Meeting industry standards now and for the future, straightforward setup, with reliability
The most valuable feature is the user-friendly mechanism that makes it possible to easily integrate its data with external, contextually important data, so that wholistic data analytics can be performed from a GRC perspective. At TCS, we have created add-ons to allow this software to be able to import and export data using industry standards like OMG’s XMI (XML Metadata Interchange).

Centralized management strengthens compliance with good look and feel
From my perspective as a customer and end user, Archer has an impressive look and feel, but the most adaptive feature is its ease of configuration which helps to enhance our process according to our maturity. It's more about our organization getting centralized with an integrated approach that focuses on risk governance and compliance. When can provide a detailed dashboards to management with the details of risks from top-down or bottom-up prioritizing actions based on its criticality or necessity. This allows us to show end users and management where the issues lie and effectively demonstrate accountability and visibility in compliance.

Pros

"The most valuable feature is the ability to import and export using industry standards like XMI and XML metadata interchange managing the data in and data out."
"We compared Methodware against IBM and Archer."
"The most valuable feature is the user-friendly mechanism that makes it possible to easily integrate its data with external, contextually important data, so that holistic data analytics can be performed from a GRC perspective."
"Previously, they were purely on Excel files and getting data from the applications inside Excel or Word format, and I think this is the first solution they went to, and this is the best tool for GRC, governance, risk, and compliance."
"The integrated data model of a one-to-many/many-to-one relationship is quite useful."
"RSA Archer is a valuable tool because it can manage the end-to-end functioning of any enterprise GRC module, such as compliance and risk management or business continuity plans and the entire BCM module."
"I have found all the features to be valuable, including those involving reporting, the dashboard, notifications, email modules, the database and data input."
"Archer allows us to define the progress of the organization's processes and helps build the right cyclic process and improve the current structure."
"Reporting is excellent for all types of aggregators, as well as for different types of integrators."
"It is easy to implement, it is easy to change the workflow, and it is easy to customize the processes."
"It is a very friendly tool, we can easily understand what is going on inside the tool, work with it for the ERP platform, create automated applications based on the requirements, and it is very secure with three levels of access at the field level, application level, and code level."

Cons

"We are currently working on making Essence one hundred percent compliant and we are not there yet."
"We are currently working on making this software 100% compliant with the main method standard in the industry, i.e. “Essence”."
"The administrative console is not always the most intuitive"
"It's resource-hungry, that's the best way of putting it."
"The tech support team's turnaround time is often slow."
"If you need to integrate the RSA products with another SEIM solution, then it doesn't work properly."
"It would be nice if RSA Archer featured more customization. When customers are updating, they should be notified whether certain updates are optional. The install screen should not proceed to the next page unless we make some selections about which updates we want to install."
"There should be an in-built feature that allows live data from vulnerabilities and threats from reliable sources to be streamed directly through their data field."
"The main improvement I would like to see in the on-premises version is the amount of data the product can hold."
"In the current version, RSA is a little slow mainly because of Silverlight which I believe has been removed in the next version."
"While the AI features are emerging and the cost is comparatively low, it's not yet up to the market standard."
