Enables running of AI models locally with GPU support and reduce cloud costs
Pros and Cons
  • "The feature I appreciate the most about the new system is that there is a GPU for running AI models, and I thought I might play with it."
  • "Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops heats significantly; when I operate it normally, it gets extremely hot."

What is our primary use case?

I use the G16 7030 model.

What is most valuable?

The feature I appreciate the most about the new system is that there is a GPU for running AI models, and I thought I might play with it. I might play games. I suppose I'm too old to play games, so I'm just going to use the GPU.

What needs improvement?

Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops heats significantly; when I operate it normally, it gets extremely hot. I found out last week that I can download Alienware software for thermal control and switch it to another setting. It was either battery or balanced; now it's balanced.

Other than the heating, another negative aspect about Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is that the transformer is huge, apparently because it's a gaming laptop, and I need it. I saw a YouTube video of a guy explaining how to reduce the heat; he was very excited about this 1,000-watt transformer.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for four months.

How are customer service and support?

I used customer service before buying. It's very complicated to buy from the site, especially with the refurbished ones as there are very few. You wait one day, and it's gone. They have inconsistent policies about sending to hotels; some representatives say they can't, while others say they can.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I chose Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops since I had Dell before for nine years and it never broke; I didn't need to fix it.

I needed to decide between Mac and Dell, ultimately choosing Dell, hopefully correctly. I'm still not sure if I made the right choice between a Mac and Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops. Macs are more compact and probably have more battery life, and every YouTuber in the field, everyone I know, has a Mac, so I'm not sure.

What was our ROI?

I see a little return on investment as I'm running a model that I had to pay for if I ran it in the cloud, about $100 for now since I can run a small model, not a big one.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I bought a refurbished one from the Dell website in the States, and it was a good price at about $1,000. Compared to here, it's a good price, and I didn't see anything wrong with the refurbished unit. There are levels of refurbished, so this was the higher level, the highest level even, and it seems new.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend that users install the thermal control software and definitely set it to balance. I'm not sure what settings it was by default, however, when you switch to performance, it tells you that once you do it, the laptop won't be in warranty or something. That's part of the normal settings, so that's unusual.

I rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops eight out of ten.

Have built a long-term trusted setup with reliable performance across diverse business needs
Pros and Cons
  • "I would assess the stability and reliability of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops as excellent, as I have not personally experienced any crashes or performance issues and, in general, if there is an issue, we have a warranty with the laptops allowing us to get onto Dell support and have it fixed, often within a day thanks to our next business day warranty."

What is our primary use case?

The main use cases for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are general everyday use, as we have different departments in our business, and it varies across the board, with some users preferring nice, light laptops while others prefer heavier ones with more processing power depending on their role. We have around three or four standard laptops that we buy from Dell and two different types of desktops, with one being the micro form, the little mini one, and the other a normal size.

    What is most valuable?

The most likable features of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops depend on the model. For our sales team and executives, it's important to have a nice, light, handy laptop that can be carried easily, with some having touchscreen ability and some being two-in-ones, making them really handy for traveling. For the tougher, bigger ones such as the Precisions, it's about being able to perform certain tasks with ease along with excellent support and warranty options.

We are currently using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, primarily Latitude models, and for laptops, we have some Precision models for our development team that work with SCADA, 3D AutoCAD, and 3D drawings, so we have more powerful devices for those purposes.

    What needs improvement?

In terms of improvements for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, we generally sit down every year with Dell to agree on the models we're going to purchase for the next 12 months, and there are generally no struggles. They meet the use cases of our users, but the biggest issue is that some users prefer to hold on to the same laptop for years because everything is on it.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for as long as I've been in the company, which is 24 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would assess the stability and reliability of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops as excellent. I have not personally experienced any crashes or performance issues, and in general, if there is an issue, we have a warranty with the laptops, allowing us to get onto Dell support. If a part is needed or if there's an issue, it will generally be fixed by support, often within a day thanks to our next business day warranty.

How are customer service and support?

I would evaluate Dell support specifically for desktops and laptops as excellent, very good.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to adopting Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, we haven't typically bought other solutions. While sometimes someone might go out to buy a cheaper brand laptop, in general, we procure centrally and buy Dell, so our relationship has always been with Dell from the time I came into the business, making us a long-standing customer.

    What was our ROI?

We don't get any complaints from any of our users regarding the return on investment in Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, as we buy the right CPU, the right memory, and we have the right storage.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

When it comes to pricing, setup costs, and licensing of these devices, we generally compare what's out there in the market, and in most cases, Dell is generally priced competitively with other vendors.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We look at what other laptops and desktops, particularly competitors such as Lenovo, are being purchased by our sister companies, reviewing what they receive and their pricing. The competitor we consider is Lenovo. We chose to stick with Dell instead of Lenovo because we're happy with what we get from Dell.

What other advice do I have?

Based on my experience, I rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops ten out of ten.

