Reliable laptops have streamlined remote onboarding and secured mobile work for our hybrid team
Pros and Cons
    • "I think the only way Dell Business Laptops can be improved is by continuing to work on making them lighter; that's the only complaint I have about the laptops I buy, as some say they're heavy and don't feel like carrying them home or elsewhere."

What is our primary use case?

I am currently using the Dell Pro Max 16.

I choose Dell Business Laptops because of the name Dell itself; I know what I'm getting when I buy a Dell laptop, and it's guaranteed to work and do what I need.

Using Dell Business Laptops makes it much easier for our remote workforce; they can always just remove their laptop, whether they're hotspotting from a phone on the beach or driving down the road as a passenger. The best use case is the accessibility of having the laptop whenever they need it.

    What is most valuable?

The way Dell Business Laptops come already enrolled in InTune is one of the most valuable features, as it makes my life much easier when getting new employees onboarded.

The security features of Dell Business Laptops, such as the TPM, secure the laptop so well that it's a backbone of why we use it; should the laptop get lost or stolen, as long as they don't have that TPM code, they're not getting into it.

We have a hybrid workforce, and since COVID, I moved everyone away from desktops to Dell Business Laptops, so it's helped tremendously.

    What needs improvement?

I think the only way Dell Business Laptops can be improved is by continuing to work on making them lighter; that's the only complaint I have about the laptops I buy, as some say they're heavy and don't feel like carrying them home or elsewhere. For the most part, that's all, and the laptop does not even weigh three pounds, but it's still heavy when put into a backpack along with all your other gadgets, so the biggest issue is the weight.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been in the industry for 14 years.

What other advice do I have?

My organization has been using Dell Business Laptops the whole time, but we upgrade them every three years.

When choosing Dell Business Laptops for my organization, I try to address specific challenges such as making sure there's no latency and ensuring that they have the latest and best laptops available.

My top priorities when selecting Dell Business Laptops for my organization are storage and RAM.

If I were recommending Dell Business Laptops to a peer, I would first see what the use case scenario is; depending upon that scenario, whether they're going from the Latitude to the XPS to the Precision or now the Pro Max, I would gauge what they're looking for, but I would recommend a Dell laptop over any other industry laptop there is.

    I rate this product a 10 out of 10.

Supports daily tasks and demanding design software with reliable performance and responsive service
    Pros and Cons
    • "They have good response time, perform the job well, and solve problems."
    • "Battery life is an area that could always be improved, particularly for laptops."

What is our primary use case?

Dell Enterprise Laptops Pro and Pro Max models are used throughout the organization. The laptops are primarily used for daily work tasks.Users utilize Office applications, and the Pro Max laptops run Autodesk software along with other design software.

    What is most valuable?

The CPUs in Dell Enterprise Laptops Pro Max models are sufficient for the required tasks. The processor model is the i7, which is now Core i7.Downtime from both crashes and repairs occurs, but Dell typically resolves issues quickly. When encountering especially complex problems, resolution can take longer, though this is expected.Technology in general helps the organization grow. If there is a difference between Dell Enterprise Laptops and HP or other hardware producers, I cannot specify one. The differences that would actually make an impact usually occur at a level above client hardware, so for the clients themselves, I cannot definitively say there is a significant difference, though there may be minor variations.

    What needs improvement?

Battery life is an area that could always be improved, particularly for laptops. Users have complained that battery duration is shorter than in the past, but this is also due to applications such as Teams consuming more energy, which is logical. The laptops function as expected, so I am uncertain what else could be improved without transitioning to a different product line, since Dell has different lines for other purposes. For the purposes needed, the current model performs well.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have worked at different employers, but every employer has used Dell, so I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops practically the entire time.

How are customer service and support?

I am using their customer service. They have good response time, perform the job well, and solve problems. Usually they demonstrate knowledge in their area of expertise.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have heard from colleagues who recently switched to Dell that reliability with HP was less consistent. Since I have never really worked at an organization that had only non-Dell laptops, I cannot definitively say this from personal experience. However, from what I hear, Dell Enterprise Laptops are more reliable.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Especially with the rebate or discount received from Dell, it is typically a good purchase.

What other advice do I have?

