I have used Temenos Quantum to develop banking applications in the Middle East.

I have a background in native app development using Android and iOS. If I compare Temenos to Android or iOS, I can say that Temenos Quantum offers good security. Temenos Quantum is good for making applications for hybrid platforms like Android and iOS.

There is a lot of room for improvement in Temenos Quantum. Temenos Quantum is not quite stable yet. Improvements can be made to make Temenos Quantum stable. Improvements are needed in the solution, considering how my company needs to raise a lot of tickets with the technical support team of Temenos for some basic issues every time.

There are some features in Temenos Quantum that I want to be stabilized by Temenos, just like in Android Studio and Xcode. Building an application using Temenos Quantum is not difficult, but my company needs to seek some support for the solution all the time.

I have experience with Temenos Quantum for a year and a half. My company has a partnership with Temenos.

It is not a very scalable solution. Temenos Quantum was opted by the bank where it is used because of its security features. To be honest, I would only suggest building your applications on native platforms or other hybrid platforms, like Android, iOS, React Native, or Flutter, rather than Temenos Quantum.

Temenos Quantum is mostly used in the Middle East countries, Egypt, Ethiopia, Jordan, some parts of the USA, and a little bit in Europe. The main use of the solution is in the Middle East countries.

In my company, 120 to 130 people work with Temenos Quantum.

I have contacted the solution's technical support. The support team was really helpful since whenever I used to schedule calls with them, most of the time, they tried to sort out my problems. I rate the technical support a seven and a half to eight out of ten.

From the beginning itself, my company has been using Temenos Quantum.

The initial setup of Temenos Quantum was easy. You need to install Java JDK and Android Studio to support the setup phase of Temenos Quantum.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.

Temenos Quantum is an expensive tool. Taking into consideration my company's use of Temenos Quantum for a bank, the costs attached to the solution ranged from 3,00,000 to 5,00,000 USD for building one application for the bank.

I would recommend others to use Android or any other platform over Temenos since Temenos Quantum is not an open-source platform that allows you to directly download, install, and use. You need a special license from Temenos to install and use Temenos Quantum.

The security offered by the product is good, and building applications using the solution is not difficult.

I rate the overall tool between six and seven out of ten.

I use Temenos Quantum mainly for building hybrid mobile apps, and it is fantastic for creating user interfaces. Thanks to its Visual Aid feature, I can design forms without struggling with complicated code. I simply use a visual interface with drag-and-drop options, which gives me better control over how my app looks. And if I need to write code, it's a breeze with JavaScript ES6, and I don't have to bother with extra frameworks. What's even better is that tasks like Duo Integration are a lot simpler compared to other platforms, saving me time and effort in app development. It is a user-friendly tool that helps me build apps efficiently.

The best thing about Temenos Quantum is how it smoothly connects with Temenos Fabric. This simplifies our quantum application by handling identity, authentication, and security tasks seamlessly, saving us from extra coding. It's like an enterprise service hub, letting us use different APIs within the fabric easily. This simplification makes it easier to link our front-end app with the middleware and connect to various endpoints while keeping everything secure.

In my experience, one area where Temenos Quantum could improve is in the flexibility of widgets and additional libraries. While Temenos provides a set of widgets for development, they may not meet all requirements, and crafting custom widgets or libraries can be quite a challenge. Unlike some other platforms, Temenos Quantum doesn't readily offer extra libraries, meaning developers like me have to write our own code to create the specific widgets we need. This can be a time-consuming and complex process.

I have been using Temenos Quantum for nine years.

Temenos has become much more stable over time. I have used Temenos from version 3.5 up to version 9, and I noticed a significant improvement in stability. In the earlier versions, like 6.5, I encountered many errors that needed various fixes when building Jira or the APK. With Temenos Quantum 9.x, it has become much more stable and reliable for my work.

Temenos is scalable, especially when compared to some other frameworks like Flutter or React. It generally offers good scalability and performance. However, if a page becomes too complex or has a lot of resources, it can lead to slower loading times. It is essential to aim for simplicity in mobile apps. If complexity is introduced, it might impact the performance, and that's something I have noticed while working with Temenos Quantum. Approximately 100 people use the solution at our company.

