Helps us to do spreadsheet reports on sales and quotations and provides donor reports for projects
The solution's initial setup is straightforward. The solution's deployment took three months. A business certification is needed and then the setup is possible. After that, there are months of follow-up. The full consolidation took around us three months. That happens in parallel to Microsoft training. The transition and complete deployment took six months and touching base with each unit was needed. We have seven modules deployed for the ERP. Seven people are needed for the testing and sign-off. But then, on the technical side, an email addressing the database administrator and the product owner is needed. The maintenance requirements are taken care of by the vendor. I rate the initial setup a seven out of ten.

Provides efficiency for small businesses, but requires costly add-ons for broader capabilities
I am currently using SAP products but not primarily selling SAP. Regarding real-time data processing capabilities, it is partially helpful for decision-making. It has built-in capability for real-time data, but it's not interactive data analytics. People need another solution such as Power BI to be integrated to get real-time data with interactive analytics. When it comes to customizing reporting in SAP Business One, it has the capability to customize reports via SAP Crystal Reports. It has a good amount of reports, but for each business, you need to understand exactly what the customer needs to customize their reports. The solution includes a mobile app to access key business information, though it is a very weak mobile app. The main benefit SAP Business One provides to users is ease of access. It's very good to present to customers, both from the interface and capabilities perspective. It's suitable for small to medium companies, making the buy-in for the solution very good. The pricing for SAP Business One is very competitive. Overall, SAP Business One is a very good solution for small to medium businesses. If your company is looking for an ERP to run end-to-end business, this is the solution. You need specific add-ons to run in specific industries, but it's approximately 70% good for most small to medium companies. My overall rating for SAP Business One is 7 out of 10.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"I have found the solution has many valuable features such as a user-friendly mobile platform, notification settings, and the ability to do many customizations."
"The tool's usability is straightforward."
"The three most crucial pieces are the financial modules, the banking module, and the management module."
"The relationship map is very useful for us."
"One of the biggest advantages of SAP Business One, especially in the public cloud, is that many features are standardized, which reduces the need for customization."
"It is quite simple, and it is suitable for medium and small businesses."
"The most valuable feature of SAP Business One is the price and reputation of the vendor. The solution is widely accepted around the world."
"It's very powerful and very complete."
"For us, the most useful feature of Business One is Material Requirements Planning (MRP)."
"The document search feature is very good."
"Ease of access is a valuable feature."

Cons

"The build-in dashboard and reporting customization should be improved."
"Improvements could be made regarding user-friendliness and transitioning fully to a web version. Features like forex reconciliation and a cash flow planning module could enhance the solution."
"The reporting Module should be improved and a drag and drop functionality should be added."
"Our company is expanding to different countries, and business is growing. We feel that it is not good enough for the huge volume of the business. On-premises setup is not good enough for the overseas office. We have our onsite premises in Hong Kong, but we have a major sales office in the US. We are looking for a more efficient setup to fulfill our requirements and needs. It can have portals for vendors, suppliers, and customers. I know that they have this feature in version 10, but it still has space to improve."
"It could have RPA automation and RPA elements. There could also be add-ons for a Document Management System and Warehouse Management System."
"The analytics data capabilities could improve which will provide businesses with much more insight into how their companies are performing."
"More support can be provided on the web client end."
"Financially, I don't see any benefit from using SAP Business One because while some investment has happened, I can't see any return; it is the lowest cost product compared to others."
"Something which would be helpful to management and, from our vantage point as a user, would be to see a simple reporting tool."
"There are possibilities to extend its functionality. Things such as Quality Management System (QMS) and Payroll are currently not a part of the product. These things are needed."
"I would love to have more reporting capabilities. It should have an embedded BI engine. Currently, I have to maintain an additional system for BI."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"I rate the tool's pricing an eight out of ten. Customizations can cost you extra money."
"The solution is moderately priced. The licensing cost is around sixty thousand USD for annual maintenance. If you're using an application-specific license, it is a little cheaper. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"The price of the solution is fair compared to competitors."
"The price of SAP Business One is high for smaller businesses to afford. The currency plays a large part in the fluctuation of the solution's price when we convert the USD to our local currency. $1,400 is for a limited license and $3,700 is for a professional license."
"We compared the Microsoft solution with Oracle NetSuite, as they have a price decrease. It is, however, not that much cheaper, and the price is comparable to SAP."
"This solution can work with a very small company, but the price may not be the right, it may not be the right fit for them. We can't help with this because we have to really understand the market, the target audience, and we have to position the product accordingly. The price is not a very big concern because if the customer is finding value or the dealer, distributor, or implementation partner can show real value in the solution, then the price will not be a question at all."
"We recently acquired the license, so we are using the latest version."
"The licensing cost for SAP Business One is affordable, and I'd rate it as four out of five. The license covers the software, the configuration, and the services, but if you want technical support, you'd need to pay for that separately."
"I rate the price of SAP Business One a seven out of ten."
"If you are in the US or Canadian the costs of SAP Business One could vary per license, it can be anywhere between $2,000 tor $5,000."
"It's not cheap but offers good value, particularly for medium-sized enterprises."
