| Chief Operations Officer at BeOnline ICT | 4.5 | We primarily use Basecamp for project management due to its ease of use. However, recent updates have made it more complex, particularly when creating teams or projects. It could benefit from improved user-friendliness and additional features for managing software projects. |
| Director InfoSec and Audit at a manufacturing company with 1,001-5,000 employees | 3.0 | I find this solution stable and useful for informal networking. However, I experience significant issues with its lack of transparency, poor documentation, and unintuitive design, making it difficult to use and learn. |
| Managing Member at Christiano Ferraro Consultancy, LLC | 4.0 | I like its seamless app/website, centralized data, and task management. I wish for contact storage and templates. It's inexpensive and easy to set up, but I question its scalability for my larger teams. |

Our primary use case for the solution is project management.
The ease of use is valuable.
The recent update on the solution has made it a little bit complex. For example, to create a team and a project, there is a separate button that you need to click. Recently they updated it with only one button making it difficult for us to create teams or supply teams other than a project. Hence the solution could be more user-friendly. Additionally, some additional features need to be integrated so it'll be easy for other companies or project managers to manage software projects.
We have been using the solution for approximately four and a half years.
The solution is stable. During our years of working with the solution, we have had two or three experiences where there was an update on the server side, and it got stuck. However, I rate the stability a nine out of ten.
The solution is scalable. Initially, they give you 500 GB of storage space, but in our time using it, we have not had any issues with storage space or scaling. I rate the scalability an eight out of ten. Approximately 20 people are using the solution in our organization.
Positive
The initial setup is straightforward.
The licensing costs are approximately $900 annually. I rate the price a four out of ten, with one being cheap and ten being expensive.
I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
The solution is used primarily to network. We use it for internal networking collaboration and the coordination of projects.
The ability to build what they call Campfires is very useful.
The ability to network informally is great for communicating with colleagues.
The solution is reasonably easy to navigate.
The solution isn't very transparent. There is a lack of documentation.
The product isn't easy to use. It's not very intuitive.
It's not really straightforward and we found that our rollout was not very educational in terms of how to best take advantage of it.
It doesn't lead you to where you want to get very easily. It's extremely hard to figure out.
We've been using the solution for about three years or so. We have some experience with it.
The solution is pretty stable. It's worked when I needed it to. There are no bugs or glitches and the solution doesn't crash or freeze. In that sense, it's reliable.
I can't speak to the scalability.
We're not that large as a company. I would not really be able to offer a very good answer. We're just a very small company.
We have a total of 50 users that are currently on Basecamp right now.
I've never actually spoken to technical support. I can't speak to how helpful and responsive they are as I haven't directly spoken to them.
The documentation is not ideal. It's hard to find what you need and it isn't really transparent. It would be ideal if they had more information so that people could help themselves if they needed to find answers.
I didn't really get involved with the initial setup. We were basically coming in from a user side and it was just pretty much handed to us. Therefore, I can't speak directly to the actual setup process.
I don't handle the licensing or sales side. I can't speak to what the solution costs in general or how much we pay.
I can't speak to what the team looked at. they decided on Basecamp before I worked at the company and therefore I can't say what products they considered before choosing this product or if they looked at any at all.
We are just customers and end-users of the product.
We're using the latest version of the solution.
I'd advise a company that is considering the solution, or anything similar, to be sure that the communications and training are very robust before throwing the users into the fray.
In general, I would rate the solution at a six out of ten. If it was more intuitive I might give it a higher mark.
It has centralization of project specific data while providing universal access to relevant parties both internal and external.
Formalized area to store contact information indexed in a way that can pre-populate other areas would be helpful.
Not sure if it has the ability to save a template of a to-do list that could be reused for similar projects.

Nothing to deploy so no.
Not so far.
It's meant for optimizing functionality with more intimate team engagement. This typically results in a lower number of participants. Not certain if scalability would be an issue.
Never called them.
Technical Support:Never called them.
Asana. The app functionality and ease of seeing the different functionalities parsed equally on the screen with consistent menu access to shift between areas.
Yes. You click a link or download the app and get to work.
No vendor.
Client dependent and would be measured in time reduction, which is also dependent on company process.
Very low cost. If the functionality helps you stay organized, then buy it. It's that inexpensive starting at $29 for unlimited users.
Asana.
Map out your processes first and set expectations for those using the tool to follow consistent protocols. This enables you to maximize the benefit that Basecamp has to offer.
