Gained full visibility and streamlined threat detection through behavior-based insights and AI integration
Initially, we got to have a lot of false positives when we onboarded, but nowadays it's quite smooth. We have fine-tuned our security policies and allowed different levels of policies to get rid of those false positives. Currently, we are getting a fairly good amount of incidents that are not false positives or benign, but actionable items. The process is streamlined. In the initial days, the operations used to get involved in a lot of benign and other activities, but now the process is streamlined. We are leveraging the auto-detection and remediation plans. The operations teams are now more involved in other business roles as well, not just looking into the logs and fetching out what's happening there. They have fixed a lot of things. Initially, they didn't have IAC code drift detection, cloud posture management, or security posture management, but they have those now. They purchased different vendors and did a merger with that. They have now Prisma Cloud that gets integrated and now they are working with Cortex Cloud. Everything that was negative has now been addressed, and the product altogether looks to be in a very better and mature shape now. Currently, it's more or less detecting the workloads with AI-based best practices. Since most organizations are consuming AI agents and other things, we are looking forward to seeing what other feature enhancements Palo Alto can support in that.

Advanced threat prevention has strengthened incident response and customized security workflows
The biggest advantage of Trellix Endpoint Security Platform is the ATP solution, which provides advanced threat prevention. Machine learning algorithms are available in the product as part of the threat anti-malware, including predictive machine learning and behavioral analysis, which are integral to the anti-malware module of EPP. In terms of my experience with the machine learning algorithms for analysis and threat detection, we are analyzing logs provided by Trellix, but we are not able to conduct specific machine learning analysis on those logs. The automated response mechanisms in the products help with incident management because we have to create playbooks in Trellix console for automation, which we need to enable. The customizable dashboard of Trellix Endpoint Security Platform definitely contributes to the decision-making process, as we customize the dashboard according to customer requirements. When it comes to integration aspects, we are able to integrate Trellix Endpoint Security Platform with SIEM or SOAR solutions using the ePO console, which enhances threat detection capabilities. Reporting and analytics aspects have an impact on security posture assessment, as we are able to fetch reports in the ePO console customized according to customer requirements for downloading and sending via email.

Security suite has protected individual devices from threats, while installation and network features require improvements
BIG-IP is actually the LTM, Link Load Balancer, which comes with ASM, meaning Application Security Module. It consists of multiple modules, such as ASM, SWG, and a domain DNS manager. ZoneAlarm allows defining trusted and public networks, which helps maintain security in public Wi-Fi environments. It offers comprehensive protection, securing PCs against threats. Users do not experience any system slowdowns while scanning. Harmony Browser protects all your browsing activity and is bundled with Harmony Endpoint and Harmony Connect. It provides a small but effective security layer and sometimes comes packaged with the larger Harmony suite.

"The one feature of Palo Alto Networks Traps that our organization finds most valuable is the App ID service."
"The solution allows control over the user and his machine through Cortex XDR security policies."
"Automation and playbooks have helped me significantly, as Cortex Xnor's playbooks predefine the workflow of the automation, such as response processes, alert triggering, and enriching the context, efficiently detecting and blocking malicious attacks with firewalls while eliminating workload and speeding responses for next-generation operations."
"Its ability to react to cyber data attacks is awesome."
"I can highlight that we have not faced any security incidents with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks, and even though our environment is quite dynamic, we have not faced any security incident with Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks until now."
"The user behavioral analysis feature is great."
"The exploit guard and malware protection features are very useful, and the logon tracker feature is also very useful."
"The solution is stable and reliable."
"The most valuable feature is the centralized console where everything can be controlled by the administration."
"The product's initial setup phase was straightforward."
"There are many other endpoint security solutions that are available today, but McAfee Suite has several distinct advantages when you make a procurement decision."
"McAfee Complete Endpoint Protection has helped us to enforce that mandate, protecting both staff and patient information data."
"The endpoint protection and disk encryption features are the most valuable."
"ZoneAlarm is one of the best rated security products from Checkpoint, which comprises of inbuilt antivirus, anti spyware, anti phishing, and advanced threat protection features."

Cons

"The downside to the solution is that there are a large number of false positives."
"Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks could improve by adding a sandbox feature to better compete with their competitors which have it."
"There are some limitations on the Traps agents."
"It's very time-consuming to log support issues and the people that answer the tickets aren't very knowledgeable."
"Cortex XDR should have a lightweight agent, and the agent size should not be heavy."
"The dashboard could use some significant improvement, just making it more useful with more information. It has a limited amount of information right now. It is customizable, but I'd love to see a better out-of-box dashboard."
"The downsides of Cortex XDR by Palo Alto Networks are that in many incidents, when I enter the causality chain, there are numerous logs."
"Previously, the endpoint would leave the environment, not being on our VPN, essentially unable to interact with the server to upload files. It was unable to retrieve new file verdicts. It was using a thing called "local analysis" to determine if something was a malicious file or not. There was no dynamic analysis."
"The product is consolidating its portfolio into one product. It is difficult at the moment."
"It ended up not being what we hoped for in an endpoint solution."
"The integration and display of the dashboards have to be done better."
"The products are getting obsolete too early; they're coming up with new products too fast, and because we have a subscription, we have to upgrade to the next level, which creates some maintenance issues for us."
"So far, McAfee MVISION Endpoint ticks off all of our boxes, but its pricing could always be better."
"Technical support is an area that can be improved because sometimes, the response time is a bit slow and the explanation is short."
"I would like the product deployment to be made simpler."
"I give it a seven because in today's scenario, the portal is complicated to handle."
"Some of our users say that the interface is a little bit outdated for 2020, and want it to be more modern and cozy."
"Updating ZoneAlarm is a problem at times."
"I have used it in the past for personal desktops and for systems at small startups, but I would not recommend it as an enterprise level firewall security solution."
"They need to update and improve the features available for Mac."
"ZoneAlarm should be a light application that does not take too much memory in mobile phones."
"Perhaps the primary area for potential enhancement is to make it faster, ensuring a more seamless experience while maintaining robust security features."
"Currently, the client is only available for the Windows Operating System but it would be good if it were released for Mac OS as well."
"The solution's efficiency in threat containment and overall protection needs improvement."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"It has a higher cost than other solutions, like CrowdStrike or Microsoft’s EDR tools, but it reduces the cost of our operations because it’s a new generation antivirus tool."
"It has a yearly renewal."
"This is an expensive solution."
"Cortex XDR’s pricing is very reasonable."
"The solution has one subscription for endpoint protection and one subscription for detection and response. The two licenses combined give you the BRO version."
"When we first bought it, it was a bit expensive, but it was worth it. The licensing was straightforward."
"I did PoCs on products called Cylance and CrowdStrike. Although, I consider these products and they were also good, when it come to cost and budgetary factors, Traps has been proven to be better than the other two products. It is quite cost-effective and delivers all the entire solution which we require."
"I am using the Community edition."
"Trellix may cost around $46 to $47 for a single license without an EDR."
"It was an annual fee. There was just one overall fee."
