Manageable and scalable with good drag-and-drop functionality
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is very manageable."
  • "Their development interface is very easy to navigate."
  • "The deployment could be simplified."
  • "The implementation isn't straightforward. It's a bit complex in terms of deployment as there are a lot of settings you need to handle."

What is our primary use case?

The product can technically be applied in any vertical - whether that's supply chain management, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, licenses, et cetera. We have used it for most of these verticals and various processes.

How has it helped my organization?

It's all about their user manual, and the turnaround time. It allows us to focus on better quality work which ultimately helps the overall big picture.

What is most valuable?

Their overall design is fantastic. Their development interface is very easy to navigate. It has a graphical user interface with a drag-and-drop feature, which makes it very easy for the developers who are building the parts.

The solution is very manageable.

The product has good scalability capabilities.

What needs improvement?

The deployment could be simplified. There are a lot of user settings and stuff that you need to do when you need to prepare a report.

Automation Anywhere does have IQ Bot, which is a pretty good product. It needs to make sure it's competing with it in terms of feature offerings, et cetera.

We've seen some scalability issues.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been dealing with the solution for one and a half years at this point. It's hasn't been very long just yet.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable, however, we have definitely seen some issues with deploying the bot between the Dell server and the broader servers. Due to resolution issues, I find it takes time to get it up on Chrome, in the browser. You need to sometimes wake up the bot. These kinds of issues have definitely dropped off a bit. It's a little bit of a gray area at the moment, as it's hard to say when they will come up.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is definitely scalable. It's easy to scale up and manage the process if you need to.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support has been excellent. I would rate them at a nine out of ten. They are very knowledgeable and responsive. We're quite satisfied with eh level of support provided.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

As consultants, we also work with Blue Prism and Automation Anywhere. We work with a variety of different products, depending on the client.

How was the initial setup?

The implementation isn't straightforward. It's a bit complex in terms of deployment as there are a lot of settings you need to handle.

Typically, a deployment takes about a week. It depends on how a company wants to deploy, so there are a lot of standards and templates that you could follow. That said, any standard deployment that you follow definitely takes a week at a minimum. It could potentially take longer.

In terms of maintenance, you only really need one person. Again, it depends on the client, and how they want to set it up, however, I would say not more than one full-time person would be needed in the case of five ports being deployed.

What about the implementation team?

We are consultants. We can assist clients in the implementation process.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

For my part, I don't handle the pricing. I can't speak to how expensive or affordable it is. It's not a part of my day-to-day to worry about licensing.

What other advice do I have?

We're partners.

I am into consulting and my company is in consulting.

Overall, I would rate the solution at an eight out of ten. We've largely been satisfied with their level of support and the capabilities, although the deployment could be easier. They have a lot of good features in place.

As is typical for many of the RPA technologies, it's important to have a good design in place and that could resolve the development and the deployment.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

On-premises

Its scalability and portability are the most valuable, and it has helped us with process integrity and reduction of human errors and manual effort
Pros and Cons
  • "BotFarm has been working perfectly fine with our business model. Its scalability is the most valuable feature. We can easily scale out bots on a need basis. Portability is another valuable feature. We work with different payment systems like Visa and MasterCard and have bots for them. Because of BotFarm, we are able to reuse these bots."
  • "Now, we have standardized responses, and our customers are getting better, error-free, and on-time responses."
  • "The only challenge that we have faced with BotFarm is that there is no continuous deployment. The whole world is moving to the DevOps model, but BotFarm is still not on the DevOps model. It should have integration with the DevOps model. The migration of the bots or bots pipeline is currently purely manual."
  • "The only challenge that we have faced with BotFarm is that there is no continuous deployment."

What is our primary use case?

We have basically automated business operations and IT operation processes that require human intervention. These processes are also very repetitive and have chances of error. We have developed bots for such tasks, and as per our needs, we are scaling them up by using BotFarm. We have a hybrid deployment comprising Azure cloud and on-premises deployments.

How has it helped my organization?

The purpose of automation is to reduce the manual effort and number of manual users. BotFarm has helped us to reduce the headcount because there were lots of operational headcounts for manual tasks.

It has also improved operational efficiency. Earlier, we were not getting a consistent response for different users. Now, we have standardized responses, and our customers are getting better, error-free, and on-time responses. So, we have achieved process integrity, and we have reduced human errors and manual human effort. These are the three main benefits.

    What is most valuable?

BotFarm has been working perfectly fine with our business model. Its scalability is the most valuable feature. We can easily scale out bots on a need basis.

Portability is another valuable feature. We work with different payment systems like Visa and MasterCard and have bots for them. Because of BotFarm, we are able to reuse these bots.

