Has connected financial data across departments and improved future cash flow planning
I would like to improve the integration with other solutions, as I need everything integrated, like the HR module, purchase module, SCM, production, and engineering. Each and every module should be connected to the finance module, and I think Oracle provides the right solution. Also, SAP, IFS, or Microsoft Dynamics 365 offer some solutions, but I am not as happy with them as I am with Oracle. I believe that Oracle E-Business Suite could improve by transitioning from Java-based scripts in our system to a web-based environment. While Oracle already has JD Edwards available in web-based format, I think it needs to be smoother for optimization and presentation in the future. In comparison, IFS is fully web-based, and all applications are sufficiently good and user-friendly. We are developing and trying to improve to a web-based setup, but it is currently too costly.

My clients became more productive as they view the data in real time, yet because you can only dispatch a work order for a maximum of 14 days, it doesn't quite work for enterprise organizations.
It is more valuable to the client than to me. Their field engineers use ServiceMax on an iPad app to capture information on the product that they are working on. They can also use the mobile for laptop app on their laptops and capture information while offline. The client's organization became…

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Oracle E-Business Suite is easy to use, and we have enough resources out in the market."
"Rapidly implement jobs, positions, grades, and steps within setup of organizational structure."
"As we have been using this for the past nine years we have had the opportunity to explore the product. Really everything has worked well and all the modules are very good."
"This is our ERP and we are using it for our entire supply chain flow, i.e., from the start of the billing to the shipping process."
"Oracle E-Business Suite has contributed to cost reduction in specific areas for customers who transition from using multiple legacy systems in silos, helping reduce costs, decrease employee working time, and minimize duplicate jobs."
"I love SLA because it gives me flexibility to do things that I need without involving development, for example, adding descriptions that I need for my Latin American business with just a couple of clicks without any development involvement."
"Payroll and online benefits enrollment"
"It has improved the way we worked; everything is now on a very well-centered database."
"The client's organization became more productive as they view the data in real time."

Cons

"I believe they should improve their sales service. In terms of finance, they need to improve the interface."
"The interface is pretty old."
"The stability is really 50/50 right now. It could be issues with certain pages or data, or it could be a training issue on our end."
"The biggest frustration I have with Oracle is that they have taken an acquisition approach. Because of this, the modules don't talk to each other."
"The on-premises version of this solution can be difficult to expand, compared to its cloud version. The on-premises version is also more limited, versus the cloud version that has a lot of improvements. Maintaining this solution is also too costly."
"One issue with the product is because it build on a lot of older technologies, there is a substantial technical debt in the system."
"More flexibility in configuration related to the Payroll module, in order to easily implement the local legislation."
"Although all the modules are integrated with each other into E-Business Suite, sometimes when you apply one patch for Accounts Receivable, for example, it can damage Accounts Payable."
"On ServiceMax Dispatching Management, they have a limitation where you can only dispatch a work order for a maximum of 14 days."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"Whatever the products you use, you'll be paying a yearly maintenance price or a support price."
"Both the current projects and future projects should be defined well. Licensing should be done according to current and near future plans."
"The pricing of Oracle E-Business Suite is too high."
"Licensing and costing of Oracle EBS is very complex. We recommend to use a system integrator during the negotiation process since Oracle sales representatives sometime do not know the actual minimum requirements and may oversell the necessary licenses through ignorance."
"I have found the solution overall to be expensive. There are additional fees on top of the standard license."
"There is an annual licensing fee and you are able to add features depending on the scope of the environment."
"Oracle scales the pricing, but E-Business Suite is still very expensive for small to mid-sized businesses."
"This product is more expensive if you compare it to SAP."
