A suitable choice for unified and efficient infrastructure monitoring across diverse environments providing user-friendly GUI, cost-effectiveness, and versatility
We use it for this specific client, they've deployed multiple instances of it across various locations to facilitate monitoring. To effectively monitor their infrastructure, it seems necessary to implement additional monitoring solutions for all three types of devices they have Nagios Fusion…

Real-time alerts have reduced server outage impact and support fast incident response
In the dashboard, if they could show a little more metrics regarding the application and related things, that would be how New Relic could be improved. Currently, there are things showing from the server level and application level, but it can be improved. That is what I felt. Regarding user interface, I do not feel much concern, but for some kind of issues when we are trying to get support from the New Relic team, their SLA seems to be long. They are taking seven to ten working days for resolving some kind of scenario or issue. That is a bit difficult for us. If they could improve the customer support by reducing their SLA within three to five days, if they could remediate everything, that will be so much helpful. When it comes to the customer support part, I felt they need to be a little more improved on that part. The support overall is good, but they can improve. That is the reason I have given it eight out of ten.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Nagios Fusion version 12.8 excels in user-friendly GUI design, cost-effectiveness, and ease of deployment."
"It is easier for client installation, and the configurations are doable even for a newcomer in the field."
"Being open source lets us customize it for our monitoring needs, saving us money."
"It's very easy to manage and monitor it."
"New Relic is the right solution in my opinion."
"The solution is good for sending alerts, drawing graphs about system usage, and creating plug-ins."
"The most valuable feature of the solution is its ability to execute queries and analyze the data."
"The service map feature is very useful."
"We have never faced any issues with this solution, and we are not worried about the technical capability."
"It has the ability to monitor random URLs not tied to the one pinger per application (though it costs extra)."
"I advise that New Relic is the best APM tool available, providing everything you need to pinpoint root causes for performance bottlenecks and serving as an effective observability tool for production telemetry metrics."
"It has a simple initial setup."

Cons

"In future iterations of this solution, there is a desire for more seamless integration with other monitoring software."
"There are some bugs, although not that many. There are some situations where the solution is not stable but the number of problems is not very high."
"Adding application performance monitoring to the product alongside infrastructure monitoring would make it a more complete and useful solution."
"Nagios Fusion should include a 'remember me' option when logging in, so we don't need to enter a username and password every time."
"There is no proper management of roles and divisions; if I develop a dashboard for myself, everyone else has access to it, and you just add someone to the platform and he gets access to all the dashboards."
"One thing that we noticed was that historical information was only for a limited period, which was not helpful in certain scenarios."
"We would like a dashboard feature to be created for this product. This would allow us to monitor both the front and back-end of our UI's performance, and then report on it."
"More configurability through the dashboard, for example, being able to ignore transactions without the need to update the config or code."
"The product has good documentation for Linux, however, their documentation for Windows is lacking substantially. It's something they need to develop."
"Sometimes we've noticed agents fail to report/respond."
"The pricing model. New Relic can be expensive for growing startups."
"It helps prevent issues but does not cause losses. The error messages and deep insights may help us find the root cause and resolve the issue, but it could be a bit better."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing is quite reasonable, especially when compared to the broader market."
"We're paying for the New Relic APM license annually."
"I loved this product, but we can no longer afford it, so we dropped it."
"I think the pricing is reasonable."
"The solution is priced reasonably. New Relic APM is one of the best products for me because it's economical, so anyone can easily pick it over other solutions and use it."
"The pricing and licensing are good if you have an account manager and a partner manager who are looking to help out."
"This is an expensive product."
"The new licensing model is great, as we pay for what we use (in computational units). However, the pricing is expensive compared to other tools."
"The solution is less expensive than AppNeta."
