Positive
I have been offering Trend Micro ServerProtect solutions bundled with protection. It always comes with protection along with other solutions such as UPSs for hardware power protection and malware protection. It becomes a value add to customers. We offer not just the hardware but the whole solution including security and backup.
The excellent integration of Trend Micro ServerProtect with cloud platforms has benefited my organization through increased flexibility. In the Philippines, organizations have different appetites - some are open to putting their data on the cloud while others prefer on-premise solutions. Those who prefer on-premise setups often implement a mixture of on-premise and cloud solutions - a hybrid approach. With integration, both environments can be controlled through a single console, which provides a significant advantage to the solution.
Customers consider competitive pricing and features when selecting Trend Micro ServerProtect, but trust is definitely a crucial factor. Almost all solutions have consolidation management and monitoring capabilities, but among all competitors, it comes down to trust and competitive advantages.
I cannot tell much about how Trend Micro ServerProtect could be improved because my trust and confidence with the product are substantial. They continuously improve the product, and people on the ground actively promote it. It's more about awareness and maintaining competitive pricing because competition is growing. Previously, there was only Symantec, Kaspersky, and Trend Micro, but now there are numerous security products in the market.
After Symantec was a big name for quite some time, Trend Micro ServerProtect entered the market. I have been familiar with it for more than five years.
I would assess the impact of real-time malware scanning on server security as continuously and exponentially growing. The advantage with Trend Micro ServerProtect is that it's always updated, with ongoing research and development. Both users and providers are kept updated, enabling us to provide key information to customers.
Deployment time depends on the size and number of users. Installation on one box is straightforward and doesn't take long. The deployment duration is proportional to the number of users to deploy or the number that needs protection.
The technical support of Trend Micro ServerProtect deserves an 8.5 out of 10. I appreciate their team's work.
Positive
For endpoint and server protection, Trend Micro ServerProtect has always been my number one priority when bundling solutions. I trust it more than other solutions, though I maintain second and third choices as alternatives.
The installation and deployment process of Trend Micro ServerProtect is straightforward. While I'm not involved in deployment personally, my team finds it simple as everything is readily available. The process isn't complex.
We maintain a buddy system for deployment, pairing a senior team member with someone in training. However, one person can handle the deployment independently.
Currently in my company, I face a challenge as the president's friend is associated with Sophos. Despite introducing Trend Micro ServerProtect, the president's preference remains influenced by this connection. My confidence remains with Trend Micro ServerProtect, and I would choose it given the opportunity.
I have been working for more than 20 years in different roles and with various solutions.
I work at a system integration company, focusing on architecting and providing solutions for customers. We research technologies and take advantage of training opportunities to better understand products for customer presentations.
I use a centralized management console with Trend Micro ServerProtect as it's a requirement, especially when protecting multiple servers. It's a selling point that you can access all endpoints from a single console, providing notifications for system control.
The automatic update feature has helped maintain security against emerging threats, reducing manual intervention. This results in less time and effort for administrators.
I don't participate in installation as our technical team handles that aspect. My role focuses on sales and positioning.
I rate Trend Micro ServerProtect 8 out of 10.
My primary use case for using Trend Micro ServerProtect is for server protection and endpoint protection.
The best features of Trend Micro ServerProtect are that it is secure, it has minimal false alarms, and it finds threats effectively with good detection capabilities.
I use a centralized management console in Trend Micro ServerProtect with Apex Central, which provides a good overview of activities. Sometimes I try to find the real source of why there is a message, but I cannot determine if it is beneficial because I am missing deeper information.
I cannot specify areas of improvement for this solution as I am not a security specialist. The aspect of needing deeper information is something I have noticed.
I have been working with this solution for about five years now.
It is a stable solution; I can confidently say that.
Trend Micro ServerProtect is a scalable solution.
I have never used the technical support from Trend Micro, so I cannot rate it.
Before Trend Micro ServerProtect, I did not use a different solution.
The initial setup of Trend Micro ServerProtect was done by a service; I have not done it myself.
