Has significantly improved document-driven workflows and reduced processing time across finance and HR functions
Automation Anywhere has evolved significantly and upgraded itself to provide agentic AI and AI-based automation solutions for document automation. The product has matured considerably over time. We can create workflows that can call an API. We can include prompts in particular workflows for ChatGPT-related functions, connecting to an LLM and RAG to perform tasks. For document automation, modern features are available to train documents, ensuring high accuracy and repeatability over time. The system is very easy to use. I recently completed a course in document automation, typically designed for people involved in coding and technical aspects. Though I understand coding comprehensively, I don't do actual coding. The course was very accessible. Currently, extensive coding isn't necessary due to the hybrid model incorporating GenAI aspects, low-code, no-code capabilities, APIs, and numerous pre-built objects in Automation Anywhere. The features include GenAI-driven prompting methods and workflow creation capabilities. In these workflows, we can create decision boxes and call APIs without coding. We simply pull objects, drop them, connect them, and add minimal coding when needed. The most crucial aspect isn't coding but rather sizing the automation and fleshing out the details. Automation Co-pilot takes notes and performs automated analysis. It can extract details from videos, summarize conversations, and provide detailed information. During calls, it identifies instructions and performs tasks such as preparing reports and reconciliation. Automation Anywhere can also connect with Microsoft Co-pilot. Through Co-pilot, real-time operations can be executed, allowing direct interaction between vendors and automation through this component.

A flexible, comprehensive, integrated IT service and asset management platform with good technical support
We use BMC FootPrints Service Core to manage network issues, infrastructure issues, software issues, and ERP. We also use it to manage our facility. So, we do some work orders and also use it as an extra ticketing system Technical support is good. It would be better if it were more…

Omni-channel routing has transformed case handling and now supports complex field operations
From my experience, we might need queue-based alignment in Omni-Channel routing. Assignment rules should be defined at the flow level. The challenge with SLA creation is evident in escalation rules, which should include a field flagging feature that is lacking in the current setup. Einstein Bot, linked with Omni-Channel messaging, is complex to define, with a need for all related information in one place, making the process cumbersome. Understanding which bot is associated with specific messaging apps requires manual searching, and this can be improved.

Quotes from Members

We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use. Here are some excerpts of what they said:

Pros

"Being the end user, we didn't really have to get into a learning curve as such since our vendor partners were able to map everything for us as per our requirements. There was not much training that we had to do."
"Learning Automation Anywhere prepares our students for a better future because the future belongs to RPA Automation."
"Business users utilize Bot Insight dashboards to get analysis."
"When we compare other projects on other platforms versus Automation Anywhere, the technical support we are receiving in terms of efficiency, and even that they are giving us good price, this is what we are looking for."
"The ease of use is its key novel feature, as I have actually trained people in finance who have not written a piece of code in their lives and they are able to pick it up."
"The application replaced about three employees for the OFAC verification processes, thus eliminating the need to hire more people for those tasks."
"Automation Anywhere is very simple to use; the features are very simple, the application is light, and overall I love it."
"It is easier to learn, implement, and get things done with Automation Anywhere compared to other tools on market right now."
"This product solidly handles incident management, problem management, and change management."
"I have used Tier II BMC support a few times. They were very responsive and recreated my environment in their lab to support me."
"It has helped the help desk team. We get our tickets in and are able to support our customers, the end-users, with this solution."
"It's extremely stable; we've got customers who are mobile telecommunication customers, hospitals, power companies, and an airport, and we can handle the volume with no interruptions where instability would really be unacceptable."
"It is stable and its technical support is good and quick."
"The discovery feature is very flexible."
"Technical support is good."
"I feel confident in saying that BMC FootPrints Service Core is definitely one of the best products in the market."
"The Salesforce customer service has been excellent."
"Service Cloud has allowed our organization to centralize multiple tools and resources into one tech stack that has optimized our ability to coordinate service efforts across the organization."
"Salesforce is much more easily configured so it can change as your business processes change; it’s extremely scalable so it can grow as your business grows, and its API is extensive so you can integrate with back office systems in a relatively straightforward way."
"Every aspect of the product has great security boundaries."
"Nobody can compete with Salesforce Service Cloud's scalability."
"There are several good features, but the most valuable to us are the integrated email, entitlements, and the overall powerfulness of the platform."
"The interface is quite user-friendly."
"The complexity of the solution is very less."

