goal of providing timely and dependable delivery services."
"The alerting feature is very good because it allows you to set MOS alerts at various network junctures or data points."
"We provide a tool for our customers to manage their reports. It's an extremely highly featured platform capable of producing a lot of data. We spent quite a long time working with customers and LiveAction to create template reports, and they're very good and configurable. You get a lot of data if you don't configure them."
"One of the valuable features is the ability to create CLI scripts on the fly to fix any issues. We were using it for QoS modeling to ensure that we were properly modeling QoS, and it basically said here is what you need to fix to get this QoS done, whether it is ACL or something else. It would either push or recommend. If you have the right credentials, you could also push. It is very good if you are a Cisco shop. It gives you reporting, latency, and bandwidth utilization for your applications, so you can do good capacity management planning. There are a lot of pieces that LiveNX can give you. It is a total NPM solution for SD-WAN."
"On a scale of 1-10, I rate LiveAction LiveNX a nine."
"Its analytical capability is really good."
"The intention and the idea of the filter is great."
"It is a market leader and is very implementation-friendly. Developers have a clear understanding of how the solution works, and it is mature enough to handle different client needs."
"From my perspective as an asset manager, the most valuable feature of the solution is the configuration management portion, where I can actively add something to the database."
"The end-to-end ticketing process is most valuable in ServiceNow IT Operations Management because its notification feature is excellent in keeping all users informed on the next step compared to BMC. I also like that ServiceNow IT Operations Management is very user-friendly."
"The initial setup is very straightforward. A person just needs to join a team to access the network and that's all."
"It is a very stable solution."
"The auto remediation feature has been most valuable. They have also introduced an AOP feature of ServiceNow that we are keen to explore."
"Has service mapping, impact management, metric intelligence and health of analytics."
"Our ROI since implementing ServiceNow ITOM has been significant."

Cons

"Maintenance is required for the system."
"Improved documentation and more responsive customer support can help in addressing issues faster."
"It is not as robust as other NPM solutions. For instance, there is a problem while labeling specific applications. It works well with well-known applications, but when you have to put in new applications that are not very known and set them up with names, ports, URLs, or some protocols, it is not as intuitive."
"This is a horrible solution and I think everything needs to be improved."
"The tool crashes sometimes when we try to pull reports simultaneously."
"The product is weak in multi-tenancy. We have to install multiple instances of LiveAction, whereas we would like to build it once for our customers."
"Sometimes the solution does not register devices properly and that is a bug."
"The only downside to this software is the price."
"The service discovery tool should include HR automations that automatically remove an employee who is leaving."
"It should have better integrations with other solutions."
"My managers would say that the price is too high. We wanted to also have the visibility version of it, but it's too expensive for us. Going for visibility would have doubled up the price."
"If you are new to using the solution, you will find the setup complex."
"The pattern part can be improved. Patterns are used in the Discovery feature. Although it is easy to create new patterns and modify the existing ones, it would be better if this solution can have more out-of-the-box patterns. In terms of new features, they can include artificial intelligence, something like machine learning."
"The solution’s licensing cost could be improved."
"We are facing difficulties with service mapping of CIs from the end users, and are seeking help from third-party vendors."
"The vendor support rates between five to six because it takes a lot of time to get issues resolved, whether minor or major. For minor issues, the team takes a month's time to provide a fix."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's very expensive."
"The solution is fairly expensive compared to other products."
"We use the free version."
"The solution is costly compared to the products offered by its competitors."
"We obtained discovery licenses at about seven dollars Australian per unit, which we found to be reasonable and competitive."
"While not entirely sure, I believe the solution costs at least a million dollars annually."
"The pricing is high and may be excluding the small to medium-sized enterprise businesses."
"I would rate the product's pricing a five out of ten since there are vendors who are cheaper."
"It has different subscription models."
"The cost of ServiceNow is much higher."
"This solution offers good value but comes at a very high premium. Pricing could be reduced by 10 to 20%."