It was implemented by a third party integrator.
With security solutions, it is difficult to quantify what would have happened without this product. It provides protection from potential attacks. I feel safe, and it helps me sleep better, but I cannot definitively state the return on investment because while we pay for it and our servers are safe, without this product we would have more money but unsecured servers.
I am aware of the price of this solution. The price is good, and the licensing is fair.
I am exclusively using the Trend Micro solution and do not have much experience to dive deep into this product. I am not capable of explaining the differences or why we chose this solution over others due to my limited experience with other products.
I do not have experience integrating Trend Micro ServerProtect with other solutions in my infrastructure. We have a firewall from another distributor, but we do not use it with other products.
I would rate this solution 8 out of 10.

At our company, we use Trend Micro ServerProtect for almost all the servers, including Windows servers and web servers. The solution is able to meet the server security expectations.
Trend Micro ServerProtect has improved our organization by allowing content filtering and adding proxies to content filtering.
The solution allows centralized administration, and every detail can be viewed or checked on the console post-uploading.
The solution should provide features to block devices, specific IPs or URLs.
I have been using Trend Micro ServerProtect for five years.
I would rate the stability an eight out of ten. The solution is stable enough.
There are around 1500 users of Trend Micro ServerProtect in our organization. Presently in our company, we don't plan to increase the usage of the solution. Trend Micro ServerProtect can be easily scaled to around 2500 users in the SMB segment. I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten.
I have communicated with tech support about three or four times, but it needs to improve. I think for some cases, instead of directly denying support the vendor's team should accept the issues, forward it to the research team or production team to process it and implement as a patch for the users. I would rate the tech support a four out of ten.
Neutral
I would rate the setup process a nine out of ten. The solution can be set up very easily. At our company, the product deployment was completed in a week using manual scripts for nearly 1500 devices distributed across 80 to 90 servers.
As part of the deployment process, when the tool is installed, it gets auto-connected to the active directory from the fetch using a third-party pool; using other tools helps the administrator deploy faster.
Compared to the other solutions, Trend Micro ServerProtect is more affordable, and thus, it has contributed to the organization's ROI with cost savings. I am satisfied with the ROI the solution provides.
The product is available at a reasonable price. The product can probably be purchased for INR 800 per year.
At our company, we have evaluated Symantec and other competitor tools as well. We choose Trend Micro ServerProtect mainly because of its single console to control all applications and URL filtering.
I am satisfied with the malware detection capabilities of the solution. At our company, using the product we haven't found any incidents or threats that couldn't be easily resolved.
Most of the customers of Trend Micro ServerProtect in our organization belong to the Healthcare industry. I have witnessed smooth integrations with Trend Micro ServerProtect. I haven't yet noticed any AI capabilities in the product.
I would recommend others to adopt Trend Micro ServerProtect as it can be easily installed and managed. The product assists in administration. The solution is a perfect fit for the SMB segment. I would rate Trend Micro ServerProtect an eight out of ten.
Currently, we use it for end-point server protection in our hybrid environment. We have it installed on our infrastructure servers, and it helps improve server performance and provides antivirus capabilities.
Additionally, we utilize the big security feature for server environments, which is specifically designed for Java.
Basically, during nighttime operations, when data usage is high, Trend Micro CyberProtect ensures smooth and uninterrupted processing within our server environment. It has had a positive impact on our overall operations. We have been using this solution for several years now.
The most valuable aspect for me is the solution's ability to provide insightful information in real time. It helps us quickly address potential issues and provides us with valuable insights. I also appreciate the flexibility it offers, especially when it comes to onboarding new infrastructure. Given our easy operation, the agent deployment for Trend Micro is swift and efficient.
Once the servers are onboarded, which we completed this year, we will have full protection and monitoring activities in place.
There are a few areas of improvement. Despite its high performance, there are certain aspects related to the operating system that could be improved. Specifically, I find that the protection for certain actions requires more effort compared to other actions. It would be beneficial to streamline these processes.