I am happy with the results because in most cases I did not have the power to change the decision.I simply use Dell Enterprise Laptops, so I did not remember changing from something else.As a gamer myself, I appreciate Dell Enterprise Laptops Pro Max with a good graphics card, but beyond that, I do not have a specific feature from the laptops that I believe is better than other features. The processor did not influence the decision to go with Dell Enterprise Laptops, but that was also because the organization was already with Dell.I would not know anything that they should add or recommend them to do in the future. The overall review rating for this product is 8 out of 10.

Offers reliable performance for meetings and presentations with seamless connectivity
    Pros and Cons
    • "What I really liked is when I was working externally and had to plug in an HDMI cable, I could just put it in and it immediately worked."
    • "What I did not like was the quality of the touchpad."

What is our primary use case?

My main use of Dell Enterprise Laptops is regular day-to-day work with Excel, Google Sheets, Google Mail, and regular office use. I am not doing any specific applications; it is just office and web-based work. I use Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, and regular office work. I am not doing any 3D design or that kind of work; it is more regular office tasks.

    What is most valuable?

The feature I liked the most about Dell Enterprise Laptops was the quality of the keyboard.

Except for those memory allocation problems, it worked really flawlessly. What I really liked is when I was working externally and had to plug in an HDMI cable, I could just put it in and it immediately worked. I do quite a lot of presentations at other partners and distributors, and you come in 10 to 20 minutes before the event starts and you need to be sure that you open it, plug it in, and it works. Dell Enterprise Laptops delivered on this nine and a half out of 10 times. If it wasn't working, then it was a Microsoft update again.

    What needs improvement?

What I did not like was the quality of the touchpad.

Dell Enterprise Laptops handled the workload I had initially, but over time it got really slow when I was in a Teams meeting and had to open some Google Sheets or Excel sheets at the same time. I do not think that has to do with Dell Enterprise Laptops itself, but I think that has to do with the resource allocation which Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Excel are doing at the same time. That was really frustrating as it took an enormous amount of time. That is when I reached out to IT to see whether we could do an update with additional memory, and that is when I got advice to switch to something else.

If you would have asked me two weeks ago that question, I would probably have said that I really appreciated Dell Enterprise Laptops. But in the last couple of months, I ran into a lot of problems from a resources and memory perspective, which I do not think has anything to do with the device. It is more a Microsoft resources allocation thing. The funny thing is that I was given another device which runs a different OS, which performed faster and better with less memory. I do not think it is a hardware problem. I used to sell hardware myself, so I am completely convinced that it has to do with Microsoft and allocation of resources. I was very happy with Dell Enterprise Laptops, but my current device is way faster.

I am not sure if Dell Enterprise Laptops will need to improve their hardware in some way to keep up with the others because I do not know the Dell hardware well enough. If I was given a device, I looked into that. But if I would look at what is the story with regards to what I thought, if I would have taken my old Dell Latitude and I turned it around, I looked at the bottom and I could see 'memory upgrade here,' I would probably have taken a screwdriver, opened it, added an NVMe chip or something else to it, and it would probably have boosted it again. Now I looked at it and I thought this is something I really need to start opening systems, which I am not going to do.

If there is an easy-to-use memory update and upgrade possibility without an engineer or screwdrivers, then that would definitely have helped me because then I most likely would not have reached out to my team and I would go on a marketplace or Amazon, look for a memory module which would have fitted, and I would just have bought it personally without my HQ department interfering and I would have added the memory, and I would have been good to go again. Now I looked at it and I thought I am not going to solve this; I need to reach out. Then you reach out, and they say 'Okay, listen, we are kind of converting to MacBook Pros now; we will send you a MacBook Pro.'

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for the last one and a half to two years.

How are customer service and support?

I did not use customer support at any point.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Negative

    How was the initial setup?

I was given Dell Enterprise Laptops and the moment I was given it, I was told that it was completely pre-installed, but something went wrong, so in the end, I deployed it myself.

From an experience perspective, it was a hassle, but that does not have anything to do with the device itself. That is poor provisioning from my head office to the local subsidiary where they thought they were sending a perfectly pre-provisioned laptop which was not. I had to figure out all these things myself in the first two to three days you start working for a company. That has nothing to do with the device; that is policy and readiness and enablement from our own company, which was kind of poor. But Dell Enterprise Laptops itself immediately booted and started, and that went all.

