Reliable laptops have supported daily business work and simplified routine maintenance
Pros and Cons
  • "Dell Business Laptops have a good processor and their hard drives last well, they have good memory and function very well for all the companies I've worked with when using Dell."
  • "Dell can do better with their charger because the charger is a little bit big."

What is our primary use case?

I use Dell Business Laptops for my end users, and I also have them set up for consumers to use for their daily tasks.

I repair them when they are faulty, and I put images on them as needed.

What is most valuable?

Dell Business Laptops have a good processor and their hard drives last well. They have good memory and function very well for all the companies I've worked with when using Dell.

The overall stability of Dell Business Laptops is good.

They are strong and stable. When you are working on a Dell laptop, you can see how functional it is, and overall it is good.

What needs improvement?

Dell can do better with their charger because the charger is a little bit big. If they can reduce the size of the AC charger, that would improve the experience.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Business Laptops for about thirteen to fourteen years.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted Dell's technical support regarding these laptops when the screen got broken. That was something that the user did; the laptop fell out of his hand and the screen got broken.

I called Dell and shipped it to them for them to replace it because the laptop was still under warranty.

The speed of the support from Dell was very quick. I sent it out, and the following week I got the laptop back. I would rate them a 10.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used HP, Lenovo, and Acer as well. I prefer Dell Business Laptops because they are durable.

Their memory and processor are very good, unlike other brands where we sometimes face challenges with their processor speed and memory.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup of these laptops is pretty easy. The only thing is that when you are setting up for a company, the company has its own image and software that needs to be done or downloaded onto them.

Apart from the company's own policy, Dell setup is pretty easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for Dell Business Laptops is reasonable.

What other advice do I have?

Dell Business Laptops do require maintenance on the user's end or on my end. They do require Windows updates and maintenance when they are faulty.

In the organization I work with, we have a routine that every three months all the users come to the office with their laptops for us to examine them to see if they need maintenance. Most of them just come and they just go back because Dell is a durable product.

Dell Business Laptops allow you to install anything you want from the start.

I would rate this product a 10 overall.

What other advice do I have?

Regarding Dell Business Laptops' AI capabilities, I think running on the edge should be secure enough. Regarding Dell Business Laptops' AI capabilities, I believe its accuracy and reliability of output depend more on the model itself, not about the products.

Dell Business Laptops are usually not deployed in my organization; we just use them for testing. I think Dell Business Laptops are good; that would be my advice to others looking into using them.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Build quality has supported daily remote work with consistent performance where power is available
Pros and Cons
  • "For my use case, the ROI when using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for my company is very high overall."
  • "My only complaint for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the battery life."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is mainly remote work.

What is most valuable?

The feature I appreciate the most about Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the sturdy build quality. The screen brightness is good. The main functionalities I need for remote work are present and effective. Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops help companies by providing better value for price compared to other companies, though my experience with other laptops is limited.

What needs improvement?

My only complaint for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the battery life. The battery life without being plugged into a power source is very short, especially when using Wi-Fi, as it gets drained in 45 minutes at most. This is the most important aspect that I would change.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for about one year, as the laptop I have currently is from my current job.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not experienced any crashes with Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops. However, sometimes when I go to shut down my PC, it doesn't shut down completely. When I press the shutdown icon and close the laptop, occasionally I open it back up to find that it hasn't shut down entirely, which drains the battery. This occurs once or twice over a period of a month, possibly due to closing it too quickly.

What was our ROI?

For my use case, the ROI when using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for my company is very high overall. Though I haven't paid for it personally, it's a reliable laptop that I use almost daily, and the ROI is high regardless of the cost.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

As I have not paid anything personally, I cannot comment on the pricing or the setup cost.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

My company might have considered other laptops before providing me with this one, but I am unaware of whether there was any specific consideration for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops.

What other advice do I have?

I advise companies that are considering purchasing Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops to ensure they understand their use cases and whether they need the laptop to work without any power source other than its battery.

I would rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops overall as an eight. My experience shows that whenever I have a power source available, it performs excellently, and I primarily work in environments where power sources are accessible.

Facial and fingerprint login has improved daily workflow but frequent Outlook crashes still slow down productivity
      Pros and Cons
      • "Dell Enterprise Laptops is a reliable company with very good laptops."
      • "The laptop doesn't work well enough for my needs because Outlook still crashes one to two times a day due to the one hundred and forty calendars I have open, and even more than that."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for my laptop is Outlook, Office, and web browsing.

      What is most valuable?

I appreciate the feature of logging in with my face or fingerprint, which is very convenient. You should keep this for the next generation. Additionally, logging in with a code instead of typing my number is helpful, though I think that's more of a Windows feature than a Dell feature.

My main area of expertise is as a management assistant, where I make appointments for my managers. When we hire new people, I conduct background checks and ensure they receive an account. When employees leave the company, I close their accounts.

      What needs improvement?

The laptop doesn't work well enough for my needs because Outlook still crashes one to two times a day due to the one hundred and forty calendars I have open, and even more than that.