Has provided long-term reliability and visual appeal while supporting office workflows efficiently
    Pros and Cons
    • "The features of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops I appreciate most are the functionality, lightweight design, and visual appeal."
    • "Sometimes we see broken screens, so hardening the cover or screen frame could help improve the product."

It's very easy to use, reliable, and continues working for many years, sometimes beyond the guarantee period. Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops benefit companies by providing cost-effective solutions while delivering the necessary power for users.

Sometimes we see broken screens, so hardening the cover or screen frame could help improve the product.

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for 20 years, from the very beginning.

How are customer service and support?

We don't have any problems with the customer service and technical support of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops. We work with ITglobal, which is a tier one provider, and they send technicians who fix any issues. The customer service and technical support deserve more than a perfect score.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

    What was our ROI?

The functionality, size, and price are the biggest return on investment when purchasing Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is competitive with other solutions, with no issues regarding pricing, setup cost, or licensing.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Some users prefer Lenovo computers, which are more expensive but have similar longevity. We decided to purchase only HP and Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, and I personally prefer Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops because they are much more convenient. We became accustomed to these computers when comparing the differences between HP, Lenovo, and Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, focusing on convenience and other factors.

What other advice do I have?

Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are excellent overall. We haven't tested other solutions extensively, but we purchase and admire their products. Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops provide a perfect solution with reasonable pricing.

On a scale of 1-10, I rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops a 10.

      What is most valuable?

Dell Business Laptops offer excellent storage and memory, along with faster speed. The storage, memory, and speed have helped my team significantly, as faster response time is what every engineer expects, and it has been quite helpful that we get a faster response. Faster devices have boost productivity for experienced professionals working on intensive development tasks
      Pros and Cons
      • "The most beneficial features of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for us are speed and compatibility, and we have benefited from these devices by maximizing productivity, as we only employ people with at least seven or eight years of experience."
      • "Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops could be improved as the Windows drivers do not always work smoothly with Dell systems, requiring Dell driver updates to prevent slowdowns."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use cases for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are for team members who perform internet-based work, and we have a large number of Windows systems. Some team members also use them for coding with Docker and database work, which is why we need professional-grade devices.

      What is most valuable?

The most beneficial features of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for us are speed and compatibility. We have benefited from these devices by maximizing productivity, as we only employ people with at least seven or eight years of experience. They are all highly skilled professionals, making the investment in faster laptops essential. This is particularly important because the coding work is quite intensive.

      What needs improvement?

Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops could be improved as the Windows drivers do not always work smoothly with Dell systems, requiring Dell driver updates to prevent slowdowns. This is a common issue that needs addressing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for ten years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I assess the stability and reliability of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops as satisfactory, except for the driver issues.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

These devices scale effectively with our organization's growing needs since we are fairly small. When we add another team member, we simply purchase another device.

How are customer service and support?

I have not been in contact with their support as we have not experienced any problems.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Negative

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not consider other solutions before selecting Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops.

      How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing was straightforward. Because we are quite small, they do not have a significant impact.

      What was our ROI?

As a startup, I have not measured the return on investment for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops as it would not be worthwhile at this stage.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to someone who is evaluating Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is to focus on the efficiency of the employee rather than the cost of the laptop. It makes no sense to economize on a laptop when spending five, six, or ten times that amount on an employee.

I would rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops an eight out of ten. They work fast, however, occasionally seem slower than expected, and the driver issues can be problematic.

Delivers strong performance and creates long-term cost efficiency across development
      Pros and Cons
      • "The performance is good, and they deliver strong capabilities at an affordable price."
      • "While they may not offer the absolute best performance, in terms of balance between cost, performance, and support, Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are number one."
      • "They can be improved by having fewer problems and requiring less support, as it would save money for external support."

What is our primary use case?

My main use cases for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are development, IT, and engineering.

How has it helped my organization?

Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops benefit my company overall by creating synergy between support, production, and cost, which provides a good balance.

      What is most valuable?

The features of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops that I value most are related to performance. The performance is good, and they deliver strong capabilities at an affordable price.

      What needs improvement?

They can be improved by having fewer problems and requiring less support, as it would save money for external support. There are very few cases of issues, and they work normally without major problems.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for 20 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Regarding the stability and reliability of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, I have experienced downtime and performance issues, however, these come from Microsoft, not from Dell. Different types of Windows updates have stuck my system and caused virus checks, so the issues originate from software, not from hardware.

How are customer service and support?

My experience with the customer service and technical support of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is that they are excellent. It can be somewhat difficult to open a case if I call Dell directly, however, I use one of the suppliers, Hyper-Global, and they provide the best service I could imagine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used other computers besides Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, specifically Toshiba. There is a significant difference between the two. Toshiba has zero trouble but offers less performance and less development as it uses older technology. While Toshiba requires zero support cases and has zero trouble, their technology is at a lower level.

      What was our ROI?

The biggest return on investment when using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is that I replace them every four or five years, which saves money and provides good performance for my company.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding the pricing, setup costs, and licensing of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, I don't deal with licensing. We have an enterprise agreement that covers all license issues.