    What about the implementation team?

I did not use documentation to help myself; I used my phone to call the support team.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

It was not the Dell support team.

What other advice do I have?

I think there are a lot of users who just say 'Okay, it is not working anymore. Here you go. Give me another one.' I used to work for Microsoft myself, so I am quite familiar with the Windows OS. In the end, if I could have accelerated Dell Enterprise Laptops again, I would have kept it because the keyboard was good and everything was working quite fine. My review rating for Dell Enterprise Laptops is 9.

Touchscreen functionality has improved day-to-day efficiency during long shifts
    Pros and Cons
    • "With Dell Enterprise Laptops, organizations would be happy with the service and with the price point."
    • "From personal experience, we are still dealing with overheating issues."

What is our primary use case?

Dell Enterprise Laptops are our main tool for work-related operations. Our technology team manages a fleet of approximately 1200 to 1300 Dell laptops. On a day-to-day basis, we use Dell Enterprise Laptops to help our end users by tracking tickets, answering help desk calls through a softphone, managing email, and accessing various systems. Dell Enterprise Laptops are the main tool we use for our day-to-day operations, with only our mobile phones being secondary to them.

My team works 10-hour shifts, four days a week, and we are on call in the evening, so we may be using Dell Enterprise Laptops on overnight calls as well as weekend support because we also assist our users on Saturdays.

    What is most valuable?

The best feature that Dell Enterprise Laptops offer is ease of use. I very much enjoy the touchscreen capability and love that you can flip it to open the laptop all the way over and make it a tablet. I have found that the touchscreen option is something I use heavily.

The touchscreen on Dell Enterprise Laptops helps in case I undock and walk around with my laptop and forget my mouse because sometimes you forget to grab things. The ease of going back and forth between browser tabs, into emails, opening up chats, and navigating through all means of Dell Enterprise Laptop is very useful.

Dell Enterprise Laptops have positively impacted my organization. About 90% of our fleet are Dell laptops or desktops, and I would even say 98% of our fleet. We have a very small percentage of folks who use Macs, but other than that, all our users seem to be very happy with Dell laptops.

    What needs improvement?

I do not have specifics on how Dell Enterprise Laptops can be improved at the moment. If we want beefier, stronger laptops, it would just be a matter of ordering the next model up, which we do have those options between Pros and Pro Maxes.

The machines do get a little hot. I believe that has been worked on in the current models based on a presentation I saw about how the new models have boards that have been manufactured to better the airflow on the laptops based on the overheating issue that many people have spoken to Dell about. From personal experience, we are still dealing with overheating issues. While I did see the presentation about how Dell is combating the overheating based on the airflow of the laptops, we do not currently have that, so we have not put that theory into practice.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for nine years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The reliability and stability that Dell Enterprise Laptops have provided is all I have ever known within my environment, and I have been happy. At times, the laptops have been the main issue that I have experienced, but I am curious what future models will present. Dell Enterprise Laptops are stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Dell Enterprise Laptops support the growth and changing needs in our organization as we need them to, though they do not really have other options. They handle our needs well enough on an average basis.

How are customer service and support?

I think we have had great customer support from Dell Enterprise Laptops. All the reps that I have ever worked with have been helpful. They have come back to us with the needed information, budgeting information, and other resources. We have been very happy with them.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I only use Dell Enterprise Laptops. Our entire organization, for the whole time that I have been at my company, has used Dell laptops. I have not known any other type of hardware within our environment.

    How was the initial setup?

    Dell Enterprise Laptops are on-premises.

    What was our ROI?

We have seen a return on investment with Dell Enterprise Laptops. The return on investment is that we have saved money. As a nonprofit, saving money where needed is always important for us, and that is probably the best area where the return on investment has been outstanding for us.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience has always been good as far as pricing, setup cost, and licensing for Dell Enterprise Laptops. I have never really had much trouble with that.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Dell Enterprise Laptops a nine. Our main issue may have been the overheating of the laptops, but based on a presentation I saw, I can see that efforts have been made with how the models are now being manufactured to help the airflow issue that Dell laptops have presented to the user base in the past.