In terms of production support, the response time is generally faster and more efficient. However, for staging deployment or non-production stages, the response time can be slower, often taking two to three days, which requires some patience. I would rate the support a seven out of ten.

Before adopting Temenos Quantum, the company initially used Ionic for mobile app development. However, they eventually transitioned from Ionic to Temenos Quantum because Ionic's technical support was bad.

The initial setup was fairly simple. We just needed to do two things: install Java (version 8) and set up the Android SDK for building Android apps.

It is on the expensive side and the price is determined based on usage.

I would definitely recommend Temenos to others. The main reason is that it allows for screen design development with minimal to no coding required, making it user-friendly for creating app interfaces. It is very useful for banking and it is a good product. Overall, I would rate it an eight out of ten.

It specializes in providing core banking solutions to banks worldwide. Every bank in the world requires support to manage its client data and transaction logs, and Temenos offers a comprehensive platform to address these needs. It provides two main components within its suite of solutions. The first is Temenos T24, which constitutes the complete core banking solution provided by Temenos. The second component is known as Temenos Infinity which serves as a versatile and user-friendly software that seamlessly connects the core banking platform to end-user applications. If a bank wants to create a mobile application for its retail customers, Temenos offers prebuilt, customizable mobile application templates that banks can tailor to their specific requirements and deploy.

The main benefit lies in its exceptional speed of implementation. When building a comprehensive core banking solution and accompanying retail solution from scratch, the endeavor can be incredibly time-consuming, often taking several years. Temenos offers banks a fast-track approach to deployment. Once the core banking system is integrated, it can be swiftly deployed, typically within a matter of a few months. A retail application can be tailored and deployed in a similarly expedited timeframe. This significantly reduces the time it takes for a bank to implement the necessary infrastructure and provide its customers with essential services.

The most valuable thing related to Temenos is that it is fully prebuilt, essentially a blank slate. It can be deployed on local servers or in the cloud, and simultaneously, the bank can acquire a retail application. It ensures a straightforward installation process, much like installing software such as MS Word. The end-to-end retail application, with all the fundamental features required by banks, is readily available right out of the box. This means that core functionalities like trial management, payment management, beneficiary management, and more are already integrated and preconfigured. Once it is properly deployed, an end user can immediately start using it without the need for extensive customization or development.

It operates as a closed-loop system, meaning not every user or developer can freely access all of its products and features. In the realm of development, there are often challenges with the out-of-the-box applications that could benefit from significant improvement. When a bank acquires a new platform, there may be issues that need to be addressed before deployment. Rectifying these issues would represent a substantial leap forward for them. One particular feature that I've personally had to develop from scratch within Temenos is QR payments. Currently, Temenos does not natively support these features. It would be highly beneficial if future iterations of Temenos could incorporate support for QR-based payment methods, as it would enhance the platform's capabilities and align it more closely with modern payment trends.

I have two and a half years of experience with it.

I found them to be remarkably stable.

It is an impressive product, designed with microservice and micro-app architectures, which means it offers infinite scalability potential. When starting from scratch, you have the freedom to create a fully customizable and endlessly expandable system. Within my company, we have roughly a thousand developers, and in larger organizations, you can expect to find even more, given the size and scale of multiple companies and organizations.

Temenos provides its ticketing platform where you can report any issues that you're unable to resolve. Once you raise a ticket, a developer, a member of the product team, or someone from their team will reach out to you to assist in resolving the problem. The responsiveness of their support is quite commendable and varies depending on the client. In our experience, we received responses within a couple of hours. They engage in calls with us, helping to debug issues and providing solutions to the problems we encounter.

I had experience with Flexio, which is another comprehensive core banking solution. While Flexio offers solid functionality, it falls short in certain areas, particularly in terms of end-to-end user support. Unlike Temenos, Flexio lacks integrated retail APIs and a retail application. There is a difference in their architectural approaches. Flexio adopts a multi-tier architecture, while Temenos operates on a single-layer architecture. The choice between the two depends on the client's specific preferences and how they wish to handle data logging and system organization.