We mainly want them to continue enhancing the existing system. Overall, I am satisfied with its functionality.
We also can consider pricing as an area for improvement. Maybe Trend Micro could have made it a bit cheaper.
I have been using this solution for more than eight years. I am using the latest version.
I would rate it an eight out of ten.
I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten. Approximately twelve to fifteen users are using this solution in our company. It is used on a 24/7 basis.
The customer service and support team has been pretty good. I have called them before. They have been very fast.
Neutral
We switched to Trend Micro ServerProtect because it is suitable for our hybrid environment and offers a more comprehensive feature set.
The initial setup was straightforward. I would rate it an eight. It is deployed on the cloud. It's a private cloud managed by the OEM.
The deployment took approximately six months. Around twenty-two people were involved in the deployment process.
I would rate it a seven. It's not a low price; it's more on the higher side. If you compare the performance with the cost, I would still be willing to pay the price. It's not that it doesn't justify the cost. I always prefer to have lower prices, but that's a subjective value.
There are no additional costs or expenses beyond the standard licensing fees.
It's not about what this solution can do. It's about providing value for your money, and I would recommend it to any organization that wants to stay protected.
Overall, I would rate the solution an eight out of ten. The solution offers valuable insights, and it has proven itself in different scenarios. So, you know, in our company, we have different branches and environments, but we haven't been affected. That's because we prioritize our clients and have a strong digital vision. So, yeah, we are pretty satisfied with the solution.
Regarding use cases for Trend Micro ServerProtect, the EDR and XDR use cases are now considered older, as most customers have already implemented those parts with Trend Micro and CrowdStrike.
Now, customers are looking for advanced tools such as Cloud Security Platforms and CASB solutions to protect data. The current Indian market is relatively dull concerning DLP, EDR, and endpoint security, so they focus on other security solutions because they have already purchased and implemented many things.
From my reseller and consultant perspective, the most beneficial aspects of Trend Micro ServerProtect are its user-friendly console, allowing anyone to configure policies easily, and the excellent support provided.
Trend Micro works based on a credit system with Trend Vision One, where if the customer scales up with a large number of endpoints, the credit will also increase, meaning they would need to pay more next time, but the licensing model is flexible, and there's no issue with that.
Concerning improvements for Trend Micro ServerProtect, I think the main issue is deployment; configuring the console should be easy for both standard and bulk deployment. They need to improve in this area by providing more documentation and custom scripts for bulk enterprise deployments.
As a consultant, I work with both CrowdStrike and Trend Micro ServerProtect. We've done many implementations with our customers, and the feedback differs based on the customer use case. Sometimes while deploying the agent on Linux using the Trend Micro ServerProtect solution, we are unable to properly install using that script.
Common feedback for both tools is that while using the MDM tool for bulk deployment, they do not provide custom scripts, and instead, we need to ask for support or create the script ourselves. We face these situations while deploying for enterprise companies because every company uses different MDM tools.
Even CrowdStrike and Trend Micro ServerProtect provide support for only a couple of MDM tools, such as JumpCloud or Windows MDM tools, so if a customer is using a different MDM tool, the default script won't work. These are the kinds of issues we face in the deployment part, but apart from that, the solution suits based on the customer pricing.
I rate technical support a nine.
Positive
I'm open to a follow-up call in a few days to discuss CrowdStrike for comparison.
I'm from PeerSpot and work as an Information Technology Security Engineer. From the Trend Micro ServerProtect perspective, we've deployed various solutions such as Trend Micro ScanMail and ServerProtect in servers, serverless environments, and everything else.
As a consultant, I work for a seven-year-old company that started in 2019. We do two services: product selling and partnering with OEMs, which we've been doing for the last four to five years.
For pricing, I rate it a ten, indicating it is very expensive. I'm aware of the AI integration but, having worked on other projects in the last five to six months, I don't know how the consoles look now.
I assess the final rating for the product as a nine, indicating it is a very good solution.

Probably more notification options. Notifications are not very good with Trend Micro. So, a bit more notification functionality needs improvement.