With Dell Enterprise Laptops, organizations would be happy with the service and with the price point. Depending on who they are, whether a for-profit or nonprofit, I feel that we get good pricing for a nonprofit company. I believe I have been thorough with this review.

Improved productivity through reliable performance and fewer hardware issues
    Pros and Cons
    • "Dell Enterprise Laptops have positively impacted my organization by making us much more productive, offering speed and reliability, and being less problematic than our older versions."
    • "I would like to see fewer driver updates, especially when they're new, in order for it to be a ten for me."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Dell Enterprise Laptops is as an endpoint. In my day-to-day work, all of our colleagues carry Dell Enterprise Laptops, typically office users as well as in our branches.

    What is most valuable?

Dell Enterprise Laptops offer plenty of USB ports, good screen graphics, and reliability. Dell Enterprise Laptops have positively impacted my organization by making us much more productive, offering speed and reliability, and being less problematic than our older versions.

Productivity has improved as we have seen fewer help desk calls with hardware issues with the laptops, and we have ordered faster processors and more memory, so the device performance has improved greatly for all of our users that use Office and Office 365 applications.

    What needs improvement?

I think Dell Enterprise Laptops could be improved by placing the microphone on the outside of the unit for when people use their laptop at a desktop and they close the shell. I would also like to see a mute button or a mute light actually on the keyboard, as that would help.

We still need both USB-A and USB-C ports, as there is a lot of legacy USB-A still out in the environment.

We would like to see an improvement in the naming convention, as we're used to the 5, 7, and 9 series, and we find that the Pro, Pro Plus, Pro Premium is really confusing.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for six years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Dell Enterprise Laptops are stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Dell Enterprise Laptops' scalability is easy to deploy, and most users know how to use them.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for Dell Enterprise Laptops is excellent; the account team is good and very involved.

How would you rate customer service and support?

    Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used the same solution but just older laptops.

    How was the initial setup?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing with Dell is that they remain competitive in that pricing area, also offering us incentives for buying early or buying in large quantity. We lease through DFS.

    What was our ROI?

I have not yet seen a return on investment because we just deployed them.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing with Dell is that they remain competitive in that pricing area, also offering us incentives for buying early or buying in large quantity.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Dell Enterprise Laptops, I evaluated Lenovo as one of the other options.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Dell Enterprise Laptops an eight out of ten. I chose an eight because I would like to see fewer driver updates, especially when they're new, in order for it to be a ten for me.

My advice to others looking into using Dell Enterprise Laptops is that they seem to be good for the money.

Portability and strong support have enabled remote work and fast issue resolution
    Pros and Cons
    • "The biggest return on investment when using Dell Enterprise Laptops is the versatility and the ability to work from anywhere, which makes remote work much easier."

What is our primary use case?

The main use cases for Dell Enterprise Laptops are employees that work remotely and use them around the office if they need to bring them to different events.

      What is most valuable?

The feature of Dell Enterprise Laptops that I appreciate the most is the versatility, as they can do whatever you want with them. They're light and portable.

Dell Enterprise Laptops allow us to be more mobile. We can work from anywhere.

The biggest return on investment when using Dell Enterprise Laptops is the versatility and the ability to work from anywhere, which makes remote work much easier.

      What needs improvement?

The laptops can always be lighter and faster, but I think they're pretty sufficient right now.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for probably the last dozen years or so.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I've never had an issue with the stability and reliability of the laptops. The service is great on them. If there's ever an issue, Dell usually shows up at the office within a day and fixes it.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Since 2020, everyone's using a laptop now, so it was very easy to expand the usage of Dell Enterprise Laptops and very easy to convert.

How are customer service and support?

Regarding customer service and technical support, if there is something wrong, we log a ticket and someone comes right to the office and fixes it. I appreciate the fact that we don't have to ship it out or anything. We have the pro agreement, which provides this service.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I was using Dell Enterprise Laptops before, and everything's been Dell for years.

      How was the initial setup?

I don't see any challenges with the deployment process of the laptops. The initial setup with how we want it to work takes a little bit of time, but other than that, it's pretty easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing of the laptops is fine. We have a decent deal with Dell, and I think they're affordable.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have not evaluated other laptops in my journey recently, as everything's been Dell.

What other advice do I have?