It is similar to using any other hybrid application development tools where you start from the ground up. In the case of Temenos Quantum, you leverage Temenos's products, such as on-prem virtualization and others, to build a product entirely from scratch. This entails creating every page and feature from the ground up within the platform.

Based on what I've heard and experienced, the return on investment (ROI) has been quite favorable.

One valuable piece of advice I would offer is to thoroughly examine the platform before committing. Given the complexity and extensive features of the platform, it's crucial to research thoroughly its intricacies and ensure that everything is properly configured to harness the full potential of the system. Temenos provides a comprehensive platform that aspiring developers can access. Once you've made the necessary payment, you gain access to their learning center, where you can acquire in-depth knowledge about the platform and its functionalities. I would rate it eight out of ten.

We use it for our retail operations.

Its greatest advantage lies in its exceptional security and robustness. It effectively addresses the critical concern of providing top-tier security for data transmission across various banking applications.

We have encountered several challenges with Visualizer and it would be beneficial to improve it. When developing our application, we also encountered certain issues related to delays and time-consuming builds.

I have been working with it for one year.

I find it to be generally stable, but there is room for improvement, especially when it comes to handling pending applications. While the services and overall structure are quite well-engineered, there is still a need for further enhancement on the front end side and individual implementations.

It offers good scalability. There are around one hundred and fifty people, including upper management, colleagues, and both junior and senior team members, who are actively engaged in projects on the Temenos platform.

When it comes to their support team, my experience hasn't been particularly positive. We've had numerous interactions with them, and a lot of issues have arisen during these encounters. Most of the time, the support team has been unable to provide guidance or in-depth knowledge about their own product and it seems that the development team, the core team, understands the product far better than the support team.

Previously, we used Uber DX for the development of banking applications but we stitched to Temenos Quantum due to its outstanding performance. Its readily available code and the highly structured nature of the platform are exceptional. It comes with databases, microservices, and a range of services, making it a comprehensive solution. It is designed for significant projects and complex architectures and it minimizes time loss and enhances our productivity.

Regarding the initial setup, I don't find it to be overly complicated. The system follows a well-structured approach, encompassing presentation, business logic, and more.

Overall, I would rate it seven out of ten.

We use Temenos Quantum for in-house application development, such as the loan origination application for financial institutions and microfinance banks, and Accelerator, such as point Internet banking for individual and corporate customers, and onboarding users to different applications called origination.

The most valuable feature is usability. You can develop components inside it and reuse them in different parts of your application, wherever needed. You can replicate them. There's also a Quantum Fabric on the back end, which provides a middle layer between your database and the third-party systems you need to integrate. It also provides the integration to handle all sorts of exceptions and timeouts on the Fabric. This makes it easy to troubleshoot errors coming from third-party APIs.

There are many issues when integrating with native sides when building an Android application of the retail accelerator or an iOS application of the retail actuator. We have to incorporate on the native side of things, which creates a lot of issues. Temenos Quantum is a proprietary product and not open source. There is not much information available on the internet for developers to reference when solving issues. You have to contact the help desk, who will then give you an appointment and work to resolve the issue. In terms of what Temenos can do better, they can make the product more mature so that we do not encounter as many black holes when encountering an issue.

I have been using Temenos Quantum for around two years. 

The product is stable, but it is still under active development. We run it in Azure, and it is a stable product. If we diagnose and improve the data area, stability would greatly improve.

The solution’s scalability is good. In the latest releases of Temenos Quantum, the company has introduced microservices. Each accelerator has its database, which can be either PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or another database of your choice. Temenos also ships a separate database for microservices, which can improve the application’s scalability by dividing the load between the microservices database and the central application database.

When the platform was completely new, the initial setup took some time. There were many issues while setting up. Over time, Temenos has been actively developing it, it is more mature. We don't run into issues regularly, but we still face issues occasionally, especially when we are doing things on the latest side. The data area could be improved.

The product is expensive. First, they must purchase the product, and then pay an annual renewal fee. The renewal fee depends on the product details and the license term’s length. Clients can buy licenses for five or ten years and pay for them upfront, or they can set up a yearly renewal cycle. 

