Security focus and seamless implementation increase platform productivity
Microsoft Entra ID can be improved in many ways, and there's a big wish list.If we're focusing on security, something that I definitely expect is improvement in the UI and UX for frontline workers. This is important, especially for non-tech savvy individuals. It is something Microsoft Entra ID could do to improve for a wider audience. It's important to focus on the frontline workers since they are non-tech savvy individuals. They are not like those back-office engineering C-level employees who are constantly dealing with computers, and we need to build a specific user experience and user interface for them to handle this stuff. That's something I expect Microsoft to focus on more for Microsoft Entra ID.

Multi-Factor Authentication, stable, and extremely scalable
I use NetIQ Access Manager to protect one single application with Multi-Factor Authentication. The solution is deployed on both cloud and on-prem The Multi-Factor Authentication of NetIQ Access Manager has helped protect our organization. The most valuable features of NetIQ Access Manager are…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The most beneficial feature would be the effectiveness of having a hybrid set-up."
"Microsoft Entra ID provides granular role assignments for Azure permissions or Azure AD roles. Using a privileged identity manager allows us to give specific access to certain groups of employees for a limited time. Entra's ability to integrate Azure Virtual Machines and security benefits has been exceptional, especially for managing infrastructure and applications."
"We're using the whole suite: device management, user credentials, everything that's possible."
"The most valuable feature of Entra ID is having a cloud-based identity, similar to Google's single sign-on."
"I'd rate Microsoft Entra ID a 10 out of 10 due to the extensive range and focus on security features."
"What I like is that I can go anywhere, at any time, and to any client premise, and I can simply log in to the admin panel and can serve any of my clients."
"The implementation of device-bound passkeys in Microsoft Authenticator helps with phishing-resistant authentication."
"Having access to Azure Active Directory on the cloud gives us speed and use of the latest technology. The application services are very good, such as GitHub."
"The most valuable features of NetIQ Access Manager are SSO and Multi-Factor Authentication."
"The single sign-on feature is excellent."
"There are lots of options to customize the solution to your needs."
"The features that we have found most valuable with NetIQ Access Manager are its single sign-on and two factor two second factor database."
"It's very easy to integrate with applications."

Cons

"Microsoft Entra ID should improve workload identities. It should set conditional access."
"The transition from on-prem Active Directory to the Azure Cloud was difficult because there aren't group policy objectives. This is handled differently in the Azure cloud environment."
"There have been a couple of outages so that I would rate the stability around a seven out of 10."
"The support could be better. Lately, they sort of dropped off a bit in terms of quality."
"On-premise capabilities for information and identity management need improvement."
"At the free or basic level of service, Azure should provide identity protection features including single sign-on and multifactor authentication."
"The custom role creation function could be improved as it's somewhat tricky to use."
"There are areas for improvement, particularly when moving between tenants. If we create a new tenant and try to set it up under the same organization, it becomes extremely difficult. A recent incident we dealt with took four months to resolve with a seven-day deadline, which was quite frustrating."
"I would love to see the upgrade procedure handled more effectively. I would prefer to have OVS installation possibilities, although the upgrade procedures should include the OS as well. You should be able to use the whole application as an appliance."
"Classification of junctions and new versions of applications, such as APIs, can be added to enable the use of more devices that utilize biometrics for Multi-Factor Authentication to improve the solution."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the security of the infrastructure and the server and the working networking device."
"The application portal could be improved with more options and easier customization."
"Having the ability to easily extract and view and compare and version control configurations would be ideal."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is good, and we have no complaints."
"Microsoft Entra ID's pricing is reasonable."
"I'm not totally aware of the pricing and licensing, but I do know that the pricing and licensing must be quite balanced. We are a pretty old client of Microsoft, and MSA is just one of the services we use from Microsoft. There's a whole Microsoft 365 suite that's implemented as well. I'm sure it is something that is acceptable to both parties."
"The pricing for companies and businesses is okay, it's fair. But if you are trying to teach someone about Azure AD, there is no licensing option for that... It would be nice to have a 'learning' license, one that is cheaper for a single person."
"The licensing model is straightforward. I don't think there are any issues with the E3 license or E5 license."
"The pricing for Azure Active Directory is affordable; I would rate the cost a six out of ten."
"Our customers are looking for advanced features and processes for it to be cost-effective for their organizations. They see it as an overpriced product. They are enjoying using Azure Active Directory, but they are looking for better prices."
"This product is sold as part of the enterprise package and our licensing fees are paid on a yearly basis."
"The price of the solution is average."
