BigCommerce is an eCommerce platform that best serves mid-market to up-market eCommerce merchants. The product is extremely robust, has very robust APIs, and offers a very fast infrastructure.

BigCommerce is also great for launching new online stores, but it is best suited for existing merchants that need a platform that performs better.

BigCommerce makes it easy to access product data and the designs are fully responsive.

The checkout process is very robust and easy for customers to use.

The best feature for online merchants is their wholesale interface for B2B customers.

BigCommerce has increased sales for almost every merchant that has moved from another eCommerce platform. They have excellent support, as well. I do not have one customer in my organization that regrets moving to BigCommerce from other eCommerce platforms.

BigCommerce is a solution that works for a majority of our clients and it has helped many grow their companies even larger.

BigCommerce has an excellent B2B interface, which gives merchants the ability to sell with different price books and the ability to segment clients.

Technical support is the most valuable feature. Many eCommerce platforms do not have a good support infrastructure. BigCommerce does an amazing job of supporting its product.

BigCommerce also has a design capability for merchants to use widgets to change page layouts. This is very useful because merchants can make design edits and not need to contact their developers.

The user interface is very fast and they use a CDN for website delivery, which helps merchants sell more because the websites are fast-loading.

There is very little that needs to be improved, as BigCommerce is very proactive and is continuously releasing new updates. They are very effective at modernizing their product, but since no product is perfect and can always improve, a few things that I think BigCommerce could do better is to create a better reporting module for merchants.

There are apps available that help with this in their app store, but it would be nice to have this built-in for things such as running reports for sales tax reporting.

The theme editor that was recently added is wonderful, but it not totally intuitive.

I have been working with BigCommerce since 2015.

BigCommerce is extremely stable.

This solution is extremely scalable with robust API capabilities.  BigCommerce has 98% of their platform available via API access while they maintain all the other cost benefits of being a true SaaS provider.  All the major resources (Customers, Orders, Catalog) are open and extensible via API and what they call metafields. BigCommerce plays very strongly with merchants that have complex or bespoke back end systems that need to be integrated into the ecommerce platform for this reason.  They also have a GraphQL endpoint which can be used for more real-time data delivery.

BigCommerce supports the product very well and they are superior in this space.

We have used Yahoo Store, Magento, and Shopify. It is easier for merchants to grow on BigCommerce.

The setup process is well supported by the vendor.

We are a vendor who does assist with implementation.

BigCommerce does compete viably with Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce, and 3dcart (Shift4Shop). One of these other platforms may be the right one for your business, as it is very dependent on what you are doing and what you are selling.

BigCommerce is a well-run organization with excellent customer support.
