Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

Detects incidents quickly, improves our SLA performance and solves issues faster
We mainly use it for incident logging. We'd like to add service request functionality, but we don't have the knowledge to configure the requests and the workflows properly. We'd like to integrate our workflows with the incident management, so we use it to manage our work better. We'd like to implement the service request feature. Right now, we just record everything as incidents. Some activities can take a long time, maybe one or two weeks. This makes it hard to maintain a good SLA, even if we work hard. So, response speed and workflow improvements.

Plenty of features, stable, and scalable
The solution has not been updated in a while and parts appear to be outdated, such as the pictures. It is a reactive product in terms of development and features. They do not follow the market trends or have many innovations. I have found Symantec Asset Management Suite does not integrate well with Microsoft solutions, which in the corporate world is a large disadvantage. They are currently lagging behind Microsoft. The cloud version of this solution is not very convenient or comparable to other solutions, they need to improve it.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The overall UI of the tool is so user-friendly that even a beginner can use it easily."
"With the rebate processing automation that we did, it has provided us a savings of around an hour or two a person on a daily basis, which is quite a lot of savings."
"Our first automation removed manual work from employees, so they are now able to more quickly product quality work."
"Automation Anywhere, specifically A2019, has helped us in automating a major chunk of such tasks, thus helped in saving a lot of time, effort, and revenue."
"Human errors have been rectified due to bot usage."
"The code automation platform is the most valuable feature."
"The most valuable feature is the task bots because we found that cognitive functionality can be improvised."
"Object cloning with an option to enter wildcard selection was very useful when working in a web application that generated dynamic HTML content."
"The solution has a great filtering feature."
"Samanage has not only taken over asset and inventory management, but it also has the ability to function across departments, making it easy for end users to submit help desk tickets for IT, HR, and Finance."
"The best part is the ability to keep records, especially incident records. It's easy to use the tool to store data and monitor it."
"I would recommend Samanage from the IT support perspective because it's a great ticketing system and the only downside is the site shutdowns and the messy nature of the UI and UX."
"Symantec Asset Management Suite has better features than some of its competitors, such as the Microsoft Configuration Manager."

Cons

"They do not include the basic functionality of column headers in Excel worksheets. This is missing, and we need it."
"I struggled with understanding the use of different variables during my initial time with Automation Anywhere."
"I think it is a little bit of an ongoing struggle, because we don't deal with the infrastructure. We have a separate infrastructure team that sorts all that out. So, sometimes there are communication issues just trying to get our internal IT team onboard to run through the installs and that sort of thing. But, definitely with the new cloud version coming onboard, we'll be looking toward going to that. Hopefully it'll resolve some of that friction that comes about through the install process and complexity."
"The older versions, like version 8 and 9, were not very stable."
"It would be helpful if we could start running a process from a particular step."
"IQ Bot has some limitations that should be improved in future releases."
"When we need to upgrade the bot version for various applications like SAP, the compatibility issues could be easier to resolve. The financial team is using version 5 or 6, but the automation engineer recommends only version 6 because it is more compatible. I think Automation Anywhere could handle these compatibility issues better."
"As far as the stability is concerned, some unknown errors do occur. While I am sure the Automation Anywhere is working to improve this, there is room for improvement."
"There are definitely areas for improvement, but so far, so good."
"The system shuts down about once a month which is frustrating."
"The setting up process is not quite easy. It's quite difficult."
"We've had some problems with the system shutting down about once a month. It sometimes takes five or 10 minutes to start working again but it can also take hours."
"The solution has not been updated in a while and parts appear to be outdated, such as the pictures. It is a reactive product in terms of development and features. They do not follow the market trends or have many innovations."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
"If we talk about the automation RPA. it definitely has worked very well for us. I'm talking about giving good savings, about more than 180 FTE savings, after implementing more than 200 plus bots. It has worked well. As an organization, it has supported us very well, and also for our customers."
"I have heard that Automation Anywhere is expensive."
"We would like them to change the license model of charging per bot."
"It's somewhat pricier than some of the other tools that we've used, and the breakout between the different applications is also somewhat costly. If they can make it a little more cost-effective or bundle packages a little bit more, that would be beneficial."
"I would rate the price of Automation Anywhere a six out of ten, with ten being the most expensive."
"Approximately, for a developer, it is around $750 for a license a year. For Bot Runners, it is about $550."
"Its usage is expensive for us because my user base is mostly in Manila and KL. The unit cost of labor is cheaper there than in the U.S. or Australia, which puts a bit more stress on how to get a positive ROI while continuing to use it."
"It is expensive."
"The price of the solution was reasonable a couple of years ago but now it is expensive."