Cons

"The current accuracy rate of 60% for document-based automations requires human intervention."
"If I want to do something that is more purely business-related and is somewhat complex to write or is nuanced, I sometimes have trouble implementing that inside of the Automation Anywhere script. I feel limited at times with some of the looping and some of the branching and some of the ways to make procedure calls when I have a complex business issue."
"We have a few issues which have persisted. These end up restarting the machine. We are hoping in version 11.3 of Automation Anywhere, our compatibility and infrastructure issues will be resolved."
"Sometimes, I find that Excel automation is not as expected. Excel automation can be enhanced."
"Regarding the UI, once you're in some of the screens there are fixed dialogues. They are a set size, so there's a lot of horizontal scrolls and vertical scrolls."
"On the document automation side, the document learning features are not as robust as one would expect them to be. When I am doing document automation and a document fails due to low confidence in populating a field, it requires manual correction."
"Another feature that would be cool to see in Automation Anywhere is more use of artificial intelligence."
"It would be great if video analytics could be brought in as a third-party product integration or on the Automation Anywhere platform. I would like the video analytics to be integrated within the next two years. Right now, most people are using third-party tools. Video can be translated into an image and information can be picked up from that, then translated into meaningful insights to make decisions."
"It would be better if it were more user-friendly. The reporting part in the version we have is a little complicated. It takes too long to build and report. It would also be better if there were another way to manage notifications."
"Sometimes it is difficult to make the application do exactly what you need."
"We need more customizable reporting functionality. We could also use more collaboration of service desk tickets. This will allow for two departments to share the same information, track the progress of the total task scope no matter how complex the request is."
"It would be nice if they added the ability to go directly to a form via a deep link URL."
"It is pretty clunky and not very intuitive. Even though I have used it for many years, I don't think it is a very good ITSM platform in general."
"We need more customizable reporting functionality."
"To improve the product for our usage, the pricing maybe could be a bit lower."
"The mobile version of this product does not support asset management."
"I'd like to see a better UI/UX. It also needs more competitive pricing on the Service Cloud feature licenses."
"Reporting could be improved."
"I would like to add some bot features."
"The pricing of Salesforce Service Cloud is expensive compared to other solutions like our current SAP CRM, which is much cheaper."
"We've started using a couple of AI engines. I believe there's room for improvement there. For instance, when an agent receives a message like "My order is stuck midway, and the delivery guy isn't responding," there should be a pre-populated recommended response on the agent's screen. Instead of crafting a custom reply or searching through knowledge articles to find the delivery guy's contact, this should be the process."
"The solution could be more affordable as it's quite expensive for some organizations, particularly middle-sized companies."
"Reporting needs improvement as sometimes we need to export data and work with it in Excel."
"The solution's integration with the main ERP is a little cumbersome."

Pricing and Cost Advice

"The ROI is really good. We have saved time and money."
"We have reduced our headcount, approximately 200 to 300 employees, by eliminating manual, repetitive work. It provides profit to the business."
"Pricing is a bit high when compared to other available tools; however, the tool is worth the cost."
"If you are looking into Automation Anywhere, get the Community Edition and play with it."
"Our annual licensing costs are around $100,000 a year."
"Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
"Additional costs will be for the machines and the number of machines that you are using. You can deploy virtually as well as on physical machines. In both the situations, you do need to allocate a certain budget for securing the machines and where the software will be installed and running. The machines cannot be used for anything else, because only a certain bot can run at a certain time. You need to be very particular about your scheduling of running the bots, and while the bot is running nobody can use the machine. You cannot have an agent working on a machine and the bot running in the background. It has to be completely dedicated. Then there are the network bandwidth requirements and space requirements, which are additional costs apart from the licensing and software costs. The developer is also going to charge you for their coding time too."
"It is the most economically friendly and it provides you with a lot of functions."
"Cost was on par with other service desk products, and well below Remedy, while still being a BMC product."
"Our costs are well over $250,000."
"The licensing for FootPrints is a perpetual license with an annual support fee."
"This solution has good pricing."
"The solution is priced at 50 dollars a month per user."
"I believe that in our country, Colombia, we utilize this platform for the Latin American region. In terms of expenses, it's somewhat higher compared to other products. I would rate it as expensive and nine out of ten."
"Salesforce Service Cloud is a bit expensive."
"Salesforce is not a cheap product. It can be expensive."
"The product is expensive. There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing costs attached to the product."
"Only enterprise businesses can afford the solution, and small companies cannot afford it."
"The price of the solution depends on how many users need access to it"
"The licensing is flexible. Companies pay for what they use. However, a company with very small needs might find it difficult to justify the cost. Overall, it's in the medium price range."