    What needs improvement?

The only challenge that we have faced with BotFarm is that there is no continuous deployment. The whole world is moving to the DevOps model, but BotFarm is still not on the DevOps model. It should have integration with the DevOps model. The migration of the bots or bots pipeline is currently purely manual.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for almost three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Based on our usage, it is pretty stable. There are minor hiccups, but they are not because of the product. They are because of the hybrid integration that we have. We are planning to move to version 8, which is a pure cloud model.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Its scalability is very good. We currently have 120 live bots.

How are customer service and technical support?

We are in partnership with Automation Anywhere, and they are providing us good support. We haven't faced any challenges with them. They are able to help us when we face any technical challenges or need support for upgrades.

    How was the initial setup?

It was straightforward. It has the same kind of implementation that any other software has. It wasn't complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Automation Anywhere is more reasonable than Blue Prism and UiPath in terms of cost.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We evaluated Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism, and UiPath. We chose Automation Anywhere because of the features and the cost. It was more reasonable than Blue Prism and UiPath.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise others to do a thorough discovery and walkthrough of processes and then decide based on what suits their requirements. Sometimes people think that they can go to a pure cloud model, hybrid model, or on-premises model, but they should first identify the requirements and processes. They should go for what is required for their organization's needs. They shouldn't go for BotFarm just because it is good. It should also meet their needs.

I would rate BotFarm an eight out of ten. It is a good and evolving technology, and it can be very helpful for different business operations. I have good words for Automation Anywhere and BotFarm.

    Pros and Cons
    • "The most valuable features of this solution are the Excel automation and support for SharePoint."
    • "The pricing of this product could be better."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case is to extract data from websites.

Good dashboards and analytics with an easy initial setup
    Pros and Cons
    • "The initial setup is pretty straightforward."
    • "Overall, we've been happy with the solution."
    • "We have connectivity and integration with pretty much every single tech stack across the table that we have in the world, and there are a few areas that they don't do that well yet. I'd be looking for some improvement there, in terms of their integration with certain products."

What is our primary use case?

We primarily have different use cases within finance and HR as well as in IT operations.

    What is most valuable?

The solution's dashboards are very helpful to us.

We find the analytics aspect of the solution to be excellent.

The initial setup is pretty straightforward.

    What needs improvement?

We've had a few issues with the APIs.

We have connectivity and integration with pretty much every single tech stack across the table that we have in the world, and there are a few areas that they don't do that well yet. I'd be looking for some improvement there, in terms of their integration with certain products.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've only been using the solution for six to eight months. It's been less than a year. It hasn't been too long.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is quite stable and very reliable. We haven't had any negative experiences in relation to stability. If doesn't crash or freeze. There aren't bugs or glitches.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

We haven't tried to scale the solution just yet. Therefore, I can't speak to how easy or difficult scaling the product may be.

From the perspective of business processes, the product is being used in at least eight to nine different business process areas so far.

We don't have plans to increase usage. I would say from what we had originally anticipated, we are about 20% to 30% usage. It's got a lot of scope for improvement still.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We didn't previously use a different solution.

    How was the initial setup?

We didn't find the implementation to be too complex. For us, the setup was simple and straightforward. We really didn't face any issues in that regard.

The deployment itself was also very quick, which was nice.

I maintain the solution myself. You don't need a lot of staff to maintain it.

    What about the implementation team?

We actually had Automation Anywhere handle the setup for us. They were quite helpful and very knowledgeable.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I don't have any details in relation to the licensing of the cost of the solution. It's not an aspect of the product I take care of.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I personally did not evaluate other solutions, however, an internal team did. They looked at UiPath, however, they decided on this product instead.

What other advice do I have?

We're just customers. We're using the latest version of the solution right now.

I would recommend the solution to other companies if they are looking at an extensive integration across the tech stack within their organization. I would advise that if a company seriously considers the product, that they speak really clearly with Automation Anywhere. They need to ensure that their company will have the support they need, and if they do, they should consider proceeding.

Overall, we've been happy with the solution. I would rate it at a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Stable, great at removing manual work, and has good technical support
    Pros and Cons
    • "The solution is very stable. We don't have issues with bugs or glitches."
    • "As a company, if you feel that your ROI is pretty high and with Automation Anywhere you are able to achieve the desired ROI that you are looking for, then I would definitely say Automation Anywhere is a very good solution to adopt."
    • "It would be ideal if the solution offered more language options, such as Arabic."
    • "The solution is a bit higher on the pricing side."

What is our primary use case?

We are technically using it for the retail and the businesses that we have. We use it in the finance operations for the retail business, where the invoices are processed and updated in the ERP system.

