Has a free version, is secure and reliable
I'm a consultant. I recommend free Avast, then ESET. If they want to be more secure, you can go to ESET, the bigger license. If you want to have a cheap license, Avast is good. I'd rate the solution eight out of ten. I do prefer ESET, however. Yet I would recommend either product as they are both pretty good.

Responsive, integrates well with other applications, and the technical support is helpful
There is always room for improvement. I haven't had any problems, and they're doing a great job, in my opinion. They're doing quite well. In most cases, when we discover an issue, we report it to their engineers, who then schedule a fix. Normally, when we request something, I can see it happening within three to four months. This is a raw system. Of course, it has some flaws that could be improved. But, it's something that we will have to work with to get to the point where we need this, we request it and they do their best to make it happen. There is a lot of integration with other applications through Automate, and I believe they are working with all of the industry leaders to get the integration going. I am very pleased to be working with them.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Previously, we were working with Norton, and we switched from Norton to Avast because we believe Avast is far superior and a better solution, especially for PC management."
"As a free product, it is top of its class, with this solution installed I am not concerned about threats to my PC."
"It warns you if there is a threat and it's perfect because it runs in the background and doesn't interfere with anything."
"Avast as a product is as easy as it gets - everything is outlined and transparent in terms of licensing."
"Our favorite feature is the PC Patch Management."
"Avast Business Endpoint Protection's best feature is its user-friendliness."
"The solution can scale well."
"It's not heavy on the system."
"One of the greatest benefits of LabTech is less client downtime, because LabTech lets you proactively monitor and fix issues before they interrupt your clients’ business, so you can virtually eliminate system outages."
"Technical support has been good. Everyone we have been in contact with has responded to our queries in a reasonable amount of time."
"Their premium support is great."
"The automated scripts feature means that we can set up for a lot of different things and they have reduced tech input drastically, in the sense that a task only needs to be done once instead of 100 times."
"It's a very good IT tool for a company that provides IT services. It is very helpful for technicians to work with the tool to see all of the customers in one place and then manage all of the computers in one place."
"The solution is very stable; it's reliable, there are no bugs and glitches, and it doesn't crash or freeze."
"Scripting and patch management are really important for us. Patch Manager is something that we use a lot, and we would love to have it continually improved. It is one of the most useful features for us for controlling patches and other things for different clients."
"Remote access and detailed monitoring help us support our equipment."

Cons

"Avast Business Endpoint Protection would be improved with more frequent updates."
"The solution needs to be more secure and work to protect us better from people trying to mess with our systems."
"The accuracy of the scanner could be improved. Sometimes, it can turn a good file into a suspicious file."
"Making the price a bit cheaper would be an improvement."
"It could have a 10,000-feet overview of the whole infrastructure because the software is easily installable on the whole infrastructure and not just the infrastructure, but also the workstations themselves."
"It should have proper and timely updates to deal with new viruses as they come onto the market."
"It could download faster during deployment."
"I would like to see better protection such as prevention from hacker attacks and fake websites."
"The menu doesn't always load properly."
"The project management needs improvement and there's a section of the product called configuration that also needs to be improved."
"I know we get some false positives at times, where things report offline and then when we connect to them with control they're connectable."
"I would say that it really needs to improve on it. They need better visibility and reporting and alerts and different things."
"They always change the GUI to some dumb-down version of tiles which are more "user-friendly", but slows my team down in the end."
"We would love to get feature updates and cumulative updates fixed. I know they aren't really supposed to be pushed with Patch Manager. We've got recommendations from ConnectWise to use the scripted feature update installs, scripted KB updates, etc. Having these in Patch Manager itself would be great."
"The fixed client for Automate is slow. The web client is not very intuitive."
"I almost would rather have a different tool, but I'm not sure which one yet."
