Authentication process improves security with quick and intuitive user interface
The best feature is the speed and execution of Okta Workforce Identity. The moment you click on single sign-on, you immediately get the notification on your mobile phone, then you do the authentication and within a second you get authenticated. The entire customer experience is very good. The user interface is pretty simple, straightforward, and really good. Multi-factor authentication in Okta Workforce Identity is very useful so people who do not have access or are trying to access using just a user ID and password will be completely blocked because of this two-factor authentication. You will get the code, and as your device is authorized in the system, only that device can be used for the authentication purpose. A third person trying to access or hack your data will not be able to do that anymore. Additionally, you don't have to remember your passwords going forward. Previously, every 60 days or 90 days, passwords kept changing. With the two-factor authentication or single sign-on option in Okta Workforce Identity, you don't have to remember it anymore or write down passwords in plain text. If something goes wrong, we have the IAM team which can unlock your account immediately if you have issues.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"This solution has a lot of capabilities and features."
"We find the solution to be reliable for our customers and it is nice that it is cloud-based and can be accessed from anywhere."
"The product requires very little maintenance."
"Other than Okta being an easy and awesome integration tool, one of the best features it has is the provisioning and deprovisioning, which makes management way easier. You don't need to be too technical to understand how it works."
"The provisioning functionality has been the most valuable. This solution has good performance, fast integration and is very responsive."
"You can only log in if you have the access, which protects the applications by avoiding cross-site scripting."
"Workforce Identity's best features include its user-friendliness and easy setup."
"The tool provides a single place of contact for managing users. We only need to manage users in Okta Workforce Identity, eliminating the need to duplicate efforts across different systems. For example, if a user needs to be decommissioned, we don't have to go through all the systems and cloud services; we delete the user in one place. This process is automated with our HR system for both organizations, simplifying user lifecycle management."
"The single sign-on feature is excellent."
"The features that we have found most valuable with NetIQ Access Manager are its single sign-on and two factor two second factor database."
"There are lots of options to customize the solution to your needs."
"The most valuable features of NetIQ Access Manager are SSO and Multi-Factor Authentication."
"It's very easy to integrate with applications."

Cons

"Okta doesn't have a partial push. It pushes down the full profile schema for lifecycle management or provisioning."
"If that phone or device gets stolen, somebody else can log into the system using that code."
"In some setup cases, there are issues with attributes not going in properly."
"We experienced some technical glitches that need to be resolved."
"On the admin side, we can create our own passwords instead of generating one, which is usually difficult to explain to a user."
"Okta Workforce Identity could improve the way passwords are reset and how it interfaces with Microsoft."
"Whenever I write Cypress test cases, we encounter problems with logging in through Okta."
"We still had to write several internal programs/scripts to complete the user-provisioning process. Okta does not have the ability to provision mailbox accounts for on-premise Exchange or in a hybrid O365 environment. The Group Push function from Okta to AD did not work reliably in our environment."
"I would love to see the upgrade procedure handled more effectively. I would prefer to have OVS installation possibilities, although the upgrade procedures should include the OS as well. You should be able to use the whole application as an appliance."
"In terms of what could be improved, I would say the security of the infrastructure and the server and the working networking device."
"Having the ability to easily extract and view and compare and version control configurations would be ideal."
"The application portal could be improved with more options and easier customization."
"Classification of junctions and new versions of applications, such as APIs, can be added to enable the use of more devices that utilize biometrics for Multi-Factor Authentication to improve the solution."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The licensing model is fine for general service usage. However, the charges for API features and API tokens can be quite high."
"The price of this product could be lower."
"The product's price is high. For each feature, a certain payment is required."
"It is costly for large companies."
"This is an expensive solution but the security makes it worthwhile."
"The cost per user for this solution is really high and could be reduced."
"The licensing is per user per month and includes full technical support."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"The price of the solution is average."
