Our primary use case for Xref is reference checking.
What is our primary use case?
How has it helped my organization?
Xref has helped us improve our turnaround times. It is often quicker than playing phone tag, which happens a lot when you're doing reference check. Anyone that has done them before knows that they can turn into weeks of playing phone tag. This tool eliminates all of that and allows the referee more flexibility. Referees can decide who gets to see their reference, which is great from a security perspective.
What is most valuable?
The Xref feature I find the most valuable is probably the fact that it does the security check to make sure that the references are not dodgy. It's got security settings in the backend that flag suspicious activity straight away. Most referencing systems are just automated emails that go to somebody that's nominated by the potential employee. Anybody could be the owner of those email addresses; it could be their mom or brother. There are no security checks in place with other systems.
What needs improvement?
It would be great to have a defense industry security check option. To be compliant, we have to have a different tool for that.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We haven't come across any problems.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
My impression of Xref is that it is scalable. We've got about 700 rolls in the next two years coming into the business, which will probably entail about 1,400 reference checks. I don't see it being an issue at all, it's pretty straightforward.
How are customer service and technical support?
The tech support is always responsive. We've never had any drama from their side.
How was the initial setup?
The initial setup was pretty straightforward.
What about the implementation team?
I implemented the solution myself, in conjunction with the supply by side. I do all the HR systems across the business. I do everything from strategic workforce planning, onboarding, recruitment tools, portals, payroll, and making sure that the configuration and integration is set up correctly so that the data flows to the relevant systems. You can implement the solution in 48 hours.
What was our ROI?
In the terms of reference checks, it shortens that whole process, which in turn gets you to offer the best candidate before they get offered somewhere else. That's a massive ROI for us.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
As far as pricing goes, you can either buy packs on reference checks or subscribe per month. The pricing could always be better.
What other advice do I have?
It is very plugin and play, it's not like you need to do too much. There's not much that can go wrong; there's not many customizable fields that you need in a reference check other than the question. So you can have standard questions that are built into the system and they help with that, which is great. Or you can customize it yourself.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Public Cloud
