Centralized identity governance has automated lifecycle management and simplifies compliance
One Identity Manager could be improved by making the initial setup and configuration simpler, especially for complex workflows and integrations. The user interface and reporting dashboards could also be more modern and intuitive with better out-of-the-box analytics. Additionally, clearer documentation and faster implementation guidance would help organizations get value more quickly. One specific challenge my team encountered was the complexity during initial configuration, especially when setting up custom workflows and role models which required more time and expertise. We also felt that out-of-the-box reports and dashboards are limited, and more customizable real-time analytics would be helpful. Better documentation and guided setup wizards would make adoption easier, particularly for teams new to identity governance tools. One improvement I think One Identity Manager needs is the enhanced self-service experience. The end-user self-service portal could be more intuitive with clearer guidance for access requests and password resets. Additionally, while integrations are solid, deeper cloud-native connectors and API-driven automation would help in hybrid and multi-cloud environments. A more responsive mobile interface or dedicated app for approvals and tasks would help managers who are often on the go. One more improvement is the built-in predictive insights or trend dashboards around access patterns and risk could improve proactive governance. More descriptive error messages and in-tool troubleshooting tips during setup configuration would reduce dependency on external documentation or support.

One of the challenges regarding Saviynt is the lack of material available on the web, as searching on Google or YouTube often yields little information. Advertising Saviynt is necessary because I was not aware of it a couple of months ago, and it is a very helpful product for many organizations. In India, IGA solutions are not widely recognized, and Saviynt can utilize this point by promoting itself in the cybersecurity field. A significant challenge is the lack of people discussing Saviynt in the open market, as the forums provide slower responses compared to platforms like Reddit. Advancements related to AI would be very helpful. Saviynt should provide pricing for their university certifications, which is currently not publicly available. Information about enrolling requires an ID that is not easily obtained, as it can only be acquired through an organization. Some small wishlist features are related to APIs. As I work on projects, I find certain features to be much needed, but at a glance, they may not seem necessary. As I continue working with Saviynt, these small API-related features become apparent and would greatly enhance the experience.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"My favorite feature is the visualization, because when you open an identity, you can see what is linked to it, such as rules or departments, and I really appreciate how you can see things that are connected rather than just viewing them in a list from a database."
"For me, personally, the automation is the most valuable feature. I don't have to do things manually, like creating user accounts and provisioning them to the target systems."
"One Identity enables us to provide users with permissions for only the roles that they need. We can use segmentation to ensure that users don't have roles that can cause trouble in the business."
"Business roles are one way to help companies to identify job codes and position codes. It enables the grouping and automating of certain types of access for certain departments... Doing that in One Identity Manager is a very simple task and it is very well organized."
"The best features of One Identity Manager are the synchronization project, the mapping, onboarding using CSV, and the designer tool which allows us to write our own custom workflows."
"One Identity Manager is a strong enterprise-grade identity governance solution that delivers real value once it is implemented correctly."
"The One Identity birthright process has helped generate user accounts more accurately and quickly."
"The best features in One Identity Manager include the new Angular portal, which is the best improvement they made by removing the old portal; this feature gives you access to customize and create endpoints, APIs, and now it makes sense because you can expose and create endpoints from your tables and other target systems can use them and add or remove from your database and trigger processes with APIs."
"We have found the implementation process to be very easy."
"The product has a great attestation feature."
"The product's initial setup phase is simple."
"One of the tool's advantages is its user-friendly interface, making it easier to manipulate from a GUI perspective. The graphical user interface for users and administrators is straightforward. While it may require more configuration initially, once set up, it becomes more accessible and easier to use."
"The solution handles backflow very well."
"Saviynt is easy to configure and manage."
"The most valuable feature is the ease of implementation."
"It gives very good and in-depth knowledge about a particular identity, and everything is through a single click, so we get to know the workflows related to a particular identity with a single click."

Cons

"The product is quite scalable, except for the database which is not highly available."
"It would be nice to have more functionality in terms of connecting SAP systems, provisioning user accounts through SAP systems, and provisioning additional attributes."
"The support from One Identity is very poor. The response is often delayed and lacks actionable advice, such as suggesting updates without confidence in their effectiveness."
"One Identity Manager's documentation is something they can improve, and I believe much of this is related to translation since it is a German company."
"The documentation is poor. For example, the synchronization editor has a lot of things happening, but there's just a description. If you want to do something specific with that like create custom views, they just say go to the extension and select the UUID. However, if we don't have a UUID for this view, it will not work. That isn't in the documentation."
"The newest web front end should enhance user experience for individuals who infrequently use the interface, as it currently isn't very intuitive."
"I find that the user experience and intuitiveness of One Identity Manager are quite confusing."
"The product must include SaaS in the future."
"The biggest drawback is that for every change you want to make, you have to go back to them and ask for it."
"The configuration process at the beginning can be difficult, depending on the complexity of the company."
"The tool is difficult to migrate."
"UI and support could be improved. The frequent updates and version changes can be disruptive for large organizations. Not every month, a large organization can go with the changes. Saviynt needs to consider this carefully."
"One of the challenges regarding Saviynt is the lack of material available on the web, as searching on Google or YouTube often yields little information."
"The customer support and implementation services need to be improved."
"The solution does not work very well as the number of users increases."
"It should support more customizations. In SailPoint, we can do many customizations, but we are not able to do that in Saviynt."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It's costlier that some other products, and there is nothing that fits every solution."
"Start with an operations team that is motivated to learn a lot in a short period of time. The longer you wait, the more expensive it will be to get the right level of expertise in this area."
"We have the premium support and are very satisfied. They are always answer our questions very quickly. For the moment, we are very satisfied, but I think it's because we are paying for the premium support."
"The price of One Identity Manager is cheaper than SailPoint."
"One Identity Manager's pricing is reasonable."
"From a cost perspective, One Identity has the biggest bang for the buck."
"It is fairly priced because they provide all the features by default. That is why they charge a bit more than other vendors. I am not sure about the exact cost part, but One Identity is a little bit more expensive than IBM and other tools."
"I believe the pricing is fair."
"The pricing is comparable to Azure Entra ID. Kind of the same"
"The product is less expensive than one of the competitors."
"Saviynt's pricing is acceptable and licensing costs are yearly."
"If you are investing in securing your data and avoiding any non-compliance issues, then yes, it is certainly recommended. To put it plainly, if you're willing to pay fines and aren't concerned about the misuse of data, then there might not be a problem. However, if you intend to safeguard the data of your employees, vendors, and customers, it becomes crucial. In this context, managing data security requires preventive and detective measures, such as enforcing segregation of duties and regularly reviewing permissions. Throughout an individual's life cycle within an organization or customer life cycle, various access permissions are granted. Without taking action on these permissions, there is a risk of exposure later on. If individuals retain access after leaving the organization, it poses a serious security threat. Implementing solutions like Saviynt can address these challenges, ensuring continuous access review, generating reports, alerts, and identifying potential risks."
"We are not into the licensing part. The clients take care of the licensing part."
"If you need to make any changes then there are additional fees."
"Saviynt has a competitive price."
"The solution has a pay-as-you-go licensing model, and you can subscribe monthly or yearly."