Dell Enterprise Laptops use an Intel CPU inside. The Intel processor handles my workloads smoothly, so I don't see any issues. The processors are great and speed everything up. I can't think of any specific outcomes or improvements that I would attribute to the Intel processor off the top of my head. I'm not sure the Intel processor influenced my purchase or refresh decisions when choosing enterprise laptops. I got a new laptop because of expiring laptops needing to be refreshed since they were older, which helped speed things up. My advice to other companies that are considering getting Dell Enterprise Laptops is that they're good, they work, they're affordable, and they're quick. I would rate the support a nine out of ten.

Repairability and responsive support have streamlined our IT maintenance experience
      Pros and Cons
      • "From the IT admin side, my favorite feature of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the repairability of the machines, which has always been easy for me and my team."
      • "Again, the back-end support was a really huge reason why we stuck with Dell, as it was straightforward to get something fixed back when hardware wasn't as reliable as it is."
      • "There are a few areas for improvement in Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops that I would suggest; one is a longer lead on the docking stations, which is primarily causing a lot of people bother at the moment."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is that our users primarily use them for Outlook, Excel, presentations, and day-to-day office applications.

      What is most valuable?

From the IT admin side, my favorite feature of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops is the repairability of the machines, which has always been easy for me and my team. For users, it's straightforward, and there are not many complications involved in locating the bits and parts on laptops, the right buttons, keys, and ports. So they've been fairly straightforward.

I have realized some benefits from using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops; previously, the customer support, online support, and phone support were always very good and had a lot of cop-on to it. When we were speaking with your engineers, they knew what was fixable, what wasn't, and didn't have to put me through steps one to ten every single time to fix something. They recognized from the very start they were speaking to someone who knew there was an issue with the laptop, so that has always had a grounding with us and kept us with Dell, specifically the back-end support.

      What needs improvement?

There are a few areas for improvement in Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops that I would suggest; one is a longer lead on the docking stations, which is primarily causing a lot of people bother at the moment.

Additionally, a lot of the bloatware that comes with the PC, such as the Optimizer and Dell peripheral applications, are OTT and get in the way rather than help sometimes.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops for about 15 to 20 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Regarding the stability and reliability of Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, my assessment is that they don't fail very often, and the hardware does what I expect it to do. However, I believe some of the software could be removed because I don't need it all the time. Overall, it's a pretty good experience really.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops scale well with the growing needs of my company, as there's always a product that suits the needs of engineers, field sales managers, or executives. There's always something available, and no tech is out there that isn't available on laptops, so it's pretty good.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate Dell support an 8.5 or nine out of ten since you're not too long on the phone. You're talking with someone, and sometimes you might get triaged, which is fine, however, you always end up fairly quickly with the person who's going to fix your problem or help you get a replacement part out. We've never been on the phone longer than 15 minutes with any issue I've ever had with Dell, and that's a huge bonus to me.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

      What was our ROI?

I wouldn't say we quantify exactly the return on our investment into these solutions, however, we have an internal write-off of three years on laptops, and we don't find ourselves returning laptops before the three years. We're getting at least three years; we had one individual who came in from the cold, out from the field, and he'd had his laptop for eight and a half years, and he surprised us how well he was doing with it. He didn't want to change; the only reason he had to change was the Windows 11 upgrade. So we gave him back the PC, the old 8.5, maybe an E-series, and he just stuck to using it for himself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing for Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops was that pricing and setup for the laptops and accessories weren't a challenge. It was something, when everything was moved online with Dell, my execs, who I've had a number of, were all extremely good in taking our time and building up a proper Premier page. It became a tool for me to use without annoying them. Any tweaks that needed to be made were always communicated via a quick email or a conversation to touch base and provide the latest features that might have been included with a laptop, and update the Premier page to remove the older configurations and retain the newer ones. It's been pretty good; we liked it.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Before choosing Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops, we considered some Lenovo models that many people prefer, and a significant number of gamers working with us tend to prefer ASUS machines. However, we prefer not to go that way unless absolutely necessary for something that the user specifically wanted.

Some people really prefer the Lenovo lightness of some of the X1 Carbons and the keyboards, while others do not prefer the keyboards on Dell machines, and that's just a preference.

