The use of data forms simplifies financial data management and input processes
The best feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is the possibility to use data forms to input data and allow users to have a template with the data form. For users, it is not necessary to go with a free form to take data or input data. My automotive customer transitioned from Essbase on-premise to Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud specifically for the data forms functionality. This is the main feature that Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud offers compared to the Essbase on-premise solution. Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud offers the possibility to use data forms for viewing and inputting data. This is the easiest way to perform these actions without using free forms.

It's a robust solution with no issues. In my view, it is necessary to introduce another way to create reports apart from MS Excel.
There are no tutorials or wizards inside the tool, and I think they would be very useful sometimes. Having said that, I suspect that it is one of the SAP's strategies, because they get a lot of money from SAP training and don't want people learning who to work with their products on their own. There is another thing as well which could be improved. In my view, it is necessary to introduce another way to create reports apart from MS Excel, and it must be a way that can be exploited through mobile devices as well.

Pros

"The best feature of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is the possibility to use data forms to input data and allow users to have a template with the data form."
"The most valuable feature is the data integration in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud."
"The customization level is excellent."
"The improvement for the organization is the same as it is with Hyperion Planning plus the license is a lot more affordable and it has no need for in-house equipment."
"Once you do the budget in Oracle ERP, you can upload it, but it's easier to create and manage budgets in the Oracle budgeting tool itself. For example, if you have a shortfall in the budget, it's easier to manage that and the forms, too, especially if you also have Oracle Forms Management. You can get the forms from somewhere and then transform those forms into budget heads."
"We're were amazed at the ease Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud was to implement and how good the design was."
"The workforce, the cube database, is the most valuable feature where you do planning for your headcounts."
"Beneficial analysis and easy to do management adjustments."
"Up to the implementation of the application, it used to take weeks to the consolidation team to carry out the entire, monthly, financial consolidation, now it takes them just one or two days to perform the entire process."

Cons

"It would be nice to have better performance."
"There is middleware that we need to purchase for our use case that should be provided in Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud. We should not have to purchase the additional solution and the integration should be seamless."
"Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud could improve by having better integration with some other modules that we would add to this solution."
"For HR, the workforce planning out of the box is complicated. For most users, it's not easy, and it requires a learning curve. It's not very user-friendly. It can be improved."
"Oracle made a mistake by forcing HFM users to transition to FCCS before the solution was mature enough."
"Tech support has gone down. Initially when it was on-prem, tech support was very sophisticated and knowledgeable."
"The tool's interface is outdated. However, OneStream is easier to navigate."
"The support at Oracle is just terrible."
"There are no tutorials or wizards inside the tool, and I think they would be very useful sometimes."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is free."
"The price of Oracle Planning and Budgeting Cloud is expensive. However, it solves a lot of issues at the company. Having a better price could make us think about using more cloud products for Oracle and increase usage."
"There is an annual subscription for this solution and it is priced high."
"It is expensive."
