Kaspersky Security for Mail Server provides real-time protection. That is a good feature and it provides virus definitions.


Regarding Kaspersky Security for Mail Server, I don't have a comparison with other features, but I think it is better. We have a wide range of security features, blocking suspicious blacklisted emails and emails from spam. It has a good spam filter.


What needs improvement?



Regarding Kaspersky Security for Mail Server, I have not compared with other solutions, but I will compare and provide feedback.


It is a reliable and fast security solution, and I can say it blocks better than other competitor software.


Kaspersky Security for Mail Server has support for Windows and Linux, but regarding improvement, I have to dig deep and will have to do research on that.

What is most valuable?



Kaspersky Security for Mail Server handles spam and phishing attempts well. I have not experienced any spam issues. Its malware detection effectively manages the security of our email system. I am using the Endpoint Security of the same product and have achieved cost savings of up to thirty percent.

I use Kaspersky Security for Mail Server since it provides me protection for PCs and phones while allowing me to monitor emails, links, online purchases, downloads, uploads, and all these things. It is a highly dependable solution.


What is most valuable?



The most valuable feature of the solution stems from the fact that it is a highly reliable and dependable solution. The solution offers complete monitoring, and because of this, you can depend on it in terms of monitoring and protecting everything, including emails, things, uploads, downloads, and everything.


What needs improvement?



The biggest problem in the solution is related to its license renewal since it is pretty hard in Kaspersky to find out the procedure to renew a license. The license renewal is an area that needs improvement in the solution. The license renewal part will be easy if Kaspersky provides users with a clear option in the interface, like a button you can click to enter your serial key number and update it.


For how long have I used the solution?



I have been using Kaspersky Security for Mail Server for two years. I use Kaspersky Security Version 21.3.10.391.

We tried working with Kaspersky technical support when it came to an investigation that we were conducting. We needed further details so we requested certain information from them.

There are between 10 and 15 people in our IT department and they are in charge of maintaining this product, as well as our other solutions.


What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?



Price-wise, I would rate this product a four out of five. It could be a bit cheaper.


Which other solutions did I evaluate?



We have come to know about Proofpoint Email Protection and the features that they provide. For example, they are pretty good in terms of email monitoring, especially because their product performs a deep inspection of both incoming and outgoing emails. In this regard, they are very good when compared to Kaspersky.


What other advice do I have?



I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

You can install the plugins on the same machine hosting your exchange, and it's a good complement for other security solutions

What is our primary use case?



We generally use Sophos for our mail servers, but we added Kaspersky for a second layer of protection. You can install the plugins on the same machine hosting your exchange solution. It's a good complement for Sophos security, which scans the traffic before it reaches your mail service. Kaspersky is on the mail server itself while Sophos handles the incoming traffic. With both of them working together, we have the perfect solution for mail. 

We deploy Kaspersky on-premises because many government institutions in Mozambique don't want to use anything related to the cloud. That's why most of our solutions are on-prem, because our government customers are worried about their sensitive information.


What needs improvement?



It would be great if Kaspersky could do what Sophos does for us. However, we love having these two different technologies doing the same thing. Sometimes Sophos has the patch to block a novel threat, but Kaspersky doesn't. There are also times when Kaspersky is the first to have the patches. We are happy with the product so far. I don't see any improvement that I would advise.


For how long have I used the solution?



We've been using Kaspersky Security for Mail for three years now.


What do I think about the stability of the solution?



Security for Mail Server is a robust and stable solution. Once you deploy it, you don't have to do much.


What do I think about the scalability of the solution?



We have three big client companies using Security for Mail Server with 2,500, 1,500, and 6,000 users, respectively. Many companies in Mozambique use their own on-premise mail servers, so it's an easy sell.


How are customer service and support?



Kaspersky support is good. 


How was the initial setup?



The Kaspersky installation is a medium-level difficulty. You have to understand how the mail server is configured then apply the package on top. It takes a day to fully deploy the solution, and we could handle the deployment ourselves with two technicians. 


What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?



Security for Mail Server is an annual subscription. You pay for one license, and you have full access to all features.


What other advice do I have?



I rate Kaspersky for Mail Server eight out of 10. It's a good complement to our mail security. I recommend it.