I considered changing to a different solution, which is why at the end of this year I was going to get a new laptop. However, I requested one sooner because my old laptop was crashing even more frequently. That's why I needed more memory and a faster computer. We had to order a brand new one, so I received a slightly older model than the newest model available, so the extra memory was beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for two and a half years.

How are customer service and support?

I don't have any direct experience with customer service, but I understand it's a good one.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

What other advice do I have?

I chose Dell Enterprise Laptops because the company does. The pricing is not very cheap, but I don't have detailed knowledge about it. The migration from one competitor to another was seamless. Since we also work with OneDrive, all the information was transferred to another laptop, and I only had to fill in some passwords. Dell Enterprise Laptops is a reliable company with very good laptops. I think other companies also use Dell Enterprise Laptops instead of different brands, so they're one of the biggest in the world. I rate the overall solution a 7 out of 10.

Has supported efficient coding and schematic design with fast performance and reliable hardware
      Pros and Cons
      • "There are no downsides to using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops; they are durable, function well, and any issues are promptly resolved."

What is our primary use case?

The main use is coding, office work, and running hardware, not simulations, but Cadence applications such as OrCAD or Capture to see schematics.

        What is most valuable?

The feature I appreciate most about Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is that they turn on quickly compared to others I have used. They are durable, work efficiently, and if any problems arise, they are fixed promptly. They are not manufactured in China, so privacy is maintained.

        What needs improvement?

Battery life is one aspect that can be improved in Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops. Battery life is the most important feature for me.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops continuously. I have maintained the same models; it was my laptop during studies, and then I received one at my job.

How are customer service and support?

I utilized customer support to replace my battery. The process was quick; I received a response by phone, and they directed me to the lab where they replaced it on the same day, within one to two hours. The service was efficient, and this was my only customer service experience, which I would rate as excellent.

How would you rate customer service and support?

        Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

While I did not personally pay for the laptop at my company, cost is a consideration. Everyone seeks the most economical option, but durability and sufficient quality are essential factors.

What other advice do I have?

I write code for our company's PCB boards as part of my job duties.

There are no downsides to using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops; they are durable, function well, and any issues are promptly resolved. My overall experience with Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops has been positive. I would rate it a 10 out of 10.

Stable with great technical support and an easy initial setup
        Pros and Cons
        • "The support is really prompt and they deliver their service on time. We have no issues with the product and the support received from Dell."
        • "Technical support is pretty good, and one of the main reasons we use Dell and left HP."
        • "Pricing should be more competitive as compared to other vendors available in the market."

        What is most valuable?

Overall, the experience has been really good.

The support is really prompt and they deliver their service on time. We have no issues with the product and the support received from Dell.

In fact, the technical support provided is the best feature. These days you can get any hardware from multiple vendors. That said, what really matters is the support. For us, how frequently and how quickly we can get the support we need and how easy they are to work with is important. In a lot of cases, the support representative has to have good troubleshooting experience, and with Dell they do.

The initial setup is very easy.

        What needs improvement?

Pricing should be more competitive as compared to other vendors available in the market.

Recently we procured 10 laptops from Lenovo due to the fact that the hardware specs were much better than Dell and at the same price range. We went ahead with the 10 laptops. Around 40 or 50 laptops are about to expire in our organization. If the support experience from Lenovo turns out to be good, then definitely we will replace our existing infrastructure with Lenovo. That is not the case right now. It just might be the case after we have time to evaluate the services.

For how long have I used the solution?

Thus far, we have been using Dell for more than 10 or 12 years. It's been more than a decade.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The product is stable. We used to have issues with our HP machines. We don't seem to have any with Dell. They don't crash or freeze. They work quite well.

How are customer service and technical support?

Technical support is pretty good, and one of the main reasons we use Dell and left HP. We're quite satisfied with the level of support we get. The only way we would switch is if another company offered just as good a level of support but at a lower cost. We're looking at Lenovo now for that reason. However, we haven't tested their technical support yet.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We used to use HP. We decided to switch due to the support issues we faced. Getting support was really difficult and it was a cumbersome task. Dell has far better support services in place.

The product quality from HP was also not very good. There were frequent failures that we had to deal with.

        How was the initial setup?

The initial set up was straightforward. All we had to do was just enter the login credentials and create new login credentials on each device. Everything was pre-setup. It's such an easy process when you are using Dell laptops.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is okay. It's competitive on the market. However, we have found Lenovo to be next, and that's very interesting to us.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Currently, we are evaluating Lenovo, as they offer the same specs at a lower price point. If they also offer good support, we could potentially leave Dell as well.

What other advice do I have?

        We are a customer.

I have not had much experience with other vendors. There might be other products in the market which are better than Dell, however, for us, the product works quite well.

On a scale from one to ten, I'd rate them at an eight.

If they can work on the pricing and make it more competitive in the market we will continue to buy from them. Otherwise, we'll look for a different option.
