We use Epic Electronic Health Records for electronic health record at federally qualified health centers.
I use Epic Electronic Health Records' patient portal. The patient portal allows the patients to go in and look at their information where the provider posts it, making it definite ease of use.
It depends on the clinic, but the analytics in Epic Electronic Health Records allows them to adjust operations on the fly because of the live data.
What is most valuable?
The ability to get claims resolved quickly and get the cash flow, maintain cash flow current as fast as possible is a huge benefit.
You don't have to do your analytics in one tool, your billing in another tool, your patients in another tool; it just keeps the integration very solid.
It's deployed in the cloud.
It is definitely easily scalable; it can go from a small hundred-seat clinic to multiple thousand users without any problem; it's very expandable.
It is very stable; that's another plus for it.
What needs improvement?
Cost is a significant area for improvement with this tool.

The one I have the most experience with is ServiceDesk Plus and then Endpoint Central.
How was the initial setup?
It is complicated to set up, with six months being the standard deployment time.
What about the implementation team?
We require a whole team for deploying Epic Electronic Health Records; we have a whole team that does that.
It can lead to hundreds of people between the clinic and us.
What was our ROI?
On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate Epic Electronic Health Records as the industry standard.

Because we have our own instance of Epic Electronic Health Records at Health Choice Network, I don't have specifics on the cost.