The backend is deployed on the cloud, whereas the development environment is on-premises, on our machine.

The feedback has been great, not only from the users, but also from the clients. The platform provides more scalability to their digital applications and greater visibility for the whole spectrum.

There is much room for improvement to make it more mature and stable.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

The solution is currently utilized for digital channels, specifically for video channels.

Comparing other solutions with Temenos Quantum, the latter is less mature and presents several issues. Implementing Temenos Quantum has been challenging, resembling a nightmare compared to the smoother experience with the other.      

The UI lacks flexibility, especially regarding customizations.

There are numerous issues at the fabric end, and working with the visualizer is extremely challenging. Basic development tasks require a high-end machine, and even clicking on an icon initiates a thirty-second processing time. The challenges mainly revolve around fabric and content.

I have been using Temenos Quantum since 2023. 

It remains stable, and I would rate it a nine out of ten, considering the lack of significant complaints about Quantum.

It is scalable. 

Pembina provides support, but due to the stability of Temenos Quantum, we encounter fewer tickets and consequently require less support. Most of the issues arise at the federal level, and we do not have experience using support from Domino's. Our current tech support is from Pembinaos, and the need for support related to Temenos itself is minimal.

It is expensive solution.

I am dissatisfied with this product. When rating, I would give it a two.

I am using Temenos Quantum as a visualizer.

We can use a single channel to create an interface for iOS, Android, and other channels. 

Temenos Quantum needs to improve its usability. It lacks information on the network. We have to contact the support when we are stuck with something. 

Temenos Quantum is a stable product. It is a flexible solution that can be adapted to different channels. My company has 20-30 users for the product. 

The solution is scalable. 

The tool's support team has different streams and channels. The tool's support is good. I rate micro-services-based support a five out of ten. We could not resolve the issue, and the support team we connected with didn't know what was happening. It was new for them as well.

The tool's front-end deployment was easy. We had the versions and release notes available. I knew the version on which I was supposed to work. We were able to import different components to applications. However, microservices installation is a headache for us. 

I rate the product an eight out of ten. 

I use Temenos Quantum for various purposes in my work. It is mainly for mobile and tablet apps, as well as web applications. We also use it as a middleware layer, which is a strong part of their software offerings. Quantum acts as our backend too, providing valuable support in the middle of our systems.

The most valuable thing about Temenos Quantum is that it serves as an all-in-one solution for a company's digital needs. It is a single platform that can cater to mobile and web development requirements, making it convenient for businesses looking to transition into the digital space. Whether it is building mobile apps, stable web applications, or even combining both, Quantum offers a wide range of features, including mobile connectivity, offline capabilities, push notifications, and more, all in one place, making it a go-to choice for digital transformation.

There is definitely room for improvement, especially in the areas of AI, AR, and DR for mobile and web applications. While it has made a start in these areas, it needs to make these technologies more affordable and keep up with the fast-paced IT sector. It is essential to stay current with the industry's rapid changes.

I have been using Temenos Quantum since 2011.

Temenos Quantum is stable and gets frequent updates. They release fixes every two weeks based on customer feedback to address any bugs, and they quickly update the platform when needed.

Temenos Quantum is scalable. You can easily add more servers and environments as needed to handle increased user loads or separate applications. It allows for flexible scaling to match your requirements. We have approximately 500 users of the solution at our company.

Temenos Quantum does a lot of the heavy lifting in our projects, like handling security and app features. It has many out-of-the-box features that make our work easier, but sometimes, when there are issues related to the platform-specific code, we reach out to their support team for help in resolving them. The support is very good and I would rate it an eight out of ten.

I have used Xamarin before, and I find that with Temenos Quantum, I can bring new developers into the project quickly. In just a few weeks or a month, they can start coding alongside me and deliver results. Quantum is user-friendly and makes it easy for even non-professional developers to get involved and contribute to the project. It is a fast option with many out-of-the-box features, saving us from the hassle of extensive development work.

The initial setup is straightforward, especially in the cloud. You get your environment provisioned, download an IDE, and connect to the cloud. From there, you can start developing your applications.

