Good backup retention but it is not a reliable platform and it doesn't giving any sort of alerts that things are not working
StorageCraft wasn't getting full backup coverage. It was backing up around 1 to 2% of the points. It was not a reliable platform and it wasn't giving any sort of alerts that things were not working. The majority of stuff wasn't backed up, so we really weren't happy with them. That's when we went on the look for a new solution.

Great backup that's user-friendly and very reliable
The initial setup is very straightforward. It is easy. There are no great difficulties when setting up the solution. Even the configuration is simple. The deployment itself takes only a couple of days. It only takes one person to install it. You do not need a big team. We had an engineer manage it. The product does not require any maintenance.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The backup retention was pretty good. Being able to archive users who had been backed up, is a good functionality. Even if they've been deactivated it'll keep the backups and keep them protected."
"The most valuable feature of Veeam Cloud Connect is the server backups, such as the Microsoft Windows server. Additionally, the updates provide useful enterprise functionality."
"The most valuable quality of Veeam Cloud Connect is its reliability."
"I've found flexibility to the most valuable feature. I also like that it's scalable and that the stability is okay."
"The administration and management integrate with multiple solutions, not just with one or two environments, even if they're not VMware products."
"The most valuable features are the fast replication and recovery of data."
"The stability and restore options on the solution are very good."
"I like the fact that it gives you the possibility to set the data out of the customer on-premises site and to have an off-site copy in your Cloud Data Center."
"It's a stable solution."

Cons

"StorageCraft wasn't getting full backup coverage. It was backing up around one to 2% of the points. It was not a reliable platform and it wasn't giving any sort of alerts that things were not working."
"Pricing could be improved and I also think archiving could be improved."
"We are now able to work on more security-related tasks with Acronis, as they offer features such as antivirus, DLP, and various cybersecurity options. This is a significant improvement compared to our previous solution with Veeam Cloud Connect, where we were lacking such features. It also allows us to offer a wider range of security options to our customers."
"The flexibility results in more administrative GUI. The GUI needs improvement."
"The security of encrypted data could be better."
"The solution should allow for interfacing with other public cloud vendors. They could work to build something around that concept."
"The solution needs to be more scalable. There should be no reason to set up Veeam Cloud Connect and have 10 servers in order to have a cloud backup. The initial setup could be easier."
"Some of the features I'd like added to the solution would be coming up in version 12, so the only area for improvement I saw in Veeam Cloud Connect was the need to have more support for object storage."
"There are some issues with the cloud providers for Veeam Cloud Connect that do not support all the features."

Pricing and Cost Advice

Information not available
"It's not the cheapest solution on the market but it's reliable, so we find it cost-effective."
"The price of the solution is reasonable because of our good standing with the vendor."
"The licensing is MSP-based. It is connected to the portal, and you can deploy it to your end users as well."
"I think that this is one of the most cost-effective solutions."
"The licensing fee is on a monthly basis."
"The pricing of Veeam Cloud Connect is good."
"We are looking into how we can extend the license of this product."
"The price of the solution could be cheaper. There are monthly or yearly subscription options available. The annual subscription tends to be cheaper."
