Experienced reduced alert fatigue with streamlined notifications
We use Blackpoint Cyber MDR for our higher-end clients who need a higher level of control over security I appreciate that there are people behind the scenes sorting out valuable alerts from those that are not, so I only get alerts when they are real. This feature ensures that I am notified only…

Managed detection has stopped account takeovers and has strengthened our incident response playbooks
Their threat analytics and process insights are exceptional. When Huntress Managed ITDR finds malware, a virus, or a phishing email, their analytics have improved significantly over time. I remember when they were not very detailed, but now they provide comprehensive information down to the specific type of dependency affected on a host machine. They show us exactly where all the infected files are located on the computer, which makes cleanup straightforward and invaluable. I know they partner with Microsoft, and if you have Huntress Managed ITDR and Microsoft Defender, it is truly near real-time as stated. That is a very accurate claim.

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"On a scale from one to ten, I would rate the overall solution as a ten."
"I appreciate that there are people behind the scenes sorting out valuable alerts from those that are not, so I only get alerts when they are real."
"The solution is all encompassing and can incorporate email monitoring."
"I appreciate that there are people behind the scenes sorting out valuable alerts from those that are not, so I only get alerts when they are real."
"The solution also watches over Microsoft 365 and keeps a copy of logs."
"On my end, the most valuable feature of this solution is that I can install it and forget about it. After that, their SOC team takes over and they only call me when there's a problem."
"Their SOC is phenomenal in not monitoring and responding and taking action."
"The maintenance for Huntress Managed ITDR requires no maintenance on my end; it is self-reliant in that once it is set up, it does most of the heavy lifting, and you really just have to review alerts as it monitors for any issues."
"You get value, and you get more value than most people realize from their products versus competitors."
"One feature I appreciate the most about Huntress Managed ITDR is its integration with Microsoft Defender, because most users in our organization have Microsoft Business Premium licenses, so Defender for Endpoint comes along with Business Premium, meaning there is no extra cost."
"However, with Huntress Managed ITDR, we don't have to deal with those scenarios because they simply don't happen."
"Huntress Managed ITDR has helped me detect identity threats extremely effectively; Compromised accounts are managed extremely well because we often get sign-ins from unknown locations faster than a client is aware their account is compromised."
"I would definitely recommend Huntress Managed ITDR to other users because it is easy to use, and it does not provide too many false positives, which is very important, especially when you are dealing with a company the size that we are; we really need to focus on actionable alerts, and it is the best tool that we have found for protecting the Microsoft 365 environment."
"Huntress Managed ITDR examines various nulls from the M365 tenants. If anything suspicious is identified, their SOC analysts can take a closer look and subsequently take action."
"The centralized management with the EDR and ITDR is beneficial."

Cons

"While I am very satisfied with the service, supporting additional platforms, particularly Linux support, would be a beneficial improvement."
"The interface could be more intuitive."
"The feature we keep asking for is a vulnerability scan."
"While I am very satisfied with the service, supporting additional platforms, particularly Linux support, would be a beneficial improvement."
"The solution does not tie into other EDR products like CyberArk or CrowdStrike but that might be more useful."
"Some texts seem to report items as normal too quickly."
"The interface could be more intuitive. More transparency is needed in the interface as a lot of details are hidden behind the scenes, making them difficult or impossible to access."
"One challenge has been applying rules to staff only due to the option in the VPN rules where I can either deny all VPNs for the organization or do case-by-case exceptions, with no in-between."
"The product needs further maturity, with some improvements in the user interface."
"A downside of Huntress Managed ITDR is that some devices show they are not super compatible with the Defender for Endpoint integration."
"The product needs further maturity, with some improvements in the user interface."
"In areas where Huntress Managed ITDR could improve, I would suggest exclusions and the ability to add whitelisting for file types or select files, making it more transparent."
"One area that has room for improvement with Huntress Managed ITDR is that there was a gap with detections inside of America."
"I see improvements to the HaloPSA integration as something that could be better; it would be good to see more information in the ticket raised."
"In terms of room for improvement, I think they can expand the coverage beyond Microsoft 365."
