Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

User interface streamlines task automation and improves efficiency
akaBot made a noticeable difference at Wika because it is lightweight and easy to use, and moreover, akaBot has a forum to answer many questions. The ease of use stands out because the design of akaBot is very friendly. The best features that akaBot offers in my experience include the UI automation in the browser or in the Windows application. What I appreciate most about the UI automation in browsers or Windows applications is the auto-generate selector in a browser and Windows application. This feature makes a difference because it reduced most of the time developing the bot.

No-code workflows have streamlined daily operations and support seamless cross-application automation
Microsoft Power Automate's no-code workflows help my team in daily operations to a great extent. Automating a particular activity may not be so useful, but when you connect the whole workflow, then it starts helping a lot. I cannot say much about the best features in Microsoft Power Automate because I have not used it personally, but first of all, it is very easy, it is a low-code platform, and Microsoft has a lot of integration with Microsoft technologies, making it very easy to connect with MS Teams and different Microsoft products, including MS Azure. From that point of view, it provides a lot of connectivity options. From a cost point of view, Mendix is much more costly compared to Microsoft Power Platform, allowing us to develop applications very quickly.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"We get a significant ROI even though the licensing cost is higher than average. The gains we realize from the initial development make up for it. In the last three years, I estimate we have saved around 2,200 hours of labor. To date, we've saved almost $6 million."
"The speed-up and greater control over the quality of the processes have also led to savings in money and are increasing the happiness of the company's customers."
"Automation Anywhere is very good for rapid development. It has all the capabilities in terms of giving a stable automation framework. It has very cool technical capabilities, like MetaBots, dev controls, and object cloning."
"It helps increase productivity by 20% to 30%."
"The object cloning is its most valuable feature."
"Overall, this is a great tool because it's easy to maintain and it can reduce hiring costs, leading to reduced overall costs in the future."
"We can access it anywhere. E.g., I can access dashboard from my Control Room on my mobile app using Automation Anywhere."
"One of the things I appreciate the most about Automation Anywhere is that it's in the cloud, so when we are on-site on a project, we collect a lot of data, hand it to this bot, and it runs the function; by the time we reach our destination, whether we move from San Francisco to New York, it's equivalent to 20 people's work in six hours, utilizing quite a few attended or unattended bots."
"akaBot made a noticeable difference at Wika because it is lightweight and easy to use, and moreover, akaBot has a forum to answer many questions."
"The cost is affordable, and it fits our requirements."
"Power Automate is a better and more cost-effective solution compared to Automation tools."
"I think the most valuable thing about this product for me is that it is really quick and easy to use."
"Because it is cloud-based, it is an easy-to-use tool for both small and enterprise-wide solutions."
"The sequencer programming mode's ease of use is its most valuable aspect. The ease of calling out the functions in a sequence, basically from the functional side, is great."
"It is very easy to learn and use. It is quite useful for any sort of back-office work. Any kind of work with low and medium complexity is very doable in ProcessRobot. For higher complexity, some refinement is required, but it is doable."
"The most valuable thing about the product is that it is simple."
"We use Power Automate for applicant tracking and automated around 80 percent of the process."
"It is a very useful product as compared to other products."

Cons

"In A2019 it does not display the exact running status, but rather it displays the previous one."
"I would like to see them expand the service catalog with RCA add-ons to the current RPA package."
"Pricing with respect to the competitors is more."
"When it comes to reading email, this solution is unstable and improvements need to be made."
"It would be better if they could extend the support for AA version 11 for a few more years, as most of the companies have tasks completed in AA version 11, and A2019 is much slower compared to AA 11."
"As a developer, I find Automation Anywhere's bot editor riddled with minor workflow issues that hinder productivity."
"The integration is not always seamless. Sometimes, it takes a while to get everything to communicate and be ready to go into production."
"We have had issues with stability in the past, and there should be a function that helps you to find out what is wrong with your environment that is causing the automation to fail."
"If they can provide more intelligent automation, it would be beneficial."
"I used UiPath before akaBot, and I think UiPath has more features than akaBot."
"Tech support could be more hands-on. Right now, they simply direct users to documentation instead of directly dealing with issues."
"We need a more powerful desktop option."
"I've had issues with reordering columns. When I tried to do it, it seemed to take a long time, and then, later, it gave me some kind of error."
"They can provide a deeper level of feedback about running processes. When I compare it to Blue Prism, the control room has slightly less information about the running processes and possible errors. I'm not a pro, so I am not entirely sure if this is a core feature of the product or if it is because of the way our partners have developed it or set it up."
"Due to the issues with scalability, I do not recommend this product."
"The coding part could be improved. Sometimes, there are triggers that require coding."
"Power Automate cannot handle high end projects and, from a developer's perspective, it's a little difficult for enterprise size companies."
"The solution could use some more advanced AI tools. It's one of the solution's only weaknesses."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution is costly and the licensing is very confusing."
"It's justified because we have saved quite a bit of money at the company and many manual hours. Overall, it justifies the cost."
"It is somewhere in the middle. The price and value of Automation Anywhere are better than UiPath. The pricing is good globally. It could be a little bit cheaper, but it is good."
"Automation Anywhere is somewhat expensive. The prices are slightly higher, but if you need something, you must pay for it."
"It's very good in terms of cost and pricing."
"Our advice is that anybody interested in this product should negotiate product bundles in order to reduce the cost of installation and setup."
"We are interested in saving manual engineer man-hours. So far, we have saved $100,000."
"As our team size increases, we may get some more licenses for the tool."
Information not available
"On a scale from one to ten, where one is cheap and ten is expensive, I rate the solution's pricing two to three out of ten."
"It costs us nothing because we use it on the built-in cost that is a part of our existing license for 365. To use it more extensively, there are different pricing models. Its licensing is complex. It is complex to evaluate the cost in advance. As a result, people don't use it because they don't know what overall cost they are going to incur. There are too many criteria to figure out how much it is going to cost you to use the product to its full extent. Its licensing model should be improved, and the pricing should be more visible and transparent."
"We are using the free version of Power Automate."
"The price of the solution is reasonable. I rate the pricing a five out of ten."
"There is a per-user licensing model for individual users."
"I don't deal with the financial side. I know that we pay for a per-user license. It is probably less than $20 a user, but I am not sure about the exact figures."
"There are many different ways to license it."
"Due to the pricing model, the solution is more convenient than any other tools."