    What is most valuable?

The solution is useful in procurement areas in telecom and healthcare. Basically, wherever there's a POC, where the manual work can be eliminated without any intelligence, the solution is very helpful.

    What needs improvement?

The solution is a bit higher on the pricing side. The prices could be more competitive or more reasonable or charge on a per-need basis. That would be more helpful instead of packaging it as a complete solution.

It would be ideal if the solution offered more language options, such as Arabic.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've been using the solution for close to one year at this point.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is very stable. We don't have issues with bugs or glitches. It doesn't crash or freeze. It's reliable and works well.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable. However, in terms of some areas on the language front, it's not that scalable. For me, I mostly work in the Middle East region and my customers are primarily Middle-Eastern. Arabic is the language the business works in. That is where I have a huge resistance from the business side, as the product doesn't support the Arabic language.

How are customer service and technical support?

The technical support is very good. Typically we go to our partners and they are able to easily assist us. We're satisfied with the level of service we receive.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial implementation typically starts straightforward and then can get complex.
The cloud platform, for example, has a pretty easy system. However, as you build up the system, as you scale up and further add more features to it, it becomes a little bit more expensive, complex, and bulky.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is pretty expensive as it comes as a bundle or a package and we're forced to buy everything instead of just working with the parts we need when we need them. For smaller companies, this may be difficult, as they might not have the budget to pay for everything upfront.

What other advice do I have?

We're business partners with Automation Anywhere.

In our factory, we do not work hands-on on the development tasks or the day-to-day activity. I tend to supervise and manage the RPA programs.

I'd recommend the solution. It's a good application, and it's a stable one. As a company, if you feel that your ROI is pretty high and with Automation Anywhere you are able to achieve the desired ROI that you are looking for, then I would definitely say Automation Anywhere is a very good solution to adopt.

Overall, I would rate the solution eight out of ten.

Good PDF extraction and emailing capabilities, with responsible and helpful support
    Pros and Cons
    • "The most valuable features are PDF extraction and emailing."
    • "One of the advantages of Automation Anywhere is that the Bot Insight feature is built-in."
    • "When somebody is just learning this product it can be difficult for them to understand, so improvements to the user interface would be helpful."

What is our primary use case?

We use BotForm for predicting the suppliers for a particular client. There are multiple suppliers and we have to find the ones who are coming under the Middle Market and Public Labor Department. There are some criteria, and we use that together with the Bot to trace all of the PDF documents and webpages to see if there are any suppliers in those categories.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable features are PDF extraction and emailing.

The bot insight feature is very helpful.

    What needs improvement?

When somebody is just learning this product it can be difficult for them to understand, so improvements to the user interface would be helpful. It would be nice if people could understand it right from the beginning.

In the future, I would like to see a feature for real-time chat with the support team.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with BotFarm for about one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We have found it to be stable, with no breakdown at any point. It is sustainable, as well.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The scalability is good. We have been able to scale out without any problem.

How are customer service and technical support?

We use both the community and the support team. When we create a ticket, they are very helpful. They respond quickly and there is no lag at all with the back and forth calls. They are friendly and helpful all of the time, and they fix the problem.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

We use both Automation Anywhere and UiPath. We began working with Automation Anyway but for some clients, we use UiPath.

One of the advantages of Automation Anywhere is that the Bot Insight feature is built-in. It is very useful. With UiPath, it is a separate install and it is tricky to play around with, compared to Automation Anywhere, where it is very easy.

I have seen that bots run faster in Automation Anywhere than they do in UiPath.

UiPath is less expensive than Automation Anywhere.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is simple and straightforward.

    What was our ROI?

    The ROI is really good.

What other advice do I have?

We pay approximately $15,000 USD per year.

Easy to set up and the documentation is good, but technical support could use some improvement
    Pros and Cons
    • "There are not many challenges when setting up this solution, and there is a good amount of documentation to go with it."
    • "The image processing capabilities definitely need to be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use BotForm for automating some of our manual tasks.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ease of deployment.

    What needs improvement?

The image processing capabilities definitely need to be improved.

We have had trouble automating processes running on Windows Server 2016. It seems to be related to integration with the Office tools, but I cannot 100% confirm this.

    Technical support can be improved.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been working with this software for approximately one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would say that it is stable. We have just recently started using it on a daily bases and it seems to work as expected in 80% to 90% of the cases.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There are several areas involved with using BotFarm including those working with infrastructure, technical people, and other areas. This makes it difficult to judge how many people we have that are using it. For example, there are managers that monitor the core configuration, either on a full-time or a part-time basis.

We have between 10 and 20 bots running at this point and we are adding more.

How are customer service and technical support?

