The initial setup is simple.

The solution has the potential to scale.

What needs improvement?

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable and the performance is good. There are no bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's a reliable operating system. It's much more stable than the older version.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable, and, if a company needs to expand it, it can do so.

How are customer service and support?

I might not have encountered cases where I needed to contact any technical teams. I was able to solve a few of the problems simply by looking them up on Google. Therefore, I can't speak to how helpful or responsive their services are.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is pretty straightforward. The process is complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We would prefer if Microsoft's pricing was a bit less.

We only pay for the license. We don't have to pay extra for ancillary services, technical support, or features.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate the solution at a nine out of ten. I haven't given it a perfect mark as there is always room for some form of improvement, even on solutions that work quite well.

I'd recommend it to other users and companies.

With Windows 10, we can perform in-place updates. We are capable of handling compliance management and we can apply a patch software distribution.

What is most valuable?

I like that I can patch and campaign software distribution.

The performance is good.

I haven't found that it needs any improvements. We are able to patch all of our machines. We haven't had any issues with this operating system.

What needs improvement?

The interface could be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for five or six years.

I am using the 2019 Windows Operating system. We are using the latest version.

It can be deployed both on-premises and in the cloud.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Windows 10 is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is common with all products. Windows 10 is a very scalable product.

Most of the users in our organization use Linux.

We have plans to increase our usage.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is good. They are available 24/7.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I am also using Linux as well as Red Hat, which is a requirement of the organization. We haven't switched.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy.

The installation process is quick. We install the agent in the machines, in five minutes. It does not require a lot of time.

This solution will be maintained by two to three admins, not that much.

What about the implementation team?

I was able to complete the installation myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

There are no additional costs.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others who are thinking of using it.

Easy to use, stable and scalable
Pros and Cons
  • "We are satisfied with this operating system."
  • "Windows 10 consumes a lot of RAM, which is inconvenient."

What is our primary use case?

We use Windows 10 as our operating system.

We primarily use it to run Microsoft Office and collaborate with various Microsoft apps. Specifically, Outlook and Teams.

What is most valuable?

For the productivity suite, Microsoft Office is what we use.

We are satisfied with this operating system.

It is easy to use.

What needs improvement?

Windows 10 consumes a lot of RAM, which is inconvenient. Your machine will be slower if your device is underpowered and you have to open five or six different apps. With Windows 10, this is a challenge.

If Windows is able to allocate RAM judiciously in those scenarios, you can continue to work with multiple windows open without experiencing any slowdown. This is one area that needs to be improved.

The RAM is a persistent issue with Windows 10. It slows the system down.

For how long have I used the solution?

I'm not sure when Windows 10 was first implemented at the company, but I started in April and have been using it ever since.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Most of the time it is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Windows 10 is a scalable product.

I am working in a large enterprise. We have more than 5,000 users.

How are customer service and support?

I have not personally contacted technical support. If there are some issues, I send the request to the IT department. They make the necessary improvements for the changes.

My experience has been good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Outlook.

I personally do not use the Microsft Authenticator to connect to the VPN, but others are using it.

How was the initial setup?

I was not involved with the setup of Windows 10, it is done by our IT department.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this system to others who are interested in using it.

I would rate, Windows 10 an eight out of ten.

Performs well, easy to use, but too much preloaded information
Pros and Cons
  • "I have found Windows 10 much better than the previous versions. It performs well, is easy to use, and is easy to use for new users."
  • "There is a lot of preloaded information on Windows 10, that impacts the memory position."

What is our primary use case?

I'm not using the server version, I'm using the desktop edition on my laptop for running personal applications.

What is most valuable?

I have found Windows 10 much better than the previous versions. It performs well, is easy to use, and is easy to use for new users.

What needs improvement?

There is a lot of preloaded information on Windows 10, that impacts the memory position.

The security should improve because there are a lot of packets that have to be delivered, and that will take time to install.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Microsoft Windows solutions for 20 years and I have been using Windows 10 since it was released.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable. however, it could be better.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We have approximately 1,000 users in my organization that use this solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have not had direct support from Microsoft but I have used our IT support in my organization.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used Mac OS.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is straightforward and does not take a lot of time.

What about the implementation team?

The updates are done automatically in the background, you do not need to touch anything.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend this solution to others. It is good for users that have not used Linux, unit commands operating systems or Mac systems.

I rate Windows 10 a seven out of ten.

A stable, scalable and easily installable solution which boasts good performance and easy use
Pros and Cons
  • "I like the stability, the performance and the ease of use."
  • "It would be nice to have more integration with other platforms, something which is always welcome."

What is our primary use case?

We use Windows 10 for our personal applications.

What is most valuable?

I like the stability, the performance and the ease of use. We have not had any problems with the solution.

What needs improvement?

It would be nice to have more integration with other platforms, something which is always welcome.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is quite stable, a feature which I like.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

We have not contacted technical support, although we are entitled to premium support when needed.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

With most of our users we use Windows 10. When it comes to some of the older versions, we go with Windows Symantec.

How was the initial setup?

The installation is quite straightforward.

I do not know how long it took.

What about the implementation team?

I believe that the technical team involved in the installation consists of a large number when one accounts for the developers.

