Installs easily, is reliable, and is easy to use
Pros and Cons

What is most valuable?

Windows 10 is very good.

They build a lot on the stages, which has helped in making Windows 11 an improved version.

It is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

The security should be increased. More people are using Windows 10, which makes it more vulnerable. With more people using it makes you prone to attacks. It has to be updated frequently, along with the market trends.

Frequent updates can be frustrating.

The technical support should be more feasible, and more viable. Their work strategy needs to be changed.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for four years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Windows 10 is stable, unlike Windows 7, the previous version.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Everyone in the organization is using this solution. Some also have it installed on their personal laptops for personal use. We even have situations where it is installed on a Mac.

How are customer service and support?

It is difficult to approach them to get a solution.

We don't have a dedicated technician who is connecting to us or to address any issues we are experiencing.

You can try to call, and it just rings, or we connect to some local corner in the world to tell our story and what we need from them before we can get a solution.

This is an issue that we have with Microsoft.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I am using Windows 11.

As a technical team, we use many solutions in several different environments.
For example, testing environments, and virtual environments.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is feasible. In terms of the installation, it is straightforward, they have improved the installation process quite a bit.

It can take 15 to 20 minutes to deploy.

We don't require anyone to maintain the solution, we push it through an SCCM. They get connected to the LAN network.

What about the implementation team?

I was able to complete the installation myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We pay Microsoft a yearly license fee. Our payments are made through the portal.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in using this solution.

I would rate Windows 10 a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Easy to use with a familiar user interface and good stability
Pros and Cons
  • "I've got a good level of familiarity with it. The user interface is intuitive."
  • "Like all Windows products or like all the Microsoft products, like Office, it's priced a bit on the higher side."

What is our primary use case?

I'm primarily using the solution for running my personal applications. I use it on my laptop and my applications run off of Windows 10.

What is most valuable?

It's like any Windows version. You can run whatever programs you need on it.

It's easy to use. Everybody knows Windows. I've got a good level of familiarity with it. The user interface is intuitive.

The solution is stable. I've found the scalability to be good.

What needs improvement?

I do not recall coming across any missing features. Just like any other Windows product, it's great. I can't think of anything else to add.

Like all Windows products or like all the Microsoft products, like Office, it's priced a bit on the higher side.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for five years at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability of the product is very good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability of the solution is very good. If a person needs to expand it, it can.

Right now, I'm only using the solution myself for personal usage.

How are customer service and technical support?

I've never contacted technical support. I cannot speak to how helpful or responsive they might be.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I've only ever used Windows. I did not previously use a different solution.

How was the initial setup?

I didn't have to install it at all. It came pre-installed on my laptop. Therefore, I cannot speak to the installation process and if it is difficult or simple.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Windows is pretty expensive. They could work to price it lower.

I have a lifetime license. You purchase it once and you don't have to think about it again.

What other advice do I have?

Straightforward to set up and works well with Microsoft Office but has too many updates
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution scales well."
  • "If they could avoid the constant bombarding of the updates, which happens, that would be appreciated."

What is our primary use case?

I primarily use the solution for work purposes.

What is most valuable?

In terms of my company, it's giving me a Windows laptop, so that is why I'm using it. I can say that Microsoft Office works really well in Windows rather than on any other OS.

Many people are using Windows 10. There wouldn't be much if any compatibility issues when you have to share any information.

You can actually mirror your phones on Windows, without installing meaning third-party applications, which I really liked.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward.

The solution scales well.

Technical support seem to be helpful.

What needs improvement?

I generally have a better user experience using macOS than Windows.

I could actually see a lot of bugs and glitches. The performance of Windows is not that great.

They could optimize the OS for all devices.

If they could avoid the constant bombarding of the updates, which happens, that would be appreciated.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The stability isn't ideal. There are bugs and glitches. I've seen performance issues. This, of course, is in comparison to Mac, which is largely problem-free.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is pretty good, actually. When it comes to the enterprise solutions that Windows offers, scalability is never an issue.

We have around 250 people on the solution right now.

We do have plans to increase usage. We may end up doubling it.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't used Microsoft support directly, however, in terms of the people who are setting it up in my company, they are good with the support on offer and are satisfied with the service they get. They will get back to you with an answer.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We've always used Windows. We did not use anything else previously.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is pretty easy as people know the system and are comfortable with Windows - especially when it comes to server management. And whenever they want to control any other appliances, Windows is the way to go.

That said, I'm not sure how long the deployment process actually took.

In my company, likely three people were involved with the initial setup. They also handle maintenance.

What was our ROI?

There is an ROI in terms of being able to upgrade. You can upgrade your hardware or the solution every five years or so.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I would not say it's expensive. It has an extensive range of options. If you're just looking at the OS perspective, there is no comparison.

You don't know how much does a macOS costs you, as it comes with the hardware. I would say that, with the performance that Windows delivers, it's not justifiable that Windows is charging the money they do. That said, I would say that it is not expensive.

There might be a Windows setup fee when you buy the license, however, I am not 100% certain this is the case.

What other advice do I have?

Our company uses the product. I am just an end-user.

I'm pretty neutral in terms of recommending it to anyone. There are pros and cons.

I'd rate the solution at a six out of ten.

GUI has been greatly enhanced and it has the single click advantage
Pros and Cons
  • "The GUI has been enhanced and it supports the 365 suite."
  • "Lack of alerts when there are issues with connectivity or power surges."

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case of Windows 10 is for any type of office work - emails, remote connectivity, document management, storage and the like. I'm an associate partner.

What is most valuable?

From a user standpoint, the GUI has been enhanced as well as some add-ons with respect to news, forecasts, GPS. I think overall there are some good features and it has the single click advantage. Also, the entire integration supports the 365 Suite.

What needs improvement?

I'd like to see some sort of technical notification service reminder regarding hardware health. It's a feature that could help because I get quite a lot of Microsoft Office crashes. It asks whether you want to report them and then the notification disappears into thin air. I also think that task manager needs to be a little more graphical in nature, with more user analytics and I'd also like to know usages so I can run an operating system sometimes, multitasking, things like that. There are sometimes connectivity issues when there is any sort of power fluctuation with the adapter or from the main, and I think that area needs improvement. If there are power surges, or the adapter is not able to send the required power to the BIOS, there should be alerts. The other big one for me is integration with the hardware so that, for example, a user can know if there's a problem of dead pixels on the screen, some sort of predictive analytics on that front would be helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using this solution for about three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable despite some crashes that I've experienced. On the whole it's performance has improved and optimization-wise, the issues are not generally visible to the end user.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

They've done a good job from a scalability perspective because if you look at the different systems that are enabled, the operating system does a good job.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend this solution, it's been tried and tested over years and I am very comfortable with it. At the end of the day, it's about affordability, and Microsoft OS stands out from that perspective.

I rate the solution eight out of 10.
