What is our primary use case?
I work with a company that deals with safety and we normally have clients. We send our field teams to go and do inspections. They come with a lot of forms, a lot of checklists, and reports from different sites. Instead of manually typing all that information on inspection forms and checklists, we scan and upload it into KODAK Info Input Solution.
KODAK Info Input Solution automatically extracts our details. For example, it extracts client name, inspection date, risk level, and if they inspected the condition of equipment, it can also extract that. After extraction, we send that data to a database.
Before the data goes to the database, someone has to approve it. They check, organize the data, and verify any small errors. Then after approval, we can send it to storage or generate reports.
What is most valuable?
I like many aspects of KODAK Info Input Solution. For example, it saves our time on paperwork, which is how we were doing it initially. We are also reducing human errors. If you are typing in manually, you can misspell a wrong date or miss some fields, and KODAK helps with that.
Another feature I like about it is one that was introduced about three months back. If you upload something and your data connection is weak or not on, KODAK Info Input Solution can store your documents temporarily within 24 hours. When you restore your internet connection, your documents are uploaded again.
We do use the extraction feature because the whole idea is about that. You scan, and after scanning, KODAK Info Input Solution extracts the data from your form or documents. It takes characters and everything, then converts them into a form format. We also use a feature that appears to be integrated with AI that can summarize what you have scanned.
What needs improvement?
One area of KODAK Info Input Solution that I would like to see improved or enhanced in the future is support, especially sales support. Technical support is adequate. For example, when we were negotiating about the pricing of the solution, the sales support was interested more in us buying the plan, but they were not explaining what the benefits of this solution are or how it is going to help us. The focus was specifically on buying the plan, which I saw was not good.
Another thing is about the interface. The interface should be improved. It looks a little bit outdated compared to other modern SaaS platforms. If they can improve on the UI and interface, that would be helpful.
To be honest, what we purchased KODAK Info Input Solution for is executing our plan. I don't think I'm not aware about that. Maybe other features should be included, but the features we currently have in KODAK Info Input Solution help execute our plan. If they can improve on analytics, that would be great. The AI summary can tell you what you have, but analytics are not adequate. As I mentioned before, we have to export our data to another third-party tool, Tableau, to analyze our data.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using KODAK Info Input Solution for around nine months.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
We haven't had any crashes, downtimes, or performance issues with KODAK Info Input Solution. For these past nine months, we haven't had any downtime. I observed that as long as you properly set it up at first, do your workflows, and set up your database correctly, you should not get any downtime.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
I find KODAK Info Input Solution scalable because we have what I can call seasons or peak times where we receive many documents. We can receive many documents today and tomorrow we might not. But even though we receive many documents, KODAK Info Input Solution can process all those documents and extract all those documents. In terms of scalability, I can give it a 10 out of 10.
How are customer service and support?
For the technical support team of KODAK Info Input Solution, I can give it a nine, but for the sales team, I give it a six.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
We were using manual paperwork and also Microsoft Acrobat prior to adopting KODAK Info Input Solution.
How was the initial setup?
We started with the client side for KODAK Info Input Solution. We installed it and configured the application on the end user machine. Then we moved to the server side in the cloud. We did implementation and workflow execution, then we set up data extraction rules.
After, we did a database setup. We structured how extracted information will be stored, for example, how compliance data, client inspection records, and historical reports will be organized. This is the data we get from our clients. After that, we tested it using real data. We never tested with demo data. We tested with actual data. After testing, we started deployment and our staff started using it.
What about the implementation team?
The deployment of KODAK Info Input Solution was done by an internal team, including me.
KODAK Info Input Solution was recommended by our partners. When they visited our site and workplace, they suggested that we were wasting time on manual paperwork and that we could use this software called KODAK Info Input Solution to extract data automatically.
What was our ROI?
The return on investment with KODAK Info Input Solution is excellent. I can give it a nine or 10 because it has helped us so much. We pay $4,800 annually, but in return, it saves a lot of our time.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
KODAK Info Input Solution starts from implementation, depending on where you are going to implement it. For us, we implemented it on cloud. We are paying $4,800 including server cost and licensing cost.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
I did not buy KODAK Info Input Solution through the AWS Marketplace. I bought KODAK Info Input Solution directly.
What other advice do I have?
Data processing efficiency is something we evaluate. After extracting our data and storing it, we have a software called Tableau. We export database tables and push them to Tableau for analysis. KODAK Info Input Solution is not used for generating analytics and other data analysis tasks. We use Tableau for that purpose. We export data from the database and push it to Tableau for analysis.
I can give two pieces of advice regarding KODAK Info Input Solution. First, they should train their staff because KODAK Info Input Solution is simple to use, but it has a little bit of an outdated interface. You should train your staff on how to use it if you want to maximize it well. Second, at first, you should test using real data instead of demo data. Testing with real data shows how it works and whether it will execute your ideas. For example, if you are receiving handwritten documents, can it scan and extract data?
To be honest, the deployment of KODAK Info Input Solution was not easy. It took around more than a week, approximately nine days, and we are three people. It is a complex process.
We use AWS as the cloud provider for KODAK Info Input Solution. I would rate this review overall as an 8.