Perhaps an additional 20 or 25 people are required for the deployment. This obviously depends on innumerable factors, such as the number of end users or servers involved or how many instances of the operating system are running.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price could possibly be improved, although I cannot know this for certain.

I do not know the specifics of the licensing terms, as we are talking about an enterprise arrangement of which I am not involved.

While I have not contacted technical support, we are entitled to premium support when needed.

What other advice do I have?

The solution is fine as is. I do not see shortcomings in it.

Windows PATH has been used exclusively.

I rate Windows 10 as a nine out of ten.

Good enough, but update stability needs improvement
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is that it's a good enough operating system for anyone who isn't technically proficient."
  • "This solution is good enough, but Windows is always playing catch-up when it comes to development. An improvement I would like to see is in Windows updates. They don't seem to test the updates."

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case of Windows 10 is for personal use. I don't run anything business-related on Windows. I use it from time-to-time and it's deployed on-premises. I use it a couple of times a year, whenever I occasionally need to do small tasks, like copy files that only Windows has access to.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is that it's a good enough operating system for anyone who isn't technically proficient.

What needs improvement?

This solution is good enough, but Windows is always playing catch-up when it comes to development. For instance, Docker containers is technology that was introduced with Linux and they just decided that it was usable. The primary reason why I rarely use Windows is that it's not interesting from a development perspective.

An improvement I would like to see is in Windows updates. They don't seem to test the updates. My wife uses Windows as well and after the update, her computer was no longer usable. It was what we call the "blue screen of death." It had to be erased and started up from scratch, which was a nightmare. It seems that they aren't testing their updates anymore, they're just pushing them, and they're not propagating the updates to everybody. They're propagating to a specific, small portion of people. Only after do they check if everything is okay. If there's no bad feedback, then they increase the scope, release the updates to the wider public, and so on. Windows is a paid operating system, so this is not normal and not okay. I would expect this from open source technologies, but even these are better. We are using the open source version of Ubuntu, which is free, and it's still way better than the updates for Microsoft operating systems. I have only worked with the desktop version of Windows 10, so I don't know how things work for the server operating systems, but at least for the common user of Windows 10, it's a nightmare.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is stable, but updates affect this too. The operating system is stable until an update causes everything to crash. This happens more often that not, I would say. My wife has had two issues with this. On two separate occasions, her computer has crashed just because of the updates. Every time her computer restarts because of an update that needs to be installed, she is afraid that her computer will stop working.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I'm not sure because I am the only one who uses Windows, and even then it's on very rare occasions.

How are customer service and support?

I have never dealt with Microsoft technical support.

How was the initial setup?

I haven't installed Windows myself. My wife says that Windows was already installed and licensed along with the machine that she purchased.

What about the implementation team?

I implemented through a vendor team. Windows 10 came with the laptop my wife purchased.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Our Windows 10 license was purchased with a laptop.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I also use the open source version of Ubuntu Linux, which is free and still runs better than Windows 10. If you are technically proficient, I recommend going with Ubuntu Linux. If not, go with Windows.

For cloud-based software, I use G Suite Enterprise. I use this software to communicate with customers who need to record videos and other things like that, and I prefer it over Zoom.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate Windows 10 a five out of ten, primarily because the updates for the desktop version are a nightmare and need improvement. I recommend Windows to anybody who isn't technically proficient. Otherwise, go with Ubuntu Linux.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Has a user-friendly interface
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is how friendly the interface is. I expect that we will soon go up to Windows 11 because it's already available."
  • "Windows 10 could be improved by implementing synchronization between Teams and Skype for Business. If you're in a conference call in one tool, the other tool shows that you're available. This means that you get calls from other people in your organization while you are unavailable. So synchronization is missing, that's all."

What is our primary use case?

My primary use case is for daily office work. I use the full Microsoft 365 suite with Outlook, PowerPoint, all those tools. We have fully implemented Microsoft and don't use any third-party applications. Outlook is the main mail application, Teams and Lync are for communication, Word and PowerPoint are for editing, preparing documents, and presentation.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is how friendly the interface is. I expect that we will soon go up to Windows 11 because it's already available.

What needs improvement?

Windows 10 could be improved by implementing synchronization between Teams and Skype for Business. If you're in a conference call in one tool, the other tool shows that you're available. This means that you get calls from other people in your organization while you are unavailable. So synchronization is missing, that's all.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Windows 10 for a few years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

I have never contacted technical support. If I have a problem, I contact my IT department and they are the ones who contact Microsoft, but they know how to solve most problems.

How was the initial setup?

The installation was very easy. I received a link from our IT department, clicked the link, and within a few minutes everything was up and running. You can do it yourself.

What about the implementation team?

I implemented myself.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I'm unsure of cost or licensing because our IT department handles that.

What other advice do I have?

Even though Microsoft won't need my recommendation because Windows is such a popular tool, I recommend this to anyone who is looking into implementing this solution.

There are about 500 people in my organization using this solution. There is no team necessary for deployment and you spend almost no time on maintenance compared to the duration of time that you are using Windows. It's very simple.

I would rate Windows 10 a ten out of ten. It's a perfect tool and the cost is very reasonable.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