The hardware cost is balanced. While they may not offer the absolute best performance, in terms of balance between cost, performance, and support, Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are number one.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I am considering switching from Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops to another computer. I already use daily switching, and while there are minor user interface issues, the switching decision comes from corporate management and does not depend solely on my decision.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to other companies considering Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is to research and try them.

There is no best laptop in the world; each company has its advantages and disadvantages. Some companies require the best performance, while others look for the best price or support.

I found that Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops provide the best summary and overview of all these features. While they're not the best laptops, they offer the best value for investment.

I rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops eight out of ten.

Build quality has supported daily remote work with consistent performance where power is available
      Pros and Cons
      • "For my use case, the ROI when using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for my company is very high overall."
      • "My only complaint for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the battery life."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is mainly remote work.

      What is most valuable?

The feature I appreciate the most about Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the sturdy build quality. The screen brightness is good. The main functionalities I need for remote work are present and effective. Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops help companies by providing better value for price compared to other companies, though my experience with other laptops is limited.

      What needs improvement?

My only complaint for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the battery life. The battery life without being plugged into a power source is very short, especially when using Wi-Fi, as it gets drained in 45 minutes at most. This is the most important aspect that I would change.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for about one year, as the laptop I have currently is from my current job.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not experienced any crashes with Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops. However, sometimes when I go to shut down my PC, it doesn't shut down completely. When I press the shutdown icon and close the laptop, occasionally I open it back up to find that it hasn't shut down entirely, which drains the battery. This occurs once or twice over a period of a month, possibly due to closing it too quickly.

      What was our ROI?

For my use case, the ROI when using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for my company is very high overall. Though I haven't paid for it personally, it's a reliable laptop that I use almost daily, and the ROI is high regardless of the cost.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

As I have not paid anything personally, I cannot comment on the pricing or the setup cost.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

My company might have considered other laptops before providing me with this one, but I am unaware of whether there was any specific consideration for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops.

What other advice do I have?

I advise companies that are considering purchasing Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops to ensure they understand their use cases and whether they need the laptop to work without any power source other than its battery.

I would rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops overall as an eight. My experience shows that whenever I have a power source available, it performs excellently, and I primarily work in environments where power sources are accessible.

Facial and fingerprint login has improved daily workflow but frequent Outlook crashes still slow down productivity
      Pros and Cons
      • "Dell Enterprise Laptops is a reliable company with very good laptops."
      • "The laptop doesn't work well enough for my needs because Outlook still crashes one to two times a day due to the one hundred and forty calendars I have open, and even more than that."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for my laptop is Outlook, Office, and web browsing.

      What is most valuable?

I appreciate the feature of logging in with my face or fingerprint, which is very convenient. You should keep this for the next generation. Additionally, logging in with a code instead of typing my number is helpful, though I think that's more of a Windows feature than a Dell feature.

My main area of expertise is as a management assistant, where I make appointments for my managers. When we hire new people, I conduct background checks and ensure they receive an account. When employees leave the company, I close their accounts.

      What needs improvement?

The laptop doesn't work well enough for my needs because Outlook still crashes one to two times a day due to the one hundred and forty calendars I have open, and even more than that.

I considered changing to a different solution, which is why at the end of this year I was going to get a new laptop. However, I requested one sooner because my old laptop was crashing even more frequently. That's why I needed more memory and a faster computer. We had to order a brand new one, so I received a slightly older model than the newest model available, so the extra memory was beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for two and a half years.

How are customer service and support?

I don't have any direct experience with customer service, but I understand it's a good one.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

What other advice do I have?

I chose Dell Enterprise Laptops because the company does. The pricing is not very cheap, but I don't have detailed knowledge about it. The migration from one competitor to another was seamless. Since we also work with OneDrive, all the information was transferred to another laptop, and I only had to fill in some passwords. Dell Enterprise Laptops is a reliable company with very good laptops. I think other companies also use Dell Enterprise Laptops instead of different brands, so they're one of the biggest in the world. I rate the overall solution a 7 out of 10.

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for eight or nine years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

      Positive

I switched before to HP, but the performance was not good.

      What was our ROI?

For me, the biggest return on investment when having Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is that I don't worry about the computer's performance or lag.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Regarding pricing, the setup cost, and the licensing, I think it's high pricing, but the performance is worth it.

What other advice do I have?

I am happy with Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops now. My advice for other companies that are thinking of giving Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops to their workers is if you can, do it.

Has supported reliable field work and seamless remote server access over the years
      Pros and Cons
      • "Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is very stable, with no outlet issues regarding stability and reliability."

What is our primary use case?

My main use cases are that I'm doing field work and modest stuff. I only connect to remote servers and do not use it for anything else.

        What is most valuable?

What I appreciate most about Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the sizing, weight, and gait board, which is very good. There is a CAD because the performance of the laptop is very good.

        What needs improvement?

I don't know what could be improved; Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops are very good.