I have been using this solution for a year now. I am using the latest version.
It's stable.
Not for very large organizations but for small to medium-sized ones. Around 50 users are using ServerProtect.
It depends on the number of people in the organization, but two would be enough.
It's very straightforward. It probably took a few minutes, two or three minutes at most.
I did it myself. It was fairly straightforward. Just open the executable file, execute it, choose the desired location for saving it, and finally, reboot. However, the deployment depends on the organization's size. Two people would be sufficient for the deployment process. So, just one support staff and one manager.
It's a monthly license. It's fairly cheap compared to other solutions.
I almost used CrowdStrike and SentinelOne.
I would definitely recommend using the solution. I would rate it an eight out of ten.

I mainly use ServerProtect to protect servers from ransomware attacks.
ServerProtect's best feature is virtual patching, which takes care of patching even if your servers aren't updated with the latest threat definitions.
I've been using Trend Micro ServerProtect for almost fifteen years.
ServerProtect is stable.
ServerProtect is scalable.
Trend Micro's technical support is good.
Positive
The initial setup is straightforward.
The ROI is good.
The licensing is based on endpoints and number of years. There are no additional costs to pay.
I think ServerProtect is superior to any other brands, and I'd rate it eight out of ten.
We use Trend Micro ServerProtect for virtual patching. It also provides full security that is specific to the service, e.g. it is able to handle the VMs (virtual machines) way better.
What I find most valuable in Trend Micro ServerProtect is virtualization. It installs on the virtualization node instead of installing on all of the guests, and this means communication between the VMs on a specific host is also covered.
You don't need an agent for each of the VMs, e.g. you don't need to install it on each virtual node, because you can just install it on the host, and that is brilliant. Trend Micro ServerProtect protects all guests on the VMs, and it also protects against internal communication between the VMs.
Integration with different platforms could be an area for improvement in Trend Micro ServerProtect, e.g. it needs more integration. It could also be more secure and more stable.
In the next release, this solution should also include more EDR (endpoint detection and response) visibility, because a server is still an endpoint.
We've been providing Trend Micro ServerProtect for four to five years now.
Trend Micro ServerProtect is a stable solution.
I find Trend Micro ServerProtect to be a scalable solution.
I'm rating Trend Micro technical support a seven out of ten.
Neutral
The initial setup for this solution was fairly straightforward, though it can be a bit of a challenge for people to understand, because it is a new technology. Some people are used to what traditional antivirus would show them, so Trend Micro ServerProtect could take up more resources, e.g. there could be a learning curve.
We are on an annual subscription for Trend Micro ServerProtect, like other Trend Micro products, but Trend Micro also has MSP options for some of their partners.
Trend Micro ServerProtect can be deployed on-premises or on the cloud, or hybrid, e.g. however you want it. It's for service, so it's not a specialized cloud
product. Trend Micro has a cloud workload protection solution that is specialized for the native cloud: Cloud One, but in terms of this solution: Trend Micro ServerProtect, you can install it on-premises, or on the cloud, e.g. it's a "bring your license" type of solution.
My expectation in the next five years is that Trend Micro ServerProtect will be EOL (end-of-life), and what will remain is their cloud workload protection solution (Cloud One).
We only have three clients who are using this solution, at this stage.
I'm definitely recommending Trend Micro ServerProtect to others who may want to start implementing it, especially in a virtualization environment.
I'm giving Trend Micro ServerProtect a rating of six out of ten. I don't give anything a ten. I will never give a product a score of ten, unless it's the perfect product that'll never be hacked. A score of six sounds low, but it's not low, because there is no ten for me.
I've talked about my use case in the other reviews for Apex One and Apex Central.
Performance is very good.
One thing I have been facing is that some fake threats have appeared that even Trend Micro was not able to clear up. It couldn't tell you why these threats are happening, where they are coming from and what cause it to occur.
For the past three years, I have been working exclusively with Trend Micro.
Scalability is good. I would say eight out of 10.