The support team has a dedicated relationship manager, who is attached to our organization. We have the ability to raise tickets as a partner. At the same time, I can't say that support is great but we can manage.

It is no different than support with other vendors, such as IBM, where it depends on how high you escalate the ticket. At a very high level, they respond, then after a few months, they slow down again and take their own time. It is part of the cycle.

    How was the initial setup?

There are not many challenges when setting up this solution, and there is a good amount of documentation to go with it.

    What about the implementation team?

We had assistance from the consultants for our deployment.

What other advice do I have?

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

Easy to deploy and a good user experience, with helpful community support
    Pros and Cons
    • "The most valuable feature is the interface, which helps to provide a good user experience."
    • "The deployment could be made a little bit easier."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution for automating manual tasks.

    What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the interface, which helps to provide a good user experience.

It is very easy to deploy.

    What needs improvement?

The deployment could be made a little bit easier.

An automated telephone support system would be helpful.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using BotFarm for a few months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

We haven't had any trouble with stability.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    This is a scalable solution.

We have ten or eleven people using this solution. Right now, they are admins and developers, as we have not given access to end-users yet.

How are customer service and technical support?

I haven't had a chance to interact with technical support yet. The community support is good.

    How was the initial setup?

In terms of difficulty, I would say that the initial setup is in the middle. It is not too complex, yet not too simple, either. It took us about two days to deploy, which included performing the discovery and applying it.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing model could be simplified.

What other advice do I have?

Automation Anywhere is the leading RPA solution right now.

At this point, it is too early for me to officially recommend it. However, at this moment, based on what I have seen so far, I recommend it.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten.

User-friendly, with helpful cognitive controls, but the machine learning capability needs to be enhanced
    Pros and Cons
    • "The best aspect is the UI, as it is very user-friendly."
    • "The machine learning needs to be improved so that they perform better in terms of predictive analysis and sentiment analysis."

    What is most valuable?

The best aspect is the UI, as it is very user-friendly. A business user can employ the tool as efficiently as a full developer.

The intelligent and cognitive controls that they offer are helpful.

    What needs improvement?

The machine learning needs to be improved so that they perform better in terms of predictive analysis and sentiment analysis.

The documentation needs to be improved because it does not shed much light on how the product can be used. In general, the support can be improved.

    The stability can be improved.

Having the ability to control the system from the cloud would be helpful, rather than setting up the environment locally.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with BotFarm for between four and six months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability is something that they need to work on.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

This is certainly a scalable tool. It is spread throughout the organization and our user count is perhaps in the hundreds. The roles of our users are varied. For example, it is used by the service processing team, and it is also used by the client where the product is implemented. There are also administrators who manage the overall control.

How are customer service and technical support?

I would rate the technical support a six out of ten, as there is improvement needed.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

In terms of RPA, I have experience with both Automation Anywhere and UiPath.

    How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. I did not look at the cloud-based implementation, but the MSI installer for the on-premises deployment is a quick one. If the firewall and other things are set up correctly then the deployment will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.

What other advice do I have?

My advice for anybody who is considering this solution is to have a proof of concept first. It is important because it may be that some of the features required by the client are not included in BotFarm. As this is a very user-friendly product, it can scale into the organization once the PoC is complete.

I would rate this solution a seven out of ten.

Easy to run scripts and the latest version has good improvements
    Pros and Cons
    • "They recently released the newest version that has a good program flow, quality, and blueprints that are all good improvements to the automation, and they also have good integration with SAP."
    • "The new version is not very stable. Sometimes I can't use the recording sound."

    What is most valuable?

They recently released the newest version that has a good program flow, quality, and blueprints that are all good improvements to the automation. They also have good integration with SAP.

It's also easy to run scripts from the EBS.

    What needs improvement?

The new version is not very stable. Sometimes I can't use the recording sound.

They should improve the community. It should have a download version instead of every time needing to deploy through the SAS system something new. It's time-consuming.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using BotFarm for the past year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    The software is overall stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It's easy to scale. We provide this solution to SMBs. They have around 500 employees but 50 in the office.

We recommend that it gets used daily.

How are customer service and technical support?

I have contacted their support. We have a relationship with them in China. Their support is okay. I am satisfied with them.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I prefer Automation Anywhere to UiPath.

    How was the initial setup?

It's easy to set up. To get it installed and ready to work takes less than one hour.

What other advice do I have?

It is a good solution. I would recommend it.

I would rate it an eight out of ten. To make it a ten it should be more user-friendly. The community version should also be more stable. It should allow the user to directly download and install without the need to deploy through the SAS system.

They should also have more video material and guidelines.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

    On-premises
