Simple and flexible backup solution
I mainly use Cloud Connect as a cloud backup repository Cloud Connect's best features are its simplicity, flexibility, and constantly-expanding options. I've been using Cloud Connect for about four years. We encountered some issues with stability at the beginning, but these were fixed after…

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The solution is extremely stable; we haven't come across any bugs, crashes, or glitches."
"The administration and management integrate with multiple solutions, not just with one or two environments, even if they're not VMware products, and we've found this to be a valuable feature."
"One of the most valuable features of Veeam Cloud Connect is it does not require the use of an extremely fast internet connection for it to work. The backup process is automated which is great."
"The interesting part of the solution is that the customer does not have to invest in a second site to store their offsite backups."
"In my opinion, the console or dashboard is the most valuable feature of this solution."
"The most valuable feature is the snapshot capability."
"Veeam Cloud Connect is used extensively, and there's a plan to increase its usage in the future."
"Cloud Connect's best features are its simplicity, flexibility, and constantly-expanding options."
"The tool is easy to use and straightforward regarding restoration and creating backups. It's user-friendly, providing results and sending alerts when something goes wrong."
"Deploying Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 was very easy. I did the installation by myself, without any help. I spent one day on the installation of the product, and all weeks are working normally."
"The pricing is reasonable."
"It helps to ensure that you can always have your data restored."
"The program has been working really well for us."
"This is definitely a product that I can recommend."
"The most valuable feature is that we don't need different agents to back up our files from different accounts."
"I want an additional copy of my data in the Office cloud and it works."

Cons

"The solution needs to be more scalable. There should be no reason to set up Veeam Cloud Connect and have 10 servers in order to have a cloud backup. The initial setup could be easier."
"Some of the features I'd like added to the solution would be coming up in version 12, so the only area for improvement I saw in Veeam Cloud Connect was the need to have more support for object storage."
"There are some issues with the cloud providers for Veeam Cloud Connect that do not support all the features."
"The dashboard could be more intuitive."
"I would like to see more advanced training courses made available to cover complicated use cases."
"I also think the cost factor is a major issue for Veeam because it's a very expensive soluton especially when the client wants support for VMware."
"The flexibility results in more administrative GUI. The GUI needs improvement."
"We need the solution to offer IT storage."
"There is still a need for improvement when it comes to individual database backups, particularly for Oracle and other newer databases."
"The solution announced many features two years ago, and they still have not happened, so I would hope that the next release has these ready to go."
"The documentation for the installation is good. However, if you are new to the environment the installation could be difficult. The first time we did it it took approximately four days."
"The solution should have backup integration features, not just concerning mail but also when it comes to such solutions as SharePoint."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"I found that Veeam Backup for Office 365 is not scalable."
"While I don't have a use case in mind, it would be great if they could integrate more automation capabilities into the solution."
"As with all things, the solution can be improved by reducing the cost."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The pricing of Veeam Cloud Connect is good."
"It's not the cheapest solution on the market but it's reliable, so we find it cost-effective."
"The licensing fee is on a monthly basis."
"The licensing is MSP-based. It is connected to the portal, and you can deploy it to your end users as well."
"The price of the solution is reasonable because of our good standing with the vendor."
"The price of the solution could be cheaper. There are monthly or yearly subscription options available. The annual subscription tends to be cheaper."
"We are looking into how we can extend the license of this product."
"I think that this is one of the most cost-effective solutions."
"From our perspective in South Africa, our biggest challenge is the exchange rate from the South African currency to the US dollar. This makes it a bit pricey for us. However, compared to other backup solutions available, I would rate the pricing at a nine out of ten. For the servers, features, and functionality you get, it's worth the money. Of course, we'd always prefer things to be cheaper, but we also understand that you have to pay for proper functionality. So overall, it's not badly priced at all."
"The pricing is middle-of-the-road compared with competing products."
"The licensing price is quite high. It's expensive."
"The pricing model makes this solution more expensive than it needs to be."
"Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 is expensive, and I rate it an eight out of ten."
"I think it's a fair price. It's around $36 per user, so I think it's a fair price for our customers."
"We are talking about a third party solution, so there is a licensing fee."
"Its cost is pretty high. I would rate it a three out of five in terms of pricing."