We have looked at other platforms and tools, including older systems and low-code/no-code development platforms. However, what sets Temenos Quantum apart is that it offers something unique that not everyone else provides. It was one of the pioneers in this space, has been around since 2011, and has extensive experience in mobile and web development.

When thinking about using Temenos Quantum, focus on what you really need. If you require support for various platforms like mobile, web, tablets, reporting, and backend services in one package, it can be a good fit. But if you only need a mobile app for one specific purpose, it might not be the right choice. Consider your business needs and budget carefully before deciding. Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten.

We use Quantum as a platform to develop custom applications for a semi-government enterprise that registers new companies. We create B2B and B2C applications. In the B2C applications, companies can register, apply for employee visas, pay their taxes, etc. They're using Microsoft Dynamics as a business solution, and we seamlessly integrate the mobile app through the API manager. 

The visualizer and API manager are super useful. It's easy to create applications for the agent. Automations and other complex tasks can be hard, but it's mostly straightforward. You can create forms and populate tables.

Using the API manager can be complicated when you're dealing with multiple teams, projects, and APIs. Quantum doesn't have user-based access, so I can't restrict parts of the project to specific users. 

The user community isn't that great, and Temenos support is a little slow. You need a lot of coding knowledge to operate it. You need to know mobile application programming and Java. 

I have used Quantum since 2012. 

I rate Quantum five out of 10 for scalability. It doesn't have a lot of native scalability. You must write your own plugins to integrate with it. 

I rate Temenos support six out of 10. They don't have phone, email, or chat support. You can only get support by raising a ticket in the portal, and the response time is slow.

I rate Quantum eight out of 10 for ease of setup. It's easier for me because I have experience. It might be difficult for someone without expertise. It takes up to seven days if you need to migrate data, but the basic installation takes about two days. You need to do a few prerequisites before deployment. Once those are in place, the IT team follows the steps from the Temenos website. 

I rate Quantum seven out of 10 for ROI. 

I rate Quantum 10 out of 10 for affordability. It's cheaper than most. We're paying around $70,000. 

I rate Tenemos Quantum seven out of 10. It's a robust platform with the security that banks require. It helps applications communicate with the system securely through the API manager. However, it isn't user-friendly. which is why I rate it seven. 

I would recommend it for certain use cases. Quantum is a good choice if you need something that's highly secure and does a bit of everything. You can use Azure if you need something simple. It works well for developing iOS and Android apps.

New solutions are constantly coming out, so I can't say which will be the best 10 years from now. We have identified with Quantum and are planning to build our own platform as soon as we get the infrastructure. If you ask me a few months from now, I'll recommend my platform. 

Temenos Quantum is used typically for banking operations. For example, to provide services, such as accounts, loan solutions, or deposits.

If we want to develop a product to introduce in the bank it is possible and has helped the organization. For example, if you want to open a scheme that is specifically targeted at farmers. We can come up with a product that suits those conditions and apply it using Temenos Quantum.

The most valuable features of Temenos Quantum are user-friendliness and customizability.

The security and the interface technology could be better in Temenos Quantum. Additionally, a module that can display all the activities that have been done in the system would be helpful.

I have been using Temenos Quantum for approximately a year and a half.

Temenos Quantum is stable provided you followed all the steps that are needed to be followed in the deployment. If the steps were not followed you can face some challenges, but normally it's stable.

The scalability of Temenos Quantum is good.

We have approximately 100 people using the solution in our offices. We have many different people in different roles using this solution, such as system developers, analysts, front office inquiries clerks, and system administrators.

The support from Temenos Quantum has been helpful.

The initial setup of Temenos Quantum is complicated because there are a lot of steps to follow. If you miss one of those steps, something may go wrong. The length of time of the deployment depends on what exactly you want to deploy. In terms of some of the products that are developed in the system, it might take from three to five hours.

We did the deployment in-house. If we face any challenge, we can escalate the issue with the consultant from Temenos Quantum.

One person can handle the maintenance of Temenos Quantum.

My advice to others is you can customize the solutions according to their needs and the needs of the customer.