For field personnel who need to use the keyboard on a laptop, we sometimes make an accommodation and provide them with a different laptop. Otherwise, they're docked with the laptop and use a standard keyboard, so keyboard preferences are there.

What other advice do I have?

The pros and cons between all these suppliers include that Dell is in Ireland, which helps an awful lot. I have had a good relationship with the executives, and anytime there's ever an issue, they've been helpful to fix it.

Cost has been comparable. Again, the back-end support was a really huge reason why we stuck with Dell, as it was straightforward to get something fixed back when hardware wasn't as reliable as it is.

I rate Dell Enterprise Desktops and Laptops nine out of ten.

Reliable development platform has reduced troubleshooting but still needs better weight and battery
      Pros and Cons

      • "Regarding Dell Business Laptops' AI capabilities, I find that the accuracy and reliability of its output still have major room for improvement."

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Dell Business Laptops is for development purposes, primarily to run AI workloads, and I run multiple AI workloads.

I use Dell Business Laptops with OpenVINO, specifically Intel OpenVINO.

      What is most valuable?

The best features Dell Business Laptops offer are the quality and the entire ecosystem.

What stands out to me is the integration and the quality. Dell Business Laptops have positively impacted my organization by ensuring that the quality and that everything works when plugged in is a truly good feature.

The reliability and quality of Dell Business Laptops have helped my team by reducing the troubleshooting time needed.

      What needs improvement?

I believe Dell Business Laptops can be more lightweight, especially on Intel laptops, and I wish they were more lightweight without fans.

I have additional thoughts about needed improvements, specifically regarding battery life. I chose seven out of ten because I believe currently it is quite good, but there is still room for further improvement on the weight and battery life.

Regarding Dell Business Laptops' AI capabilities, I find that the accuracy and reliability of its output still have major room for improvement.

Provides reliable performance and fast access for educational workflows with strong support
      Pros and Cons
      • "The features of Dell Enterprise Laptops that I find most valuable include the battery life, which is valuable in our environment, along with the screen size and the quality of the notebook itself."
      • "Realizing any return on our investment into Dell Enterprise Laptops is tricky since we are in the public sector, so we do not have profit, and it only costs money."

What is our primary use case?

The main use case for Dell Enterprise Laptops in my organization is for education purposes, including teaching and being taught.

      What is most valuable?

The features of Dell Enterprise Laptops that I find most valuable include the battery life, which is valuable in our environment, along with the screen size and the quality of the notebook itself.

I find the build of Dell Enterprise Laptops valuable; we have few issues, and the new models for teachers feature face recognition and fingerprint capabilities for faster access, along with good hardware, including a good processor, good memory, and a good motherboard.

      What needs improvement?

In my opinion, Dell Enterprise Laptops could be improved by offering color options such as pink. Pink is a nice color that I think would enhance the aesthetic. Dell Enterprise Laptops are not currently available in pink.

My advice for someone considering Dell Enterprise Laptops based on my experience would be to experience them, and if you do not like them, talk to your account manager or vendor, as it is the best way to see if they are suitable for your organization.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in my current field, focusing on technology and education, for a significant amount of time.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I assess the stability and reliability of Dell Enterprise Laptops as very good; we have little errors and little malfunctions, so overall, it is very good.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Dell Enterprise Laptops scale well with the growing needs of our organization; you can use them longer than you planned, and they last longer. Sometimes we even extend the usage period by one year.

How are customer service and support?

I evaluate their service and customer support as very good; if there is something wrong, it gets solved in a reasonable amount of time. If I encounter problems, I can call my account manager, and he solves it for us.

If I were to give a rating to their support on a scale of one to ten, I would rate it an eight because I think it can always be better. I do not have a specific suggestion for where they need to improve their service or support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Positive

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Prior to adopting Dell Enterprise Laptops, we only had some other laptops for specific users for heavy-duty gaming purposes, and then we had to choose another model.

      How was the initial setup?

My experience deploying Dell Enterprise Laptops is smooth; we take them out of the box, connect them to our Microsoft 365, InTune, and Autopilot, and perform a new Windows installation before giving them to the user, so they do what they need to do.

      What was our ROI?

