Helps us with our compliance goals, native quality management systems and with the legacy systems in our organization
To improve the product, it needs some enhancement to the application's interface to be more user-friendly. The product has all the features that we need and we can depend upon it. My issue with the product is that it is not easy to use without a guide or a proper manual. That is my point. It is not very friendly to use. For example, we may need the application to be more friendly in other sorts of ways. If we have an integrated module that allows access to the features we want through one click, you do not need to make it two or three clicks on the screen. The interface can be better designed to easily provide access to the features you need. The feature I would like to see in the next release is just for it to be more friendly to use and to be like a smart application that intuits your movement through the application. It needs to be something that works smoothly and intelligent without any complicated navigation of screens.

Drilling into change lifecycles has given me clear end to end traceability for every item
Reporting is my main area of concern. Additionally, the migration activity and portability are important areas for improvement. If I needed to move from Jira to Rally Software, having built-in portability or migration utilities would be beneficial. At the time of my use, there was not an inbuilt capability to migrate applications from other third-party solutions to Rally Software. Currently, I am not using Rally Software.

"AccuRev is a better tool in general."
"It has a user friendly UI which has been very much appreciated by our organization."
"The solution is very scalable and it's been quite scalable for our organization's purpose."
"We have seen a bonified return on investment."
"Easy to use on Window platform."
"The most valuable feature is the Business Process Testing feature, BPT, because it brings in the most revenue."
"Customer Service: Excellent. Our original pre-sales technical contact is now in a different position within the sales organization, but is still willing to field questions, and get the right resources involved to speed up the delivery of customer service."
"We can very easily run a report that clearly shows the amount of effort we’re investing in initiatives and features."
"Efficiency and effectiveness in our processes have improved by 10 percent with this tool."
"It has helped a great deal in the fact that we are able to take small chunks of data and get them actually moved forward end to end."
"It allows us to work in a more dynamic fashion and track more of the development lifecycle."
"It helps with getting the alignment between strategy and execution for the product teams, all the way down to the delivery teams."
"If you are looking for a stable ALM that supports the agile process, this is the solution to go with."
"It has made our company more organized and it is helping us be more true to the agile principle."
"We've actually used it for virtual PI planning. We have teams in different locations, and we actually virtually do PI planning, big-room planning, using the tools."

Cons

"Source code conflicts are like evil twins."
"It is difficult to gain experience with the product because resources and documentation for learning are not available."
"The tool has an issue whereby it restarts its services on its own."
"Because AccuRev is a centralized SCM, Microfocus will always need to work to improve performance relative to distributed SCM."
"The pricing should be more competitive."
"Stability needs improvement. It has some minor defects that could be improved."
"In the next release, I would like to have a repository for the code which is embedded. Apart from that, it has everything I need."
"Limited reporting features for management."
"To me, the biggest thing I see that needs improvement is the navigation."
"As a result, we cannot use this tool for defect management."
"What I don't like about it is that it is really hard to find old work to reference information and use the reporting section of the application in terms of trying to analyze trends. If I am trying to find out which interfaces took this long and I want to compare and measure improvement from one quarter to another quarter, the reporting mechanism within Rally is very troublesome. They have an Excel plugin that you're supposed to use, but you literally have to pull the raw data out before you can do the analysis. You can't do it within Rally, and if you can, it is a secret, and I don't know how to do it. It should have better, easier, and user-friendly reporting without having to use the Excel add-in. It is very clunky. There is a lot of data in there, but it is not organized in such a way that makes it intuitive. You really have to kind of look for where do you put your documentation or dates. Some customization is available, but it is not plug-and-play like Jira. When I switched from TFS to Jira, I just went and started using Jira, whereas with Rally, you kind of have to really get in and figure out what you need to do before you set stuff up, or you're going to get yourself stuck. You can just start using Jira and be successful."
"The text editor is for sure an area with room for improvement."
"Primarily, producing more meaningful dashboards is what we have given to them, saying "customizable." Customized reporting, so that rather than going to them, if I can produce my own UI, that would be meaningful."
"More importantly, we are seeing internal challenges from Atlassian because of their highly integrated suite that enables further automation and centralization of activities that are also highly necessary – messaging notifications cued off builds, collaboration on Solution Architecture Documentation, etc."
"I would like for workspace admins to be able to hide projects in the Project Picker and not lose any historical data; make them invisible to certain users, visible to certain users, depending on permission sets. That would be lovely."
"There are few customisation options. For instance, the workflow for story cards cannot be changed out of the box from the standard (Defined, In-Progress, Completed and Accepted)."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It is a lower cost than other top competetors."
"From a price point, it's a cost effective solution for our needs."
"I don't know the exact pricing, but I think the tool is priced high. They provide quality workmanship, good software, regular upgrades, and they're always attentive and listen to users. Everything comes with a price. I think it's an expensive solution compared to Jira or other competitors, but it's a complete package."
"It is expensive and may not be worthwhile for a small company."
"I understand it's a little more expensive. That is why many people prefer Jira."
"Frankly, pricing is expensive and needs to be carefully planned for when budgeting."
"We are always looking for a discount, if the solution was less expensive it would be a benefit."
"The license costs are fairly high as compared to some of the other solutions out there."
"Rally Software costs $50 a month, and for a base account, that price is acceptable."
