Automation has reduced manual reporting tasks and improved delivery speed
Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation has an opportunity to be improved in many ways, especially with AI. I see some improvements there and it can definitely be enhanced. Maybe even leveraging the cloud product rather than having Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation running on your local network would help. Because now you need to connect through a VPN. I understand because organizations don't want to share their data. However, using it as a subscription service can help to connect from anywhere. But then you just need to make sure that the data also complies with the POPI Act and all of those other acts for protecting the data.

Significantly reduces manual effort and improves team workflows through automated ticketing
We've used Agent Builder, IXP, and Maestro for orchestration. We have created context-grounded searches or chatbots using context grounding, and we also use context grounding within an Agentic flow where a bot or agent reads ServiceNow tickets to determine whether it has been assigned to the right work group. If it has not been assigned correctly due to human error, it automatically reassigns it to the right group. I would assess Agentic AI's ability to extract data points as effective. We created an agent for the purpose of extracting data, though not in a document. We created what we call an email conversation agent that engages with a customer, vendor, or someone in an email conversation with a set goal of extracting specific data points for an action to be performed subsequently. The one automation we have deployed in production involves the agent interacting with team members to collect data points and create a ServiceNow ticket. We appreciate almost all features of UiPath Platform, with one of the most successful ones being the use of Coms Mining. Most of the new features related to AI have all been good, and we use Agentic. We have already created a few agents and have started to use Maestro for a few flows, though we are not yet there to orchestrate an end-to-end workflow. We have good ROI from the automations we have developed with UiPath Platform, which far exceeds the investment in the platform. It has saved us tens of thousands of hours in manual effort, making the team members happy to pursue other things of value.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The automation features of Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation have assisted us to deliver quickly, especially if you have captured everything on ARIS, then you just need to run a report, and some of the elements are automated."
"The automation-creation process is quite easy and the accuracy is quite good. That last aspect is critically important... and we have been getting that so far."
"There are a lot of powerful box components with the possibilities of creating your own."
"The product helps achieve efficiency that will create ROI and the training and support are very good."
"Eight to nine times out of ten, if I have a question or I'm stuck, I can go to the forums and I can find experts or I can find YouTube videos and I can talk to other people."
"One of the reasons UiPath is so successful is the UiPath community. We have tremendous people in the community supporting each other in terms of development or community events."
"The steps, documentation, and information are pretty straightforward when it comes to the product, so there is no ambiguity."
"It has significantly improved the accuracy of our operations, particularly in terms of quality, and has also reduced the time required."
"I like UiPath's coding engine."

Cons

"Software AG ARIS Robotic Process Automation has an opportunity to be improved in many ways, especially with AI."
"UiPath needs to improve Orchestrator and its back office licenses."
"One of the things that we are lacking right now is not stability, but usability with debugging, e.g., when you can't see what went wrong. We have to look through 50,000 pages of logs or so."
"UiPath Studio could offer alternative coding methods. You could invoke the code with VB or C#, but I'm unfamiliar with either of those languages, and I don't have time to explore them."
"There's room for enhancement, particularly in the support department and in the area of reporting, to provide a more robust product for gathering insights."
"I would like to see more features included in the AI Fabric."
"UiPath needs work on the governance side. For example, they released Studio Web this year and have started work on its governance, but it initially lacked control from an administration standpoint. You could not lock down third-party libraries or other applications and integrations it had built in."
"We now have a functionality that is being released for web forms. It's more for attended. I would like to have these web forms exposed in Orchestrator to be able to trigger a bot externally. I know we have partners that provide similar functionality. I would like to have that same functionality where you could deploy a form, but instead of having it pop up on somebody's desktop, they could go through a URL through Orchestrator and trigger the bots via a web interface. This is instead of having to be tied down to an attended bot."
"I would say a better layout or interface between the Studio and Orchestrator tools would be nice."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"The pricing and licensing costs seem okay to me, although it is a little bit on the high side."
"The cost is nothing, it's peanuts, when you see the capabilities. When you're talking about one license supporting what was previously done by 14 people, what is $1,500, or whatever the licensing cost is for unattended bots?"
"UiPath is more affordable than Automation Anywhere and Blue Prism, which is the most expensive."
"UiPath pricing is high and sometimes it's quite complicated as well, because there are loads of components and loads of product portfolios."
"It would be nice if you could just buy the product instead of having the annual rate license renewals. It's expensive, but I guess we'll have to see what the ROI truly is."
"The cost is on the higher side."
"The price is high in comparison to Power Platform that Microsoft provides as part of their enterprise license."
"On a scale where one represents the most expensive and 10 is cheapest, I would rate UiPath at about two."
