Has managed traffic effectively but lacks visibility and advanced control features
Azure Firewall is typically behind other vendor firewalls because we don't see what kind of traffic is traveling through it. That is one drawback. The main drawback is that we need log support from Azure Firewall, which can be quite costly. There is no login feature in Azure Firewall because only the IAM feature is available in the Azure site; we manage it only through the Azure portal, not through any other portal. Other vendors, such as Palo Alto, provide GUI or CLI interfaces to manage their firewalls, whereas we only manage Azure Firewall through the Azure portal. In the future, I would like to see additional features in Azure Firewall Manager to make it more competitive, such as technologies like App-ID and User-ID that Palo Alto has. Azure Firewall currently only allows traffic based on layer four and sometimes layer seven, so they need to improve in those areas compared to other vendors.

Cloud logs have supported long-term auditing but security vulnerabilities still raise concerns
It depends on the user. When he needs maybe data retention for one year, for three months or more, I recommend Fortinet FortiGate Cloud. If he doesn't want to set the log on FortiAnalyzer, I will recommend him with Fortinet FortiGate Cloud. It depends. As I mentioned before, if they don't have a syslog server or any other SIEM, I will recommend it. If they need an audit for one year of data retention, I will recommend it because it's worth the money for one year of log retention. It's straightforward. If I enable Fortinet FortiGate Cloud feature on the FortiGate on-premise or VM, it will copy the configuration on the cloud. Depending on my license, I can configure it or have it as read-only with a limited license. That's one of the main purposes of Fortinet FortiGate Cloud for me. The report doesn't have many templates, but the log retention is so good with one-year retention. If you compare it with the FortiAnalyzer or maybe with any other product such as a FortiSIEM template, with the limited license, you only get the 360 template, it's called. I think the security function, I mainly use it for configuration purposes and log retention purposes. The security is the same as the VM or the hardware, I think. The sandbox. I think it has it, but not a lot if you only have the default capability with only 10 files per minute. I think the user needs to be selective with the files that they want to send to the sandbox on the cloud.

Quotes from Members

Pros

"The most valuable feature of Azure Firewall Manager is the testing and configuration."
"The solution is very easy to set up."
"It has helped us in multiple ways; for example, we don't require different spaces to manage it, we can do a lot of automation integrations into the code, we could integrate it into the DevOps pipeline, and it has helped us with our time-to-market for a very specific product when we are actually deploying or upgrading."
"I would definitely recommend the solution to my clients, especially if one is using Azure Cloud."
"The best feature of Azure Firewall Manager is that it is easy to maintain and configure."
"Azure Firewall Manager centralizes network security management with a hub and spoke architecture."
"The most valuable feature is the web firewall, as it is easy to install and does not require any plugins for your browser."
"The solution has improved our organization with its firewall."
"FortiGate Cloud has many features that we like. For example, we're using it for security incident management, threat intelligence, and vulnerabilities check. It's integrated with several Fortinet tools like FortiAnalyzer and FortiSandbox controlled through FortiManager."
"The most valuable features of Fortinet FortiGate Cloud are the IPS, SSL Wireless, and VPN, and additionally, packet inspection and point-to-point VPN application control are useful."
"I definitely recommend Fortinet FortiGate Cloud as it is a stable, easy-to-use, and economically viable option for customers."
"Fortinet FortiGate Cloud has security features like DDoS protection and UTM."
"The platform is scalable."
"The scalability is good, and if a company needs to expand it, it can do so."
"There's a lot of return with FortiGate Cloud - it saves me a lot on configuration time, and there are a lot fewer headaches overall."
"The solution is scalable because they have models that allow it to be right sized."

Cons

"The price is okay. This said, the solution is certainly expensive in comparison with other cloud services."
"For Azure Firewall Manager, the learning curve for new people is a bit challenging, but the integration should be more straightforward for configuring a centralized system."
"The solution can improve the integration with open-source tools."
"The configuration and settings require substantial time for learning, particularly for new users. Improvements in ease of configuration would benefit users significantly."
"Azure charges for many aspects including scaling, automated scaling deployment, and traffic management, which leads to higher costs."
"The cost is a significant concern because we are in a region where the dollar is not our default currency, and converting to dollars makes it very expensive."
"We could do only one-way NAT-ing, where the traffic comes from outside to internal, to Azure, which is fine. However, when we actually do NAT-ed traffic to hit the firewall, that way is not working."
"There should be a simple one-click deployment for a firewall, rather than a set of setup instructions that include steps such as the DNS configuration, et cetera."
"Some configuration changes would be helpful."
"Fortinet FortiGate Cloud could improve security. Some of my customers do not trust on-cloud solutions."
"Reporting is an area that can be enhanced. It is not always beneficial, and you have to buy an additional license to get the type of reports that you're looking for."
"However, the absence of certain features like CLI is a drawback."
"The cost of the solution is too high. It should be adjusted to be more affordable for companies."
"The new versions of the tool sometimes have bugs, and so we often have to spend a lot of time fixing issues in the solution. I want the patches offered by the product to be improved."
"Maybe the upgrades could be a little bit easier, especially when customers don't upgrade in a long time."
"Everything related to the graphical user interface should be improved."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The price of the solution is reasonable but it is reasonable for the features."
"The solution is certainly expensive in comparison with other cloud services."
"Fortinet has only an annual payment method. There is no monthly payment option. They have only one standard license without any additional features."
"I rate the solution's pricing a nine out of ten."
"While pricing could be more competitive, it ultimately depends on the client's budget and specific feature requirements."
"I would not say that the product is cheaply priced. If I consider the long-term value for the service I receive, the price of the product is excellent."
"The pricing is competitive."
"The product cost varies based on company budgets, but for us, it's reasonably priced considering the value it provides."
"The solution is mid-priced when compared to other products."
"Fortinet FortiGate Cloud is a cost-effective solution. I rate its pricing a six out of ten. Pricing depends on the firewall model. If the firewall model's pricing is high, the solution's pricing also increases."
