I use the real-time and near real-time dashboard embedding feature of Power BI Embedded Analytics for analytics that are more operational in nature, although real-time reporting is for different use cases that are not part of my profile.
What I appreciate most about Power BI Embedded Analytics is that it is tightly integrated with Microsoft, which is a strong feature. It can integrate with any of the warehouses, data lakes, or lake houses. Additionally, you can get the data into the stack and report directly on Power BI, which provides plug-and-play functionality, though this is not always recommendable. I also find self-service analytics to be more flexible and better with plug-and-play functionality.
Custom visualization has helped my business needs by allowing me to create flow charts required for customers. The value depends on the use case. If customers want to embed multiple charts to have a view that will help them with their decision-making purposes, customizations in Power BI are always possible.
Low-level security features such as role-based access control (RBAC) are always possible in Power BI, which is beneficial for data accessibility.
I find Power BI Embedded Analytics to be a fairly good reporting tool and dashboarding tool. The color palette and everything about it is good. It would be beneficial to have reporting on top of a data warehouse, a lake house, or directly on an Excel-based solution. If Power BI can come as a full stack similar to SAP Analytics Cloud, it can embed with Azure very quickly. However, the full suite provided by SAP, starting from ERP through reporting, is somewhat loosely coupled, which can be helpful for some clients. Overall, Power BI is a very good tool for reporting.
Embedded analytics may lack some features from the modeling perspective, such as dimension modeling, and there are multiple factors that lead us to prefer analytics on top of the warehouse rather than going for embedded analytics.
I am using the cloud model of Power BI Embedded Analytics, as it is fully on the cloud.

My thoughts about machine learning integration indicate that machine learning is part of a slightly different stack than what we are discussing regarding descriptive reporting. We are talking about dashboards that illustrate what data is telling us. Machine learning has predictive and prescriptive models that explain more than just historical data. There are products that are more efficient and better designed for those purposes. Still, all projects developed on top of machine learning can ultimately have their data reported onto Power BI, positioning it effectively as a reporting tool.

A specific example of a report that I built using Power BI Embedded Analytics is when I import data from a PostgreSQL database, model the data to have a star model, visualize the data with an eight-page report, and publish it in Power BI Embedded Analytics service so that my direction and stakeholders can see and interact with the report.
