What is our primary use case?
I work with SAP, and currently I am working with other domains such as Power BI, Microsoft, and in the AI sector.
When working with Microsoft, I utilize solutions such as Intune, Configuration Manager, System Center, and similar Microsoft products.
I work with SAP Analytics Cloud for the analytic component, which is different and includes BusinessObjects. I work with both platforms.
Apart from GRC, which handles security, in the BusinessObjects world, I work on the admin side with BusinessObjects administration. This includes SAP Analytics Cloud and BusinessObjects WebI tool, Crystal Reports, which are analytical tools.
I am proficient with every tool they offer. I perform predictive analysis, work on web intelligence reports for ad hoc reporting, and handle Crystal Reports. I also manage admin administration, installations, upgrades, and security through GRC.
What is most valuable?
The customization options in the dashboards inside SAP BusinessObjects GRC are highly valuable.
The real-time monitoring feature of SAP BusinessObjects GRC performs effectively.
The main advantage is the ability to restrict domains. For example, one domain A cannot see domain B, and vice versa. This helps teams working with different parties maintain data security.
What needs improvement?
Regarding automation, they could enhance features for checking real-time data when someone attempts to access data without proper permissions. Currently, we do not receive immediate alerts; we only discover issues after something goes wrong. Having prevention alerts immediately when someone triggers unauthorized actions would allow us to address these situations proactively.
For how long have I used the solution?
I have been using this solution for over 13 years. To be precise, I have 12 years of experience with it.
What was my experience with deployment of the solution?
The setup process for SAP BusinessObjects GRC varies depending on whether the solution is deployed fully on-premise or as a hybrid model.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
From 1 to 10, I would rate the stability of SAP BusinessObjects GRC.
How was the initial setup?
We do not perform everything through automation. Where human intervention is required, we manage those aspects manually. Automation handles the necessary automated tasks. Before completing any scenario, administrators check everything using a checklist to ensure everything is functioning properly.
Which other solutions did I evaluate?
SAP BusinessObjects GRC can be compared with MicroStrategy and Microsoft Power BI.
SAP BusinessObjects GRC is superior in certain aspects. BusinessObjects has various interconnected tools, while Power BI primarily focuses on dashboard solutions. Each product has distinct advantages and disadvantages; they are not completely identical.
Regarding pricing, on a scale where 1 is high and 10 is low, Microsoft Power BI initially offers features for free, but these features eventually require a paid license, which can make users feel compelled to purchase.
What other advice do I have?
The overall rating for SAP BusinessObjects GRC is 8.5 out of 10. I would rate GRC solutions at eight. Nothing is perfect; if someone attempts to hack, they can create issues. The method and process offered by SAP BusinessObjects GRC are easy to understand but can be complicated to implement without grasping the basic concepts. They offer foundational rules that are crucial; understanding those allows users to navigate from level 0 to level 99 easily. Without that understanding, even level zero can create complications.
