User-level monitoring with near-real-time analytics boosts service availability
The use case is about user-level monitoring and the availability of a service for a user. It's about whether the service is available, its performance, and the type of errors a user is receiving, from a user perspective The functions that Real User Monitor is intended for, which is to provide the…

Real-time monitoring has improved our banking API performance and supports detailed business transaction analysis
The real-time monitoring is what we can see for anything that is needed in terms of CPU, memory, or the connections or the sessions related. It's real-time monitoring of performance of each of the components, which is what we need and use all the time. It's highly effective, I would say. Infrastructure visibility, transaction monitoring, to check the actual user experience in terms of the response time, MRT and all those things. We do the component monitoring like the API performance and the connections and all those things, but we also do the business process monitoring and business transaction monitoring.

"The technical support is good at resolving issues."
"Real User Monitor has improved our productivity."
"If you have an old-fashioned infrastructure with data center servers then this is a good solution for you."
"The Micro Focus technical support is quite good."
"It is a good product."
"We found this to be a stable product."
"The reporting feature is good for us."
"The monitoring is similar to Dynatrace."
"Overall, this is a good product and it is one of our top recommendations."
"It is a stable solution that helps address user issues well."
"APM really helps us in getting down to the bottom of these sorts of workloads; how code responds to these sorts of workloads and how we can make our application deliver better latency and a better end-user experience."
"In 2014 and 2015, AppDynamics was one of the best products on the market."
"The alert mechanism in AppDynamics enhances server management tasks by using agents installed on each server."
"This is a good product and one that I definitely recommend."
"Everything that AppDynamics yields we use in some way."

Cons

"Customer support needs to improve by bringing in more people who are knowledgeable about the tool, as there are very few left."
"This technology is considered to be older."
"Most of the dashboards require a lot of configuration. We are not happy with the dashboard."
"The diagnostics perspective, particularly in terms of the root cause analysis of failures, should be improved."
"The solution's technical support presents a lot of issues with too many delays."
"I have to say that I am very disappointed with this solution. It's very heavy, and it is a nightmare to deploy and maintain."
"There have been some issues with customers implementing this solution and with login errors, which could be areas for improvement."
"The product needs more R&D to make it easier and more compatible with other software."
"The solution's pricing could be improved and made more competitive."

"The networking monitor function could be better, we are not getting many details from it."
"Transactions are not collected across the board."
"I recommend choosing Dynatrace over AppDynamics Database Monitoring as it's easier to use."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price is approximately €30,000 ($35,500 USD) for the enterprise edition."
"Compared to other tools, OpenText Real User Monitoring is an expensive solution."
"Not expensive."
"If I compare with other vendors, other vendors are more expensive"
"AppDynamics Database Monitoring is expensive. I rate it a seven to eight out of ten."
"It could be a bit lower, but looking at the scalability, functionality, and other things, you can understand why AppDynamics is so expensive as compared to some of the cheaper products that don't have that full single pane of glass they've got. Dynatrace has got three different elements that you need to log into just to get a full view, which is not so good, and because of that, it is a bit cheaper."
"There is no standard license instead, the license is adapted to the organization's requirements."
"The cost is prohibitive."
"It is expensive. However, our time to recover has been reduced, and this product has helped recuperate costs and provided us with ROI."
"AppDynamics is one of the most expensive solutions on the market."
"If one is expensive and ten is low price, I rate the product price as seven out of ten."
"The price of AppDynamics could be reduced in my region."