Realizing any return on our investment into Dell Enterprise Laptops is tricky since we are in the public sector, so we do not have profit, and it only costs money.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with pricing, setup costs, and licensing of Dell Enterprise Laptops shows that the prices are in range, so the price we are offered is within expectations.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We switched to Dell Enterprise Laptops primarily because of the use case; the user wanted a specific laptop for their job, and we could not find a model from another vendor with the same specifications. Before choosing Dell Enterprise Laptops, I never had other laptops to consider overall, as we have 22 years of Dell experience, and while we looked at other models or other vendors, we always came back to Dell Enterprise Laptops because the service was very good.

What other advice do I have?

The models of Dell Enterprise Laptops I am using include the Pro line, with specifics such as the Pro Plus 16, and for students, we have the 3300 series, along with the 2-in-1 laptops.

We mostly use Intel processors in our laptops. The model of CPU we use is mostly from generation five, but now it is seven because we have scaled up due to AI development.

The type of workloads users are running on Dell Enterprise Laptops is not very intensive; in some cases, we use Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or InDesign, but mostly Office applications and web applications.

I cannot describe any specific outcomes or improvements that I would attribute to the Intel processors in Dell Enterprise Laptops. When choosing enterprise laptops, the Intel processor does influence my purchase or refresh decisions; we prefer Dell Enterprise Laptops with Intel inside only because we have good experience with them.

The Intel processors handle our workloads sufficiently compared to what I expected. I would give this review an overall rating of eight out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

      On-premises

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Touchscreen functionality and reliable performance have supported daily cybersecurity operations effectively
      Pros and Cons
      • "There have been so many improvements—speed, reliability, battery life; it gets better every year with the new release that they make."
      • "I evaluate Dell Enterprise Laptops customer service and technical support, and tech support is a whole other issue."

What is our primary use case?

My main use cases for Dell Enterprise Laptops are related to what they are currently selling now, and we got a great price on them.

On a day-to-day basis, I do cybersecurity, so my whole task is to monitor the entire network, all the computers, the EDRs, MDRs. I make sure no bad things are trying to happen.

      What is most valuable?

The feature of Dell Enterprise Laptops I like the most is the touchscreen.

I prefer the touchscreen because I dislike the trackpad. The touchscreen is a good way to go.

There have been so many improvements—speed, reliability, battery life. It gets better every year with the new release that they make.

      What needs improvement?

At the moment, probably nothing can be improved about Dell Enterprise Laptops. The weight and size are pretty good for what we use them for, though a better warranty instead of having to buy an extended three-year warranty would be beneficial.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Dell Enterprise Laptops for roughly 20 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability and reliability of the newer ones are great, but the older ones have typical wear and tear issues; nothing out of the ordinary, so far, it's satisfactory.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Dell Enterprise Laptops scale to the growing needs of my company about an eight out of ten; it does the job.

How are customer service and support?

I evaluate Dell Enterprise Laptops customer service and technical support, and tech support is a whole other issue. The tests they make you do for a simple issue are frustrating; you understand what the problem is, but you have to do their testing. Other than that, I have no issues.

From one to ten, I would rate the support about a six or seven, because if I didn't have to do all the unnecessary things they want me to do and they just sent me what I need to fix it, I would give it a ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

      Neutral

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have considered other laptops before choosing Dell Enterprise Laptops; we've tried a few and just come back to Dell Enterprise Laptops for the pricing that we get.

      How was the initial setup?

I would describe my experience with the deployment of Dell Enterprise Laptops as simple, with relatively no pain. I just unbox them, light them up, and they're good to go.

      What was our ROI?

The biggest return on investment for me when using Dell Enterprise Laptops is the support. Every time there's an issue, a tech is on-site and fixes it. We're good to go the next day or two.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been relatively easy, smooth, with no issues.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I have evaluated other CPU vendors, including AMD.

The performance of Intel stood out to me, which is why we stay with Intel. It's the best bang for the buck, pretty much, as an overall purchase.

Choosing Intel is an easy decision; we just go straight for the Intel. It's the best bang for the buck, and we get the performance we need with no issues and no complaints.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to other companies that are considering buying Dell Enterprise Laptops is to focus on price, warranties, and support.

Regarding positive aspects, my recommendation is to follow their model; they are doing it right.

I have rated this review a 9 out of 10.
