| Senior Project Manager Varna Information Technology / Owner at Varna Informationstechnology EOOD | 3.5 | I use Fujitsu to run VM clusters with its valuable DX series and all-flash storage. However, I believe the classical storage systems will become obsolete, and improvements are needed in pricing. SaaS storage tools offer easier management. |
| IT Manager at Synergy Computers | 3.5 | Fujitsu offers cost-effective SAN and NAS storage solutions with high reliability and competitive pricing. While lacking a truly unified platform compared to NetApp, it suits users prioritizing affordability and dependability. ROI varies based on the solution deployed. |

I use the solution in my company to run the VM clusters with Fujitsu's database, as well as everything else we have in our company.
The solution's most valuable features stem from the DX series and the all-flash storage system. Since NetApp bought LSI storage, you have to go somewhere else to get some other product.
In terms of Fujitsu, the classical storage systems are going to be obsolete in my point of view. With SaaS storage tools, you have everything in software, and you have big advantages and more easy management.
The product's prices are an area of concern where improvements are required.
I have been using Fujitsu for more than five years.
Considering my company's use cases, I can say that it is a scalable solution.
My company has around 2,000 users of the product who use it on a daily basis.
The product's tech support is barely used because it is mostly running properly.
For the product's deployment phase, you just need to put it into the rack, power it up, configure it, and run it.
The solution is deployed on an on-premises model.
My company's in-house team can manage the installation of the product.
There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing charges associated with the product.
The question you have to ask yourself these days would be whether you need classical SAN storage or do you want to go with a modern approach like SaaS-based storage. If you want classical storage, Fujitsu is still a good product. If you want to be safer and work with off the shelf hardware, then go with NetApp. Don't pay the markup price charged by big storage vendors.
My company has not faced any issues with the product's integration capabilities.
The tool is basically used as a block device, so it's quite easy and simple at what it does.
I rate the tool a seven out of ten.

Fujitsu has been involved in developing storage solutions for a significant period. Fujitsu provides both SAN and NAS storage solutions within its portfolio. They also incorporate NetApp Storage solutions as they do not have True Unified Storage solutions in their portfolio. Fujitsu’s Storage solutions are highly cost-effective options compared to other market players.
The primary uses-case of Fujitsu Storage that I will recommend is where you need top-class product reliability with a competitive price.
As we are a FTS (Fujitsu Technology Solutions) reseller; we have experienced positive feedback from our customers using the Fujitsu products we sold to them. We will strongly recommend others buy Fujitsu storage solutions to get the core benefit of these products. FTS offers very cost-effective solutions with far better reliability than others. Furthermore, they have full solutions for almost all customer's use cases. The customers can reduce their purchase cycle and cut down TCO with far better ROI.
Fujitsu offers competitive pricing. Fujitsu’s features are almost similar to other solutions. There is no standalone storage feature that is unique to Fujitsu. However, Fujitsu offers a cost-effective solution with better reliability. Fujitsu is a renowned brand with a strong reputation for providing SAN storage; also providing NVMe storage with extreme performance and unmatched reliability.
This is also true for their other products, Servers, Server-workstations, Desktops, Graphical Desktops, etc. The mean time between failures (MTBF) is very high in almost all Fujitsu Products to get top-class product reliability.
(The Mean time between failures (MTBF) describes the expected time between two failures for a repairable system.)
Some feature needs improvement. NetApp offers many features, while Fujitsu lacks a unified platform. Fujitsu does have all the NetApp storage solutions in their portfolio. While Fujitsu claims to have a unified system in its documentation, it is not truly unified. If a customer is planning to buy Unified NAS storage, then I will recommend NetApp.
There is no unified NAS options in Fujitsu; they have a NAS&SAN option in their storage portfolio but the customer has to make that choice before buying it.
We are a Fujitsu partner and have been selling the solution to our customers since 2009.
Theses storage systems are highly stable and reliable.
Fujitsu's storage can be configured for small to large organizations, so the solution's scalability is not an issue.
The technical support changes from country to country. It also depends on the availability within the country.
The overall support response time is very good.
Neutral
Not exactly, most customers using Fujitsu Storage either upgrade it or in some cases tech-refresh.
The initial setup is straightforward and simpler than others.
We deployed the solutions as a Fujitsu partner.
It depends on the solution; the better ROI can be achieved.
It's very simple to deploy. Add-on licensing of deduplication, and remote replication are on the expensive side. Most other vendors offer almost the same.
The solution was made considering the customer's requirements, Fujitsu storage solutions are offered/sold by us to our customers who need a product that never fails, keeps running all the time, and fits in their budget too.
The NVMe storage solutions are extremely powerful and efficient but are expensive. These solutions are suited for artificial intelligence, large-scale government organizations, or enterprise service providers catering to millions of users. The NVMe storage solution depends on the specific customer’s requirements, use case, and challenges. If the business demands align with the capabilities of the NVMe storage, then Fujitsu's solution would be a better and cost-effective choice in the SAN environment.
However, for NAS and SAN(Unified) storage requirements, NetApp would be the best with unmatched performance.
In unified storage, my preference leans towards NetApp, owing to its distinct advantages over other solutions in the market.

We offer services related to Fujitsu, including storage systems, antivirus solutions, and maintenance services. The primary motivation behind our partnership is cost-effectiveness. It provides storage solutions that offer an attractive balance of affordability, and allow us to consolidate both block storage and file storage, catering to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses, which make up the majority of our clientele.
It stands out for its affordability and the ability to provide unified storage.
The graphical interface is somewhat lacking, and it doesn't cover all the necessary tasks, often requiring users to resort to the command line for completion. They did not invest significantly in updating the design and functionality of their graphical interface, giving it a somewhat outdated appearance and functionality, resembling technology from two decades ago.
We have been working with it for over fifteen years.
When we come across bugs or other problems, Fujitsu provides comprehensive guidelines for upgrading specific components or fixing the issues. This strategy has proven to be stable and reliable. We manage numerous smaller installations across various sites, and we haven't encountered any issues related to data availability or data loss, demonstrating the effectiveness of these procedures.
In our experience, we have not needed to extend the storage beyond its initial configuration.
We haven't faced significant problems with this type of storage. However, it's worth noting that Fujitsu's support primarily originates from Germany, which generally bodes well.
The initial setup is straightforward and quite convenient. It doesn't demand an extensive knowledge base or complex installation procedures. We benefit from excellent support materials available through the partner site, making it an appropriate and easily manageable process. Over the past two decades, we've had numerous successful implementations of this storage type, and it's notable that it's not resource-intensive in terms of personnel required for installation and maintenance.
The installation process for a small implementation involving a couple of servers typically takes one to two weeks at most. This is because the setup is relatively simple, and it doesn't fall under the category of enterprise or complex storage solutions.
The entry-level midrange model from Fujitsu is cost-effective for our target market. We acquire licenses and capacity for our required applications and features at the outset. Initially, these charges do not include an extended warranty or support for these features, but if we wish to extend the warranty or require support for features like replication or verification, we must also extend the warranty for those specific features.
For small companies or those with modest performance requirements, Fujitsu storage is an ideal choice. It offers the advantage of affordable extended warranties and doesn't pose any significant issues, even in less-than-ideal conditions like a cramped office space with basic air conditioning. Overall, I would rate it eight out of ten.
