Lenovo XClarity Controller Reviews

The customer has given me this configuration and is asking for the price of the server along with this configuration. They did not mention what kind of requirement they have. They just shared this with me and told me how to get this service.

The Lenovo configuration tool helps us with the computation of the RAID Controller and the installation of the operating system. If we encounter any sort of issue, we can troubleshoot the problem with the assistance of the Lenovo technical team. 

Sometimes, we do not receive complaints from the controller. We also receive software issue resolutions by managing the process with the assistance of the Lenovo technical team.

Sometimes we do not receive the complaint from the Controller. However, software issues are managed and processed with the help of the Lenovo technical team, and they sort them out.

Yes, I have worked with the Lenovo configuration tool for a period, yet not 100% of the time.

We have never received any issue related to the Lenovo configuration tool.

We have consistently had an excellent experience with Lenovo Support. We just log the ticket on the portal, and they respond within two hours. 

They provide one of the best supports with various categories, including next-business-day, foundation support, and essential support. They offer on-site support and remote support.

I would rate Lenovo XClarity Controller ten out of ten.

It's used to manage the OS on the servers, which are Windows Server 2016 and 2019. 

We also use it for storage, with 3 to 6 TB of space, and for software deployment from our business solutions. 

We provide servers with our software and configuration to customers, ensuring 24/7 operation.

We used the server to manage the server OS. 

For server management, we just do the OS installation, the storage, and the partitioning. 

It was used for a database server, so we used Microsoft SQL Server to host the database.

It was a standard rack server. The features of the rack server included storage and network connectivity. That's it.

The remote management capability was also good. We used the on-site servers, and we provided remote support without any problems.

For the betterment of the server, I'm not sure, but it worked very slowly. It was not well on performance. So, that could be improved. 

There was no issue or problem with the software. In the beginning, there was a lack of knowledge, but it was good and handy because once we understood it, it was easy to manage and take care by ourselves.

I have been using it for seven years. 

I would rate the stability a nine out of ten. 

The scalability was also good. We used very little storage, and we were able to upgrade and scale up in some cases. It was good and easy in terms of configuration. 

We don't have any direct users, but there are several end users. We have modules for public use.

The customer service and support were good. 

We used Lenovo ThinkSystem 550.

The setup was good. It provided middleware that was easy to use for web configuration and OS installation. That feature was handy and useful for beginners to do basic configuration.

We received the physical server, unpacked it, and installed it in the rack as per the design and guidance. Then, we did the basic RAID configuration for storage and installed the OS. 

After that, we configured roles and features, and then we installed third-party software, like the database software.

For the license for servicing, I don't remember the costs. There was a warranty with the server, and we extended it. That was enough for support. 

We have in-house system and server administrators, so we rarely need support unless we need a part replaced. Otherwise, the team handles everything themselves.

Overall, I would rate it a seven out of ten.

For small businesses, it is good. We are using the entry-level model, so it is good if you don't have a 24/7 critical system. Otherwise, you should choose wisely, according to your use case. 

XClarity Controller is suitable for management because the solution sends alerts about what problems can happen and how to solve problems in performance security, or reliability.

The most valuable feature of Lenovo XClarity is the ease of use because of the interface browser that is highly compatible and it has mobile web management. 

Lenovo XClarity can improve the dashboard integration. For example, graphs could be better. Additionally, more integration with other vendors is needed. For example, VMware has integration with a lot of vendors.

I have been using Lenovo XClarity for a long time.

The stability of Lenovo XClarity is good.

Lenovo XClarity is scalable. You can add another server to the data center and the console can detect the new servers. You can copy some configurations in and add them to the new server very quickly.

The initial setup of Lenovo XClarity is easy because many aspects are built into the single console in the solution. The console handles the configuration of the server and implements the OS in the same console.

We are able to implement server images in Hypervisors, such as Citrix in Microsoft Azure with a few mouse clicks.

The number of people we need for the deployment depends on the number of servers. For example, if we implement 10 servers, one field technician can handle it. However, in larger projects, we have to allocate more people. There can be a junior technician that can assist with the remote support of Lenovo which can make the implementation a lot easier.

If we are implementing another platform we need more specialized people.

My advice to others is this is the best solution for server management on the market.

We use Lenovo XClarity Controller for monitoring applications, contributing to delivering expected results to clients. In hardware management tasks, the focus is maintaining current firmware versions and patch levels.

The product's most valuable feature is its ability to provide insights into server status and alerts.

They could enable notifications on emails and phones regarding control panel information.

We have been using Lenovo XClarity Controller for three years.

The platform is highly stable. I rate the stability a ten out of ten.

We never come across any issues related to adding more servers. We have to enter the IP address and start with the work. We use the product daily to access data and check the overall status of the servers.

The initial setup is straightforward. It takes 30 minutes to complete the process. It is pre-built within the hardware; we need to configure it. One executive is required to maintain the product.

An IT engineer from our delivery team implemented the product himself.

Lenovo XClarity Controller has improved our system's deployment and monitoring processes by upgrading the firmware. It can efficiently view all the server activities in one control panel. It helps us save time by getting insights into several storage cases.

I rate it a nine out of ten.
