A scalable solution for backup and restore that has an easy setup
The solution's updates and rollouts of the patches cause a lot of problems. There's no other way around it. Recently, we have also faced RDS and print server issues. One of our clients experienced some remote desktop service issues. These things keep happening with Microsoft. They have a patch, and then they have some other rollout that fixes it. The solution should be more consistent with its patching updates.

Backup has protected our office data and now restores individual emails while admins configure settings
Although Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 is a Backup as a Service, it should give slight leverage to the admins to do more of their own configurations. When it comes to Software as a Service, we do need to agree on certain things, as we do not have much control over the software. If Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 can improve, it would be better. It could be slightly better, but it is acceptable. As long as support is provided in a timely manner, it is good. I cannot tell it is fully bad or fully good. If I were to give a rating of one to five, I might give 3.5 to four. Rather than giving a help database, which is an ocean of information to search through ourselves, we should be able to open a ticket and have them guide us on how to do it. As an end-user, different levels of admins exist—a fresh admin and a more experienced admin. They need to encourage us to open a ticket quickly, and from there they should guide us straightforwardly with the steps to follow to achieve the desired outcome.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"The stability has always been very good."
"Backup and Restore for SharePoint & Microsoft Office 365 is easy to use."
"The solution has good scalability."
"The most valuable feature includes leaving the stub files behind and integrating that with the recenter feature."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 has good security, and I also like the process they use for backups."
"The tool's most valuable feature is its integration with M365. Its GUI is intuitive and not bad. The granular recovery options for VMs have been useful, though not as crucial as Office 365 integration, which is why we use it. Granular recovery depends on the specific problems our customers face."
"I want an additional copy of my data in the Office cloud and it works."
"This is definitely a product that I can recommend."
"The solution is stable and, with the options available, it's the only one we've used."
"Veeam Backup does backup and restore very well, comparable to Acronis, and we have found both Veeam Backup and Acronis to be very easy to use and integrate naturally for administration."
"Veeam makes modular solutions, so you can install Veeam Backup for Office 365 and Veeam Backup and Replication in one single server. You can do an all in one installation, and roll it out."
"Overall, it's a very good product."

Cons

"The user experience needs a little refreshing touch."
"The solution's updates and rollouts of the patches cause a lot of problems."
"I think the solution itself keeps up with everything else. Sometimes it would be nice if they could move a little bit quicker and have faster updates, but in terms of the features, it's absolutely fine and adequate."
"We need more options for the backup schedule."
"This is a cloud solution, and the speed can be slow sometimes."
"They need to enable the encryption of backups so that nobody can gain access unless they have encryption details."
"The solution should have backup integration features, not just concerning mail but also when it comes to such solutions as SharePoint."
"The support for deduplication appliances is an area to consider for improvement."
"The integration and the coverage of all the features related to the protection of Teams could be improved."
"They should improve the backup and restoration time."
"We will be evaluating whether we will continue using this solution in the future because it is not practical to keep it when it does not do the backups of all our users' information requiring us to have two solutions."
"There is still a need for improvement when it comes to individual database backups, particularly for Oracle and other newer databases."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The solution’s pricing is expensive."
"Regarding CloudArchiver, you purchase per terabyte."
"The solution could also be cheaper."
"Veeam Backup for Office 365 is a subscription-based solution."
"The solution is not expensive."
"For the number of users and amount of storage you receive, it is not expensive."
"We have 2000 users and pay about $10,000. It may be a little bit more per year. We have an education institute and may have fewer expenses."
"Its price is a little bit high, but it is a fantastic solution. It is more expensive than NetApp."
"The pricing is expensive."
"We looked at a few cloud options. When we did the comparison, we found it to be a cost-effective solution, and it included everything."
"The cost is a bit on the high side."
